Getting overwhelmed in design is very common. Lot of people in my community have asked me how to really prioritize their work in terms of design career, in terms of making them clear what is their priority, what they have to do first, second and third in this podcast, I'm going to help you understand why it is very vital to get it. The very first reason why people get lost is that they lack goals, they lack what are the true values in their life. In this particular description of the podcast, it's been given how you can able to first set your goal and how you can determine your values very simply. Okay, third, they have to now find out what is the one thing which they wanted to do. Now, in order to find that one thing, there is a small activity. Imagine that if you're out of the town for the next one month, okay, today you're leaving, tomorrow morning you're going for another city or perhaps another country. One month only you will be after this back to this particular place. Okay, so if you have to urgently travel for a month and you're coming back after a month only, what kind of an activities you will do to complete that first priority? Write it down. That's the third way. Okay, once you write that, then fourth step is complete. Circle that one important thing. Out of these 10 things, what is so important? Even if I don't do this 10, I will have to complete at least this one before I leave tomorrow. What is that one thing? Write down that and circle it. Bring it to a new sheet. Ask the other question. Out of this nine, what kind of activity which I have to do first in order to go for the next one month trip? Circle that, put the second, do the third, do the fourth, fifth, sixth. Okay, bring the three priorities. That's important because if you complete the first two tasks, remaining 80% will be left out because the 20 percentage of the first two, whatever you asked, is going to contribute 80 percentage value for your overall productivity. Okay, very simple. The fifth step is circle down that one thing and in that one thing break it down what are the substrips available. Once if you're able to get that clarity, what happens is then you will know what are the sequence and what are the priority, what you have. Okay, there is something called sequencing and priority. I will tell you most. If you get the task, then if you break down the task clearly, then you'll think about, okay, in which sequence? If I have to do it properly and then arrange it like let's say, if you do an activity like let's say if you arrange a folder or perhaps if you arrange a ppt, majority of your task will be done for the submission of your project documentation, let's say. Okay, but sending to email for that person for getting clarity is ideally the first step which because if you are waiting for that person to reply till the last of the project, it's not going to come. So do this as a first until that person replies some information for the completion of your project, you can do your documentation first, second. Okay, and after you get this information, then you can go back to your system and plug that data. What happens is people don't know where to prioritize and sequence these activities, which is a dependency from others, which is the activity they can able to do. And then they can able to build the project completely. So once if you get this information clear, then you will know what to sequence and prioritize in your one activity. Whatever I'm telling you see, everything needs to be done in a paper and pen. This is not a digital activity. If you want to do it effectively, do it in a paper and pen. Once. If you are able to do it properly, then you will also find out the sixth step is actually meticulously following that first step, the first sub step, without any distraction and complete it once the first sub step is completed, then go for the second sub step, then go for the third sub step, then you do fourth, then automatically your first task will be done. The rule is, once you're not doing the first step fully, don't move for the second task. Like let's say the second task could be ordering something in online. Don't do that. Only complete the first task and do it completely and then go for the second one. If you follow this one simple method and a technique, I'm telling you, you will have a far more different impression in your career, in your productivity than any of the designers out there. Okay, and here's the activity for you. Ask this one question. What are you going to do in this one day if you're traveling for the next one month? Okay, pause this video and then write it down. Second, in that, circle down the one important thing which you have to do it. Now circle down the second important, third important. Transfer it to a fresh sheet. Put that first task, write it down. What are the sub steps? Write it down. What are the dependencies you have? Other side. What are the dependencies you have and what are the sequence best possible way you can able to do the moment. If you plan it properly, guys, it will save you 10 times more time. One minute. If you spend in planning 10 minutes, it will reduce your time to execute it. If you plan it for five minutes, 50 minutes is same. If you plan it for one hour, 60 into five, 60 into 10. So that much of planning, if you are able to do it for a project, you'll be able to save that much of exponential 10 times of time in the later part of your project. It could be a one day project, one week project, that's up to you. But this is the proportion which I've learned from Brian Tracy who have written a book eat that frog. He's the number one guy in time management principles and it's like inevitable. Okay, you can find the description also to get that book and you can able to get it in Amazon or whatever is comfortable. You can able to buy that and start reading. Okay, so that's also an action point. So once you're able to clearly prioritize it. Now go and take action without completing the step one, don't go to the step. This is the rule of thumb. Okay? So if you are able to do this guys, you will know what priority to focus, what sequence to work on and you will see lot of your pending activities will keep on getting completed. Okay, I wish you all the best and let me know in the comment, what did you learn from this and what is your top three takeaways and what did you implement and what you were able to get some results out of it? Okay, so bye bye guys. See you.
