Hi there, I'm Jack Canfield and today I want to share with you a few tips to help you be more productive. When you live in a state of mental and physical clutter, it's likely that you won't be very productive. So follow these five steps to become an all around more productive person. First, clean up your messes. You see incomplete projects, unfinished business, and piles of cluttered messes can weigh you down and take away from the energy you have to move forward toward your goals. Physical energy, mental energy, emotional energy are all affected. See, when you don't complete tasks, you can't be fully prepared to move into the present and work on your future tasks you've got to be complete in the past, present, in the present, so you can focus on your future. And what this means is in order to be productive, you must complete any unfinished business or tasks that have been holding you back from the past. So make a list of all the incompletes, all the unfinished tasks you have, and make sure to prioritize them, schedule time and get those completed. The next thing is focus. The most successful people create entire days dedicated to focus. We call a focus day. A day in which you spend at least 80% of your time operating in your core genius or your primary area of expertise. Interacting with people or processes that give you the highest payoffs for the time you invest. Like for me, that might be speaking, coaching, product development, doing videos like this today, working in pr, doing conference calls, webinars, seminars. These are the things that I'm brilliant at and these are the things that I want to be spending the majority of my time doing. So you want to make sure you have many more focus days where you schedule the day to be only doing your top priority actions. Now, to be successful, you've got to schedule more focus days and hold yourself accountable for producing those results. And the more you focus on your highest payoff activities, the more productive you'll be. Now the third thing is you've got to learn to say no. If you're going to increase your results and your income, as well as increase the amount of free time in your life, you are going to have to eliminate those activities, the requests and the other time stealers that don't have have a high payoff for you. You'll have to structure your work so that you're focusing your time, your effort, your energies and your resources only on projects, opportunities and people that give you a huge payoff for your results. Now here's the deal. You're going to have to create strong boundaries about what you will do and what you won't do. In fact, many of us have to do lists. You need to have a not do list as well. Things you're not going to waste your time on. Things you're going to say no to if other people ask you. Now, the next practice that I want you to take on is called the Rule of five. Now, the rule of five simply means that every single day you must do five specific things to move you toward achieving your most important goal. To get that toward completion. Now, by committing to take meaningful daily actions to achieve your goals every day, you're going to accomplish more than you thought possible in a surprisingly short amount of time. Think about it this way. If you went to a tree with a sharp ax, I don't care how wide that tree is, as wide as your car. If you take five swipes at that tree with the axe every day, the largest tree in the world is eventually going to come down. The same thing is true with your goals. If you'll take five specific actions every single day, you'd be surprised how fast you'll get to the result. Now, the next thing is meditation. Meditation is very important when it comes to productivity in general. Through meditation, you can do many things better. When your mind is clear, you make better decisions, you're better able to focus on your most pressing issues, you're more creative, you have much greater awareness of the world around you, and therefore you can respond to it more productively and you ultimately get more done. Now, all of these are great benefits. Make sure you take advantage of them. Now, I want to leave you with some homework. After watching this video, pick one of these productivity tips and begin implementing it today. So I'd like you to leave a comment below on which one you're choosing to implement first starting today, and I'll be sure to follow up with you. So thank you for watching today. And remember, nothing will change for the better until you do.
