This is a YouTube clip titled "Your \"Character\" is a Muscle in Need of Exercise as much as Your Body" (created 2012-02-29 UTC). It features Jack Canfield (introducing himself as from the Inner Circle Club) in conversation with Lisa Nichols (author of No Matter What). The excerpt is a short interview/promotional segment in which they discuss psychological fitness — building "muscles" of character like forgiveness and understanding — and invites viewers to watch the full interview via the Inner Circle Club (contact shown as inner circle club@jackcampfield.com).
Hi, I'm Jack Canfield from the Inner circle club@jackcampfield.com and I just finished what I think has to be one of the most inspiring interviews of my life with Lisa Nichols, who's the author of a book called no Matter what. But really more than the author of a book, you're the author of a life that really exudes no Matter What. And one of the things we talked about in that interview was the idea that we know we have to work out to be physically fit, but we don't really think about psychological fitness. And I'd like you to share some of what you talked about.
Right. We naturally understand that in order to get a great tricep or bicep or hams or quads, we got to go to the gym. In order to get this six pack, you got to do some crunches. But oftentimes, we want to develop our character. We want to become stronger in our character. We forget you have to work that out as well. You have muscles of your character, your forgiveness muscle. You want to build that muscle. Who's the person that you haven't forgiven? Let's forgive them. Your understanding muscle. Can you look at the gift that may have come to you wrapped in sandpaper? You know, that experience, you didn't ask for the thing you didn't want to occur, but because it occurred in your life, you're stronger, you're better, you're more compassionate, you're more giving, you're more loving, whatever it is. Those are your muscles of your character. I mean, they go all through your body. They go all through your mind and your soul. And. And when you develop those muscles, life begins to transform in front of your eyes.
So it's not just what you teach, and you teach amazingly wise things that are. I learned from you today. But more than that is your beingness. Your beingness is transformational. So if you'd like to be in the space of some person's beingness who can transform you, let alone get a lot of information that you can instantly apply to your life to create a life that you've always wanted to have, the life of your dreams, come and watch the rest of this interview. Come to the Inner circle club@jackcampfield.com and have your life transformed.
