You know, during times of major disruption, upheaval, or crisis, it's important for you to focus on what you want, not what you don't want. And today I'd like to share a powerful visualization exercise you can use to get clear on exactly what you want your life to look like and to cultivate an unshakable confidence in your ability to make it happen, make it a reality in your life. It's called the write your own success story exercise, and it's a fun and easy way to gain valuable clarity on your ideal future and what you must do to bring it to. Okay, so let's get started. So, first off, I'd like you to come up with an important goal you have for yourself. Now, this can be a business goal or a personal goal. It can even be a goal pertaining to where you want to be when this global pandemic crisis that we're currently experiencing comes to an end. So just pick the specific reality or outcome you want to experience, and then take some time after watching this video. Or you can pause it right now as we go through this and write it down in as much detail as you can. And next, you're going to close your eyes and imagine a moment in your future where you're excited and grateful because you've actually just successfully achieved that goal. Now, how do you know you've just achieved your goal? What have you seen or heard that proves it? And you want to visualize that and hear those sounds? Who are you with and what are you doing? See those people? How are you reacting to the fact that you've achieved it? You know, are you celebrating? Are you going out for dinner? What are you doing? And what is the strongest positive feeling you have as a result of achieving that goal? And you want to actually feel that feeling in the moment. Now, how does this success change the way you view yourself? That's another question you want to ask yourself, how do I view myself differently now that I've done this? And then what I want you to do is focus on what is the biggest challenge you had to overcome in order to achieve the goal. And so that's like what we call planning from the future backwards. And then ask yourself, how did you do that? What did you learn about yourself in the process? Now, what you're doing is you're going into the future and you're looking back over what you had to do to get to where you want. And that's giving you a blueprint of what you have to do to actually get there. So I strongly urge you to take some time in the next day or so and write down detailed answers to all of those questions. Then make a point to review your success story at least once a week. Once a day would be even better. But you want to do that to keep your desired experience top of mind. And that'll help you remember what you're working toward and give you the inspiration and the motivation to keep going. And it will help you anticipate any roadblocks that might appear in your path. It'll make it easier for you to solve problems before they occur. Now remember, in order to achieve your desired outcome, first you need to know what that outcome is. Then you need to be able to visualize it clearly and hold that vision in your mind no matter what's going on in your life. So writing your own success story is a fun and easy way for you to get clear on what you want.
