Foreign welcome to this Spotify episode and it's been a very long time. I've recorded an audio welcome to this podcast channel, guys, designed for change. Thank you for staying tuning here. A lot of listeners have asked like it's only video podcast which has been going so far, so why not audio? So that's the reason I've recorded this. And I also wanted to address a very, very important pain point, what a design community is facing. You know what, it's been one or two years. I dropped my education, I started doing design, I started doing freelancing, I started studying courses. But I feel internally really bad. I don't know how to really overcome that block and get back to track as a designer and how to find my right job and which is my dream job and dream passion. Because people around me are really bullying me. People around me are building up a lot of pressure. I need to break that and start as a designer after a career break. This is one of the major, major pain points what a fresh design community is laterally facing. Okay, so in this particular podcast we are going to see that in detail. Yes. So the very first point, what you have to understand is there is nothing like wrong time or right time or something like that. It's all about when you decide something. This is the exact decision what I took for the design. That's the right moment. Do not get bullied from the others. It's not going to yield you any kind of a result. Because I worked with thousands and thousands of students, I came to know that internal factors which is pulling you is a lot more than the external one. The market is down, the recession is happening. Nobody is giving me job. Freshers are not required. They are asking experience. If I go for the experience people, they'll sell. We only require freshers, we don't want experience. So both of the sites people keep complaining, but nothing is true. Market is already there in India. Currently there are 1 35,000 vacancies available right now for a product and UI UX designer. It's up to us to go and find it out. Okay? So do not get worried about this kind of a bullying. Be very clear why you wanted to be a designer. Second, if you're taking a long career gap, please have a proper story. Why are you able to produce that career gap? Maybe you are recuperating from a health issue. Maybe you are trying to rejuvenate yourself first. Maybe you had a very earlier job which was not really happy for you. You wanted to quit that job and then you wanted to take a break and come back. So there could be the second reason also like you have to recuperate yourself to come back. Make that as a proper story and tell, I took a career back in order to make myself better version of me. That's the reason I did it. It's not like somebody else has thrown me out of the job or thrown me out of the skill incompetency or something like that. Okay? And prepare your own genuine reason. I'm just giving you an example. But it could be anything. Like maybe for some family reasons you would have not taken the design education or maybe the job immediately. Maybe for health issues, you would have lost some of the timeline. And maybe, let's say if you're moving for another city, you might have lost some two, three months in your career gap. So no problem. But stitch the story very carefully. Do not worry about others, just stitch it. If you're telling a very honest story, people will tend to get attracted towards that only. Okay? It's not about. It's not about who you are, it's about what kind of a story you tell. That's what people really get attracted. And the third last important thing is make sure you tell it with a confidence. There is nothing guilt here. Tell yes, I took a career gap. Tell yes, I wanted to switch to design. Tell yes, I quit my earlier job because I didn't like it much. Design is more creative. I wanted to come here. The third confident factor is the most most important factor people lack. When you're able to tell your story with a super confident. This is the exact reason I took a gap. This is the exact reason I wanted to come into design. This is the exact reason, even after two years, I'm still interested in design. See. So people will see. You took a two year gap, but still you wanted to come into design. So that will very clearly show that you're very, very, very super interested. That means you're very, what you call determined towards it. You're not taking any other decision. Like let's say I'll go for data science, I'll go for AI, I'll go for this trending technologies. You wanted to be a designer, right? And you waited for that two years. So use your career gap as a positive push and a pull to tell people that this is the exact reason which I also wanted to make sure that I'm in this field. And this two years has given me a thought also. Should I really stay in this field or not? So that in my life again, I will never take a second decision. This is my entire life so you can tell it very clearly. Once people are able to see the trust with you, there is nothing stopping. Guys, people will be more than happy to help you out whether you're applying for a job or freelancing or a client interaction or any kind of a thing. If you tell your story with a proper confidence with the reason why you wanted to be a designer, there is nothing stopping you. I hope this message is very clear. Don't be in the overwhelm. Don't be in the fear of what others will say, fear of judgment. Just keep writing about yourself clearly and have a confidence to tell to others and even publish it in your social medias. Also as a story in LinkedIn or maybe the Insta or maybe record a short reel. That's how you break that and come out okay. I hope this episode is very clear for you. Keep keep listening to the spot for Spotify and Apple episodes. We will be posting a lot of audios as well as video content. There'll be live demos also which you can watch. Okay, so keep tuning in design for change. We'll see you in another episode. Guys. Take care.
