Hi there, Jack Canfield here and today I'm going to share seven ways to boost your business by asking. You know one of life's fundamental truth states, ask and you shall receive. And that is one of life's most simple but powerful truths. As adults, we seem to lose our ability to ask. And here's what you need to understand. The world responds to those who asked. So let's start using that in your favor. Here are seven big ways to use asking that will ensure that your business becomes more profitable. I promise if you do these, your revenues will soar. The first way to make your business more profitable is to ask for information. To win potential new clients, you first need to know what their current challenges are, what they want to accomplish, and how they plan to do it. Ask questions starting with words. Who, why, what, where, when and how to obtain all the information you need. This is called the discovery process. And repeat this process with those kinds of questions until you have explored this topic as fully as you need to. So practice asking simple, direct questions and then be attentive. Listen well and learn to read between the lines. The next way to ensure you boost your profits is to ask for business. Now here's an amazing statistic. After doing a complete presentation about the benefits of their product or service more than 60% of the time, salespeople never ask for the order. If you want business, you have to ask. Don't waffle or talk around it, or even worse, wait for your prospect to ask you. The point is, just ask. Also make sure your closing question is designed to produce a yes or no or a no answer. Unlike your earlier questions in the discovery process, where all you really want is more information, the third way to boost your business is to ask for written endorsements. Well written, results oriented testimonials from highly respected people are powerful. And here's what's fascinating. Most people in business just don't do this. That gives you a great opportunity to jump ahead of your competition. And remember, all you need to do is ask. And the best time to ask for a testimonial is anytime you've made your customer really happy. And under these circumstances, people will be glad to praise your efforts. And if you have your smartphone with you, you can record your testimonial right there. And then the next strategy I wanted to offer you is to ask for top quality referrals. Just about everyone in business knows the importance of referrals. However, the reality in our experience is that only 1 out of 10 small businesses or large companies has a system for Gathering Referrals as all top business people know, asking for qualified referrals is an important part of an overall marketing strategy. It's a habit that will dramatically increase your income, and like any other habit, it requires that you do it often, and then eventually it will become easier as you do it more often. Now, this next strategy might seem simple, but it's often forgotten, and that is to ask for more business. Many people lose thousands of dollars in sales every year because they have nothing more to offer after the initial sale. So look for other products or services to add to your portfolio and also develop a system to determine when your clients will require more of your own product or service and then follow up with them. Remember that businesses grind to a halt when you stop asking. And when you consistently ask for more business, you rapidly gain momentum. The next way to ensure you are doing everything you can do to build your business is ask to negotiate. See, regular business activities include negotiation and the opportunity to renegotiate. Many people get stuck because they aren't good at this, but it's another form of asking that can save you a lot of time and money. All sorts of contracts can be renegotiated simply by asking. As long as you do it ethically and in the spirit of win win, you can enjoy a lot of flexibility. Nothing is ever cast in stone. If your situation requires change, ask for it. And finally, the last way to boost your business by asking, and it's really an important one, is to ask for feedback. This is so important, this component of asking, but it's often overlooked. How do you really know if your product or service is meeting the needs of your clients and customers? Well, simply ask them. Set up regular customer surveys that ask good questions and include the tough questions. You can even consider a monthly focus group where you can meet your customers face to face. It can be online, can be on Skype. There's a lot of ways you can do that, and if you supervise a team of people or run a large organization, ask the people you work with for ideas. No matter what type of industry you work in, you are surrounded by people who can give you valuable feedback. All you need to do is ask. Keeping these seven strategies in mind, I want to leave you with a bit of homework to complete. After you've done watching this video, write down three different areas of your life and then three people you can get feedback from. And then write down what you will ask them for feedback about and exactly how you plan to ask them and to hold yourself accountable. Leave a comment below with the three areas you'll be willing to ask for feedback in, and I'll follow up with you guys to make sure you're staying on track. Thank you for watching, and remember, nothing will change for the better until you do.
