Design thinking and AI could have a huge impact in your overall product design. Okay. People who are using AI, people who are not using AI, people who are not knowing exactly how to use it step by step will have a lot of problems in the future. People who exactly listen to this podcast and follow the sequence of steps. What I'm telling you, like how you can leverage the power of AI in a right optimized way so that you can use it for your product development thinking and what are the common mistakes? We are going to discuss that in this podcast, so take a lot of notes. I'm going to suggesting you some tools as well so that you can install and try it out. How it can increase your productivity. You'll see it live in just one day. Guys. Okay, let's jump in. Welcome guys. Welcome to this podcast. Thank you for staying tuning in with me. So we are in the series of design thinking, approach knowledge and and other things, right? So today we're going to discuss very important aspect of how design thinking can go very well with AI. See, design thinking is definitely a human centered problem solving approach, okay. Which includes empathy of the user, doing research, doing definition of the problem, doing ideation, doing prototype, doing testing. And it's an iterative process, okay? So majorly it involves understanding the needs of the user, behavior of the user, generating some innovative ideas, prototyping and feedback. That's the way in which it is done. So AI technologies like let's say ChatGPT, Google Bard or any machine learning software which is like natural language processing and computer vision can definitely increase your, your search, your processing in a lot more different way in various stages. Guys, okay, I'm going to explain you example is like let's say an algorithm can analyze your data, whatever you have to uncover user preferences and behaviors. Like let's say there is a tool called Google Sentimental analysis. There is a tool called Power bi. So when you input a data into this, when you put your statistics and relevant information or primary research, whatever you've collected, this tools can able to generate design alternates. It can provide you based on the constraints, what you've given and even it can predict the trends. That's the beauty of it. And it can even produce some kind of predictions what will happen. So this is the power of leveraging the ti Guys. See design thinking, if you can apply, you will have a lot of leverage over the data. You know what the big benefit of using this is? You'll have a faster iteration because if you do iteration, only your design process will evolve. AI tools can do that and you can have a data driven insight. That's the second advantage. So AI can analyze your data in a very different way. It can uncover some patterns, it can provide a preferences and pain points which can make a huge valuable decision making in your design. It enhances user experience in a greater way because the more you are able to understand and empathize with the user and individual needs, you can able to customize that. Okay, now we'll come to the tools part of it. See there are many generative design tools available, okay. To analyze this information and to order to predict your analysis. And natural language processing tools, computer vision tools. So there are a lot many tools available. Okay. So few. I'll tell you the very first thing which I have tried and used it is hot jar guys. This is a beautiful tool. So hotjar is majorly used for testing. So it gives you some heat maps, it provide you recordings and you can track users interaction let's say in mobile or website where users are clicking more it will give you some heat maps. So it provides a good insights on where and how users are clicking the screens and using it. And you can understand user flow and psychology. The second tool is IBM Watson Assistant. I am pasting you the link. Also you can try it out if you are doing if you wanted to really test drive it. It's a user research tool. So the big benefit is it provides vast amount of customer data, chat, social media conversation and it provides a survey to identifying the user needs and frustration. See companies like IBM companies which uses customer research management, customer relationship management, CRM softwares, they will be needing this kind of tools in order to use it. Unless your industry is not accustomed to it, you don't have to do it. It's a mean this tool is really expensive and it takes a lot of time to learn it also provided the advantage is significant. Okay, so there tool called the second tool, third tool, what I'll tell you is called Clara Bridge text analytics. Okay. It uses natural language processing and it categorizes the feedback of user. What happens when you do this kind of segregation guys, your problem framing will be much much faster. You'll be like 100x productive guys. That is the power of AI. If you're not able to leverage that, you will be in a conventional way. People who know these things will take over. Okay. The fourth tool is Mar Pipe Mar Pip. It generates creative design concepts based on keywords, design trends, user data. And there is another tool called buzzsumo and there is another tool called Keyhole AI and There is Keyhole Co and there is another tool called Google Trends. So these three tools will also enable you much in line with AI and it can do a lot of brainstorming and ideation with you. You can try that. Okay, and the sixth tool I would suggest you is called Uizard U I S E Z A R D okay, Use art. This is for rapid prototyping. You know what guys AI uses to create this? Wireframes and mockups and interactive prototypes from a text description into a rapid prototyping way prototypes finally. So you can do n number of iterations really really fast. Guys, you know how amazing it is. See the way in which AI is taking over is by understanding this guys you can take a control over it, but if you see it as a superficial things, nothing is going to work. I just pasted you some link. You can just try it out some free account and then you can try it out how it can happen. See tools like BuzzSumo, tools like Hardjar, tools like this Mar Paper is relatively very easy to understand and implement it. When you're able to do it guys, you will see a huge amount of difference. And you can use a tool called Hadoop Sensor which is the eighth tool. Okay, so it's a suit for AI features like various creative cloud applications. Like it can automate your repetitive task like image editing and then it can provide you some insights on video editing. So these kind of generative tools like Mid Journey, I'm suggesting you some additional tools also. Okay, so Mid Journey or Dall E2 can create this unique experiences where you will have a creative thinking and you'll see a lot of differences. You'll see like wow, this much analysis I won't be able to do it. What do you call if you do it alone? So that's the point guys. That's the power of this design thinking with AI. You know what guys, a recent IBM study found 80% of the businesses believe design thinking is critical for their business. 80 percentage. It's a human centered approach and AI is taking a great role doing that. You can do your research, your ideation, your prototyping, your mind mapping research, everything possible in that case. Okay, now let's come to the mistakes part of it. What mistakes people do. See, it all comes with a caution, right? So over reliance on the data is the first mistake. Don't use it directly guys, unless you have some primary secondary information or unless you have some built data already in it. Okay, this is a tool. Use the tools, don't allow the tools. Okay, so it should not replace this human creativity. Okay, that's the first mistake. Second is data biasness. What happens is AI has an efficiency and AI has some error, guys. It's not a hundred percent ideal tool. That cannot happen. In fact, the AI engines or whatever you use will give that caution to you if you're not reading it properly. Next time when you're using chat GPT or Google Bard or any other tool, please go and read the bottom part of it. Okay? So AI algorithms will have a perpetuated biases which is present in the data they're trained for. Okay? Designer needs to be very aware of this if you're testing with any particular product. Third is black box problem. See some AI tools lack transparency like the black box you have. No, nothing is visible. So it makes very very difficult for somebody to understand how it can arrive this kind of a solution. What is the recommendation? So you need to crack that. So choose tools that explain this reasoning properly, guys. That's why I normally recommend chat. GPT is good because that reasoning is also very clear. Fourth is unethical AI. See, as AI becomes more and more comfortable for us, ethical law and regulations becomes big problem for us. Okay, you know that focusing on the designing AI solutions that are fair, unbiased will be really good for your privacy. If you're able to follow this guys, I'll tell you what, you will make a 50 to 100x productive guys. You know a McKinsey study found that design thinking can lead to 30% increase in your customer satisfaction. And global AI in design market is expanding, is expected to reach 9.3 billion by 2025. So there are industries who work on AI in design thinking, there are industry who work on AI leveraging the design industry. So all these people are requiring designers and freshers and recruitment is happening, right? So you can see it's a 9.3 billion dollar industry by 2025. So in terms of job, in terms of vacancies, you will see a surge in AI getting into design process. I hope you have got the clarity in this podcast, guys.
