Hello, welcome, this is Jagdish. I'm really excited that you have subscribed to my podcast channel. And today I will really tell you, is there a chance that you have made a mistake in your career or you have chosen design as a real decision? Okay. So this podcast is going to give you clarity on whatever you decided is correct or not, okay? Because people tell that design is good, design is bad, but you should actually tell yourself that, then it starts making sense. Okay? So we will be getting clarity in uncertainty of this design, okay? And if you are certain about that, that's okay. You can start with learning through design schools, through mentorships, through programs. There are a lot many things available right now for you. Okay? But if you're dedicating yourself, I would suggest try to choose a good mentor who can able to assist you and personalize your learning experience or else you might leave this particular field soon because the drop off rates of design, field and career is very high compared to the people who are succeeding. Okay. To the experience what I'm going through, I'm telling you this. And if you're dedicating and focusing there with the mentor, practice it consistently with them for a longer time. Do not jump here and there. If you're learning from some course, do it properly. If you're learning from a school, do it properly. If you're learning from a mentor, do it properly. Jumping here and there will not give you any results. It's not about what or whom you associate with. It's about how long you associate with them that will bring you results, okay? Because that distractions will actually pull your career back and forth. And now I'm going to be discussing you three aspects of how you can check whether this field is for you or not. So the first step is actually think about a very clear mindset, what you had while you choose this design. Okay? I'll repeat this. Think about what made you choose this and what are the intuition you had before jumping into this. Okay. The intuition could be maybe you are good in terms of beautifying something. Maybe you got attracted towards something which is fabulous. Beautiful products, beautiful screens, websites. Or maybe just aesthetically appealing for yourself, not for others, for yourself. So there is some kind of voice which rised inside you which will make sure you are following that path. Right? Try to find out that there is a workbook normally which I give for my students to find out this. It is not a very easy thing which is just sit and think. It will come. You have to peel out all your layers after that, only you will be getting this answer straight. Okay, I am just saying it easily, but it takes time. You need to go through this vigorous activity because thereby you can be sure that this career is for you or not. That's the first thing. Find your inner voice and intuition. What made you do this? The second aspect is actually are you really inclined towards solving problem creating impact? Because design is a very, very good field where you can create huge amount of impact. Design for change, even the podcast name is actually designed for change. There's a reason why I kept it. So designing for change will actually have an impact in you. First of all, before you start this field, you might be envisioning I can solve millions of people's problem, I can solve nation's big problem. I can solve for sustainability, I can solve for reducing poverty. Design can do lot many things right. So there should be another trigger also, which you might have thought. This is not the first point. First point is all about aesthetics, intuition, your voice, your calling. Second is something which is pure logical because we decide something mostly on emotional as well as on logical. So this aspect is also very important to check out whether you have chosen through this route. The second aspect is solving problems through design. Are you attracted to this field, to that perspective? To be very honest, personally, I was drawn into this field largely because of aesthetics and the kind of what you call the beautification, the art, the kind of expression, what I was trying to express myself, which I have not been doing before. But eventually it changed that evolved I would say. Or maybe that's the real thing, but I realized it later. So allow yourself to find out that there is nothing right, wrong. You can just allow yourself to find the second aspect. It's true or not. The third is it's very simple. You did it for your living and your sustenance. Of course people want some living, right? So people choose this for this reason also. That's totally fine. There is nothing wrong in doing it. People think that's not the point. So people do. Yes, Product designers are paid high. UI UX designers are paid high. Sometimes it becomes a top paying jobs in the country as well as the globe. Also in terms of vacancies and job and freelance, that's okay. But this is also an aspect which you have been drawn into this field no matter what. Whether you attracted towards the aesthetic or you attracted towards the logical point. You wanted to solve and create some impact or you did it for your living. Don't worry about anything. You might be in this three category. Okay, Just self Retrospect yourself and then move forward. And you know what you can be in any three aspects. The point is how you move forward from here. By finding out that people don't know this, people don't even ask. And if you have found out that, then I would suggest you have to dedicate yourself. You have to find a good place to start learning and then you have to take action, action, action consistently to reach your results. This is how you find yourself, whether design is good for you or not. And you take it forward. Okay, so if you are really choosing design as your career and I also welcome you to my 42 days journey. I think if you are listening to this podcast and you must be definitely knowing about my 42 days journey. So in that 42 days journey, I'll be really taking you through six weeks of exact dissemination of design. The first week would be like how and how, how you really make a good portfolio. World's best portfolio in the designs community. Right. So I've started with that. Second is why you have chosen design. There are some exercises and activities which I've taken through. Third is you will have clarity in terms of starting up with design projects, doing live, understanding, thinking and the fourth week you will be mastering the process. See, even if you go through one one week, all these three aspects, what I talked to you before would have been covered and you would have found out that that is why the fifth week is finding who you are again. There will be a lot of projects there to make sure you find out. The sixth week is launching to the market. Like how do you really project yourself? How do you get job, how do you get freelancing, how do you get even a design consultation? How do you even startup? There could be any category which you might be thinking of. So this self introspection is very important. Whether you join some program or not. Don't do it without analyzing this three aspect which category you're falling in. And if you do it, then you're mindlessly wandering here and there. You won't get any results, you'll be putting a lot of efforts, you'll be making a lot of screens which I normally see in students and Behance and Facebook and LinkedIn. They barely make results or they just do basic living. That's it. They won't create any kind of an impact or they won't really fulfill themselves. Leave about creating impact, you have to fulfill yourself. Right? So this is a path to find out and do it. And if you need my support also to help you out. Yeah, you can check the link below, you can join my 42 days journey and you can also check whether you qualify it for not. Okay? Because I don't take lot of students and I don't take everybody. I take students who are really serious. Okay. And I keep a test for them. It's not an exam test or something, it's. It's a mind test, small test. Okay. Because I need to be sure you're very qualified and then you'll be into it. Okay? So this is just a start of this particular podcast, guys. For design and change. You'll be hearing of lot many things from you and you'll be also having a chance to interact with me in the comment box and you can also email to me if you have any kind of improvements in this podcast and if you need to add some topic or if you need to address some pain point, I'd be more than happy to do it.
