Jack Canfield explains Recommended Daily Actions

A short motivational transcript outlining Jack Canfield's 'Daily Disciplines for Effortless Success.' The speaker presents a morning routine of visualization and intention-setting for the day and longer-term goals, using affirmations tied to each goal, placing visual reminders in the environment, choosing 'better-feeling' thoughts when negative thinking arises, keeping an attitude of gratitude (daily gratitude journaling), and taking obvious or inspired actions immediately.

Now, what I want to kind of summarize this with what I call the Daily Disciplines for Effortless Success. Number one, every morning, what I want you to do is to close your eyes and visualize your day going exactly the way you want it to go. So this is what we call intending the day. Make a clear sense of that person's going to answer the phone, I'm going to find a parking space, this is going to happen, that's going to happen. And see it going exactly the way you want. You feeling the feelings you want to feel you and getting the results you want. And then visualize your bigger goals. You know, the million dollar goal, the world peace goal, the ending hunger goals, all the goals you have that are longer term than just your immediate day. And then if you have affirmations, do the affirmations. And I recommend one affirmation for every goal. So you've got the goal, you say your affirmation, you visualize it as done. Some people will look at their goal card and they've got a picture on the back of the car, they want whatever, and then they close their eyes, feel themselves driving it. The second thing I want you to do is to put external images around your house, on your refrigerator, on the mirror next to your, in the bathroom, next to the medicine chest, etc. So that you're seeing things around you. The monks in the monasteries knew this. Everywhere you turn, there'd be a crucifix, or there'd be a Buddha, or there'd be whatever the religious symbol was of that sect. And they would be reminded, this is what I'm here for. And they would wear the same color robes so they would be reminded constantly what was their purpose? Why were they here? The third thing I want you to do is to have a better feeling thought. That means. What does that mean? Anytime you notice that you're not feeling well, ask yourself, what am I thinking? Usually it's a negative thought. Okay, my boyfriend left me. That happens. There'll never be another one like him. I'll be miserable the rest of my life. There's three women for every man in Boston. You know, whatever it is, that thought is not going to take you where you want to go. But hey, Margaret just found a boyfriend. She really loves him. They are getting married. If she can do it, I can do it. That's a better thought. It is going to give you a better feeling. So always be looking for that better feeling thought. When you are not feeling well, ask yourself, what am I thinking? We talked about having attitude of gratitude. I do a journal every day. Write down for seven minutes everything I am grateful for. That's what I do. Some other people do different things, but you want to make sure you get gratitude in there and have an attitude of gratitude all day long. Take action. We talked about obvious and inspired actions every day. If you get an inspiration, act on it. Pick up the phone, go down to the corner, go to Starbucks. If you think you might meet your future, I would make $100,000. Helps you have a negative feeling. But if you go, wow, I got a parking space today. I said, I'm going to get a parking space. And sure enough, there was a parking space. Now, you could say it's coincidence, but if you focus on that, it's the law of attraction working. Our experience has been that it starts to work even more.
