Hi, I'm Jack Canfield from the Inner circle club@jackcampfield.com and I just finished another amazing interview today with Cynthia Kersey, who's the author of the book Unstoppable and Unstoppable Women. And we talked about seven qualities or characteristics that make someone unstoppable. And you talked about Anita Roddick. I'd love you to share that story with our viewers here.
Okay, here she is. She's an average housewife. Average housewife, right. And she needs to put food on the table for her two kids. So she comes up with an idea to start a store and sell these really lovely body lotions that she puts all over her body and loves them. So she goes to all these banks, investment bankers. No one's willing to lend her money. That would stop most people. It did not stop her. She got a friend of a friend who lent her $6,400 in exchange for 50% of the business. Wow, that was a nice investment. Anyway, so she has $6,400 and she has to open a store. That's not, again, a lot of money. So what did she do? She had to be creative. So she went to a hospital supply store and she got these inexpensive plastic urine containers. This is what she was going to put her body lotions in. Then she brings them home, puts them on the kitchen table. She and a girlfriend, they sit there and they hand write every label. And then they have the audacity to ask their customers when they're finished with those bottles, to bring them back for refills. The Body Shop now has whatever, 2,000 stores plus. They've made a huge difference in the world. She's a great example of social entrepreneurism and really using principles that give back in a community, but anything is possible. Anita didn't take no. She didn't make it mean never. And we talk in this interview about how we really can develop those unstoppable qualities. So whatever it is that you want in your life, you've got the tools and the resources to be able to make that happen.
