If you are building case studies and projects on top of it, if you're not getting selected in any interviews or nobody is calling you back, you might be doing lot of mistakes. In this podcast, I'm going to tell you how to structure a case study, particularly using the power of design thinking. And I'm going to give you six steps how to do it. Okay? So take a lot of notes, let's jump in. Welcome to this Design for Change podcast show. Thank you for staying tuning in with me. I know a lot of people will have this problem because it's a very, very long story. Guys. People take a design program, they start doing projects, they apply for job, but they turn up not getting it. Okay? So one step of the they do design thinking like convergent diversion thinking. So this is a typical thing what they follow, right? But have you ever wondered how you can structure your case study based on that? How you can get hired for any industry based on this methodology? This particular podcast is going to give you deep insights, guys, like what six steps you can exactly follow in order to do it. Okay? See if you are applying design thinking in your industries, you know, statistics found that 86% of the customer satisfaction rate has improved, the user experience have improved because of applying design thinking methodology covers metric approach. It finds the technology, it finds the cost, it finds the business impact and overall it overlaps everything. That's why the business is becoming more sustainable, more user friendly. When design thinking process is applied in a more holistic way. You need to get this clarity guys. You know like people are using like let's say ido, like let's say IBM directly using this in order to find the proper benefit of using this design thinking methodology. So same like that we can able to follow same like we can able to understand why these people are doing and why not we try. Okay, so we'll go to the step one guys. The first step is collect info and research about your project. Okay? Find out the challenges, what you have. Try to really do a deep research like empathize with the user and try to understand what is the real need for them to just first go into understand the pain points and do it. After you collect that, now you go for the second step which is called research and defining that. See now earlier definition of what is the thing is different. But after you do a research you try to redefine that. Okay? So that's where you will have a lot of clarity. That's where you will find out some diverse ideas that you will find out a lot of things okay, so just write it down and then once if you're able to have some kind of a clarity in your research, now try to make an idea around it. Okay, you can use a mind mapping method, guys, which is called a scamper. Like I've recorded a particular podcast on this earlier. Okay. It's a very detail. Apply this method. It's a, it's a very, very beautiful tool. Many times in session scamper technique, really who don't know this, they'll ignore this. But people who understand the importance of it. You know what? Substitute, combine, adjust, modify, put to other use. And remember it's an acronym. Okay? The substitute means see whether your idea can be substituted. Combine means see whether your idea can be combined. Adjust, modify, put to other use, eliminate, reverse. There are a lot of methodologies. Information is going to help you. What happens is if you're doing and if you're able to deeply, this kind of things will help you categorize this. Okay, which leads me to the third step, which is called segmenting. See, if you're not, you will not be able to have a proper guide. Okay, that's the third important step. So after creating the segmentation, you can do another step in third, which is if you're able to provide this information as a story and make a interesting element around it, what happens is this now is becoming more clear what problem you're going to solve and how you're going to solve and whom you're going to impact through this particular project. See, now the project is actually taking a live body now. It's becoming more interesting. The moment if you story fight and the moment if you're creating that insight around it now it will be like more clear. Like let's say, hey, my user is having some problem like stress and anxiety. So I'm going to build a particular product or service in order to reduce the stress and anxiety. Whenever he's working out, whenever he's studying, whenever he's working, whenever he's having relationships or anything. So my particular product and service is going to help around it. You know what? Lot of people in India are really suffering with this. Particularly 20 percentage to 30% of the adults get this problem. More than 50% of the what you call working professionals have this problem. So stress is eating lot of people. Lot of people are getting heart attacks. They're getting what you call stress anxiety attacks. So my product is going to help them solve it. See, so now it becomes more interesting, right? So after this three steps, you can go for the fourth step. Use ChatGPT and Bard to write this information in a more structured way. Okay? Neatly segmented to do research. Neatly segment into ideas. Neatly segment into segregating the information. Create a story, create a beautiful process around it. See if you're not able to do it, just give input to the chat GPT. It will help your content to structure it. Copy paste your content, structure it. Use a prompt called can you structure my project in a design thinking methodology? It'll help you out. And don't just copy paste this guys never do that mistake. Try to structure it in your own way. Use the writing style of ChatGPT. Maybe it will help you out to clarify the grammatical mistakes way of sentence formation. But ultimately you will have to do it. Okay, that's the fourth step. Fifth step is create some visuals around it. Okay? See, if you are not able to create some visuals and if you're not able to align it in a beautiful way, what happens is your project will look like a kitchen. This is the most, most important step. The more infographic information you show about your project and the steps and the process and the flow, what you followed, people will be able to understand clearly what you're trying to say. This is where people lack. This is where students really make a mistake in order to not get selected. They itself create problem for themselves. Okay, so once if your visuals are created according to it see you can use a tool called mid journey. But it won't be really, really accurate to whatever expectations what you have. So I would suggest you take canva do some basic visuals. You can use a tool called noun project. You can use a tool called Icons8. So these things will give you some icons, some basic visuals and then you can able to create some beautiful elements around it. Okay, Watch some best portfolios in Behance. What some good portfolios in the online websites so that you can able to structure it in a beautiful way. Okay? In just one page. How you can bring your project in just one scroll in a website. How I can build my project the moment. If you're able to make this categorization and segmentation very clearly, what happens is your project will look more clear. Which lead me to the last step. This is the most, most important. Create a video of one minute talking about this project. Switch on your camera in your mobile record a video. Or you can use a zoom. Because in zoom there is a feature called zoom. Recording zoom gives you a free 40 minutes recording time. You can share your screen. Also if you want, you can just talk in front of your camera. We Are nice headphones. Keep your background good. Just do a one minute video, that's it. You don't have to worry about this guys. A lot of people have a fear of taking video. I don't know like if you are hesitating to this step or if you are hesitating to not show up your face or introduce yourself or tell about yourself, then how will you crack any interviews? How will you show somebody that this is your intention behind doing the project? So remove all these blocks in your mind, keep going, take action and then you will see the results. Guys, so once if you're able to do the six steps and then if you're able to record a video. See in that video, I'll give you a format. Okay, how to do it? First is you'll have to create a hook in that project. Don't tell like hey, I'm doing a project, I'm doing research, I'm doing ideation. No, no, no, don't do that. See, there is a structure for this video. Okay, first you can create a hook. Hook is like say hey, more than 50% of the working professionals are having stress related anxiety attacks. See now it becomes interesting, right? And then now try to understand the pain area. Because of that they are not able to have a fulfilled life. They are not able to work in a fulfilled manner. And then they are going into less productivity thing. So this is the pain area. After you get this pain area, now give you a solution. See, I have designed a solution in a way people can able to help. People can able to reduce their anxiety by the method of games what I've designed by the kind of stress buster games what I've designed so that people can enjoy while playing and then they can their stress will be reduced. Is a solution. And after that give a call to action. So your call to action should be very simple. If you really like this project, we can connect further for the interview. If you really like to know more about this project, I would be really happy to introduce yourself. Introduce myself? So what happens is when people are seeing this in your LinkedIn, in your Behance, in your profile, in your video, in your website or anywhere, guys, people will have a lot of curiosity in you. No matter how your camera looks, no matter how you look, no matter how bad your sound is, no matter how your English is pathetic, it doesn't matter at all. Guys, I'm telling you, after talking to 12,500 students, I found English communication is not the problem for you to get rejected. Please understand that it's Your intention and your mindset and your clarity is what people will sense you and then they'll reject you or hire you. Okay, so what are you waiting for? Follow the six steps, collect the information and research. And second is do a deep research and ideate and create a redefinition of your problem. Third is segment your information and create a storyfication around it. 4. Fourth is use ChatGPT, Bard and Grammarly tools in order to structure and neatly write your case studies. Fifth is create a good visuals and illustrations and icons and align it in a beautiful way. And sixth is create a video and post it to the recruiters. If you're able to do this, guys, I'm telling you 100% sure if you just do this for three projects and apply, you will get a lot of invites from the recruitments. Okay, so let me know in this podcast, how do you apply, what are the struggles you faced and how much results you're getting? Okay. Because a lot of students applying this methodology has got tremendous results and they have got into the industry and they are still making a 2x3x leap after going there. Because this is not just a, what do you call, piece of information, it's a proven methodology that people are using in order to get results. Okay. If you need mentorship support to learn all these things in a more detailed way and structure your project and portfolio. Because I have a structure for how to make your portfolio, how to introduce yourself, how to really pitch to different organizations and get hired, even if it's a startup. Msme. So why don't you just send an email? Okay, so before experiencing, just have one clarity why you need to be a designer. With that clarity, if you email to the team, either me or my team will help you out to take this experience and you can design how it can help you out in going forward in your design career. Okay, thank you so much guys. Take care. All the best. Bye bye. Sat.
