Foreign. Hi, this is Jagdish. Thank you for staying tuning in with me in Design for Change. Today we are going to really understand what is the real importance of having values in our life. People don't. Please do ignore this topic, people. Lot of people don't take it very seriously. Lot of people don't get an awareness of what is this in this podcast. Let me make it very, very simple and straightforward, guys. Okay? See, it's a caution. I'm not a behavioral expert or I'm not a brain coach or somebody who can go into the exact neurological science of it, but this is what is a technique which I've learned from my mentor, which is who is actually called John Demartini. He's like, he has studied over 45,000 books. He has, I think, huge amount of PhDs done in the span of time, and then he has trained millions of people using this technique. Let me tell you, whatever subject you are, whatever expertise you are in this field, if you don't determine your highest value of your life in whatever you do, you're gonna get a backfire no matter how hard you work. That is the exact reason why I'm recording this podcast. Because if you are a creative designer, you need to definitely understand it. Okay, so let me give you first understanding. Guys, first, let me give you a caution as well. I'm going to be pasting a link on this podcast description. You can go to the John demartini website and you can do it directly. Okay. Because this will take you 30 to 40 minutes for doing this test. And he has exactly designed this particular tool step by step in a manner to determine it. It's a very beautiful tool. It's a AI tool which can help you out. Okay. And surprisingly, you will be having lot of perceptions, very different after doing that test. But this podcast is going to give you that importance and a slight outline of what it is. Okay. This is not the method I. I've understood. I've learned from my mentor. Thanks and a great credit to him. John demartini. You can visit his website as well. I'll just paste this link as well. Okay. Let me tell you the second important point. Why it is very important. Let us go and understand the biological fact of it. The more you are dedicated towards an important aspect and an important value in your life, you will be more happier than ever. Like, let's say if you're suffering from any disease or if you're suffering from any psychological illness, or if you're having any kind of a body ailment, or illness or anything, guys, okay, but if you have your real passion in front of you, like let's say, if you really like sketching, if you really like designing products, if you really like solving problems through your application design and website design, if you do it with the fullest, highest interest and passion, biologically, your diseases will not be a real problem for you. You will not be bothered with that. If you have a clear goal, if you have a clear value in your life, what you really needed to do, even if you wake up at 2 o' clock and do, you will never feel tired, you will never feel rested, you will never feel like doing the work at all. Having a very single goal and a very good value in your life for that goal is very important to cure all of your illnesses. Guys. This is biologically important. Let me give you a chemistry, okay? There is something called execution center in our brain, which is what you call prefrontal cortex. The moment if you decide which is the highest value in your life. Like let's say you have a kid, let's say you have a job, let's say you have a. What do you call, you're going for the vacation, you wanted to go for the vacation. Out of these three, what do you really prioritize? The highest value in your life? Of course people will go for kids, right? There are some people who go for vacation, there are some people who go for office, this, that. Okay, let me give you a very good clarity in this. The moment when you really decide upon something which is very vital and important for you. Like let's say in this case, you. If you ask a mother for a newborn, they would typically say their kids are the highest priority for them. And if you go and watch them, they will be tirelessly working for that kid. They'll be night and day feeding them. They'll not feel any tired, they'll not feel anything. What you call upset, they'll not feel anything. Oh, why am I doing this? God save me from this situation. They don't complain, they don't excuse, they don't blame others for doing that, because that is the single most highest value in their life. And they're very happy to do it. You know what? Your media prefrontal cortex is really, really happy producing lot of good, what you call chemicals inside your. In your brains and neurons. You will have a blood glucose level and oxygen spraying into that region of your brain so that it works actively, it works healthily. And then you will not feel anything bad or sad or what you call tired or Restless or anything. Guys, rather, if you focus on something which is a second priority, like let's say if you go for a career where your kid is really suffering from some illness and you want to really take them out, do you think you can work happily there? Do you think you can work stressful there? Do you think you can work stress free there? Think about it. Because all of your value is very different the moment if you decide what really wants in your life as a single most important value, your biology, your chemistry, your physics, your entire anatomical things in your body will align to it and work towards it. Guys, I hope you would have got a clarity in this point, okay? Because I've explained you biologically and chemistry. What is that exact part of it? There is a region called amygdala in our brain, okay? The moment this is a, what you call, this is a region where we used to fight or flight. Okay, let me give you this clarity. Fight or flight means we have been evolved from ancestor as a hunters in forest, right? If any predator or any danger comes, our brain will decide whether to have a fight with that situation or to flight run away from the situation. This is called a survival mechanism in our brain, okay? It's, it's no way connected to a very positive, which no way connected to a bigger happier purpose because this is just to survive you. If you use that amygdala a lot of times in your brain, which is, which is still not understood the real value of your life or the highest happiness or the highest priority in your life, it will just go on survivor mode. You will go for office, you will fight with somebody, you'll just do whatever work is given, complete this, that, and then you'll try to avoid lot more things and then you'll just be firefighting every single day. In your task, in your work, in your life, in your career, you will not be able to aheadly plan it carefully. You will not be able to foresee the skill set which you wanted to learn. You will not be able to foresee the next opportunities, what you wanted to grow. You will not foresee the next job trend, what is going to come and how you can able to equip and earn more and keep your family financially economically secure. And you will not be in that mode. Your amygdala is a very, very, very, very. What you call, it's like a repletarian brain which is already there for just a survival mechanism, okay? The moment when you activate your prefrontal cortex, which is the, what you call the main execution center of Your brain, which I told you first, you will find a lot of good things and positive connections and creativity and what you call, you will be more active, you'll be productive because your brain supplies with a lot of good oxygen, with lot of good blood glucose and everything goes into that. So always remember, amygdala is not the exact thing you have to exactly use the execution center because. Okay, Jagdish, having understood this chemistry, how do I really activate it? You don't have to do chemically anything. You don't have to get a PhD in the brain subject or anything. You have to just focus what you really wanted in your life. That's it. If you do that, pretty much everything in your body sets up automatically. More than 30,000 different functions automatically happens in a very streamlined way. If you really decide what you wanted to have in your life and what you wanted to do, more than 90% of the people in the world doesn't have this. Guys, that's why I suggest you demartini method is a very, very powerful method. You can do it. If you're not able to determine it, no problem. Guys, in this podcast I'm going to give you an overlay, but you can do it extensively in your, in your method also, which I'm going to paste that link in your chat box, okay? In the podcast, wherever you're listening. So because I, I feel if you're not doing that in an extensive way, spending 30 to 45 minutes of your career time, I don't think you are leading anywhere. You'll be just firefighting every single day, not knowing the real value and priority in your life. Let me give you quickly the snap, guys. First, if you really wanted to find a determinant and have a highest value in your life, first is write down what's your, what's your reason why you wanted to become a designer? First thing, okay. Second is write a goal and design in your life, in your health, in your career, in your relationship, in your entire destiny of your life, what you wanted to do. Again, if you don't have a goal, you can't determine your value. Guys, it's an interrelated thing. Goals is like smart. You need to write a specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time bound goal. It's not like I wanted to become a designer. I wanted to become healthy. I wanted to take care of my family happily. That's not called goals. That's called just a fantasy. Crazy people have fantasies. Okay? If you have a clear goal, I wanted to earn 1 lakh per month before this December 2025 as a senior product designer, then that's called a goal. I wanted to work for an E commerce industry wherein I wanted to become a senior product manager earning 24 LPA before this December 2025. See, that's what is called goal. I lose. I already lost 10kg of weight before December 2025. See, having written in a present tense, going to the time forward in December 2025, which is like one year from now or two years from now, that is the most clear thing. What you are visualizing in your mind. When you're able to decide that guys your activity will be aligned to it. Okay, first is why design? Second is having a goal in design. And third important thing is try to group out these things into groups and subgroups. Like let's say if you have written health goal, if you have written career goal, if you design goal, if you written family happiness and relationship goal, try to group it into subgroups and groups. Okay? That's the third important thing. Fourth important thing is have a character. Have a. Have a character of 10 keywords for each of the things. Like let's say if you have written car as a goal or if you have written something like a you want to go to London or if you wanted to go to Canada or US or anything. Okay, so write 10 keywords associated to it. See. Remember guys, don't write which you wanted to actually have in the. What do you call near future or something. So try to find out what is your current thing, what you're doing. Like let's say you want to start up an industry, but there is nothing that you're going right now. You're just learning design skill or you're equipping a skill. Please write that down and make sure your keyword should be like that. Don't think like hey, after 10 years I'll be okay. That's fine guys, that you can do it later. See, whatever you do right now, very correctly, it will align to your long term goals later. If you don't determine your values correctly in your life, everything will be messed up and you will be still unsatisfied. Even if you learn lot of things, even if you earn lot of money, even if you are healthy body, even if you are with a good relationship, you will still not be happy because you have still not found the highest value in your life. Very important guys, don't miss out on this. Okay, so write 10 different keywords for each of the groups and subgroups. Okay? And fifth important thing is spend Time think about what you spend time most of it. Like let's say if you're thinking more about car, if you're thinking more about design job, if you're thinking more about like let's say mobile phone or write lot of keywords in your groups and subgroups. And now comes an interesting thing which is sixth step. Make another groups and subgroups using this keyword. Okay, let me repeat you shortly guys. First determine why you wanted to be a designer. Second is have a clear written goal in your, in your health, in your life, in your relationship, in your design career, everything. Third is associated with the groups and subgroups. Fourth is having a character and a keywords around it. Fifth is think about what you spend most of the time near that 10 keywords. And sixth is make it into a groups and subgroups using that. So seventh important thing is now assign values for it. Like let's say out of 0 to 10 in a particular group if you wanted to give a health out of score 0 to 10, 10 being the maximum value and 9 low 8, even low 5 is mid 0 is nothing like let's say for health how much you wanted to give 9 if you wanted to give carrier 8 or maybe career 10 or if you wanted to give 9. So assign values out of 0 to 10. And then the ninth important thing is depend on the priority of the value what you gave. Now try to rank it and the moment if you're able to rank it clearly, guys, now segregate it into career, health and relationships. You know what, in front of you right now stands the highest value. This is the 10th important step which is called the MRI scan of your life. This is a very rough way of doing it guys. You can do it in just five minutes, whatever I told you. But if you really wanted to do it in extensive way, you can go to the Demartini method. It's a free of cost tool. You can do it. Let me tell you guys, after you do this 10 steps, you can ask your spouse or your partner to do it. You can ask your children if they are more than 15 to 16 years old, you can do it. And you and your spouse can do it together. And you will find a lot of priority mismatch in you. If you find lot of priority mismatch in your spouse and you, you will have to definitely work it back. You know what? Lot of times if your priorities are mismatching, you will get a lot of fight with your spouse. You will get a lot of fight with your husband or wife. You will get A lot of fight with your kids because your kid value is different and value is different and you both are in a different track. It doesn't mean that you have to take their value or it doesn't mean like they have to take your value and take their life or no, that doesn't mean like that. Respect that value and allow that space and they will also return to you the same way. Okay? Because let me tell you guys, if you do this highest value in your life and if you find that highest single most value in your life, your life is going to profoundly change. Like anything. Do it in three months, once, six months, once, nine months, one year and your priority will definitely change and you will find the exact suitable need and clear written value in your life the moment if you do it. Guys, let me tell you, even if you don't earn money, even if you earn little job, even if you're not having a very good relationship, even if you're not having a fit body or if you're not healthy, you will still be happy in your life. Your media prefrontal cortex will be supplied with a lot of blood glucose and oxygen. You will be so happy, so surprised, so productive, so damn happy person in the world. This is the single most determinant of your life. Guys, if you're not able to find out that value, I would highly, highly suggest you see this.
