Hi, I'm Jack Canfield from the Inner circle club@jackcampfield.com and I just finished interviewing Les Hewitt, who is the co author of the Power of How to hit your Personal Financial and Business Targets with Absolute Certainty. And, Les, you told an incredible story about the power of desire in terms of staying focused and producing results. Can you share that with us again?
Yeah. Desire is one of those absolute, fundamental things that are important to hit goals, obviously. And the best example I can give you is my son, Andrew. We were working on the Power Focus for College students, and we were almost getting to the end of that book. The publisher was anxious to get the manuscript, and he said to me one day, we need to get somebody to write a foreword, because who knows us? We're a couple of kids, he and his co author and 22 years old. Nobody knows us. We need someone of significance. And I said, well, what about the dean of the business college at the university?
He'd be great.
And Andrew looked at me and said, dad, get real. Who the heck knows the dean of the business school? I said, you figure it out. So a couple of days he came back and he said, we figured it out. We're getting Donald Trump. And I said, do you know Trump? Because I don't know Trump. He said, we're getting Trump. That's all there is to it. And that's one of these things about these kids. Like, they just believe anything can happen. Anything is possible. And so what he did was he mocked up a cover of the book, and. And right across the top, it said, forward by Donald Trump. And then he made a screensaver of it. And every time he opened his laptop, six or seven times a day, bang, this thing hit him. Forward by Donald Trump. The power of visualization. Cut a long story short, three people got him to Trump. I was sitting in the offices of New York with the president of Trump University with the manuscript in my hand. He looked at it, said, I think Donald would be interested in this. Two weeks later, Trump wrote the forward. And that's the power of desire. And that's really all you need. Not all you need, but one of the most important things you need to be successful and hit your goals.
