Mandatory for every designer out there who is working in this field. Okay, so what is that Jagdish? This is actually called design presentation. Okay, so a lot of people do a projects for years and they do it for weeks, for months. A lot of designers have a big problem how to present this work exactly to the people. People have a big time problem here. Jagdish, how to make my presentation better. I move some images here and there. I move some content here and there. I move my text here and there. So I don't know. Still my presentation is not looking good. Still my presentation is not getting attracted. Still the recruiter is not hiring me. Still the people are not even looking at my portfolio at any point of time. Yes, if this is what your internal mind voice is, this podcast is going to exactly help you. Okay, so take a lot of notes guys because if you just listen to it and leave, it's not going to make any sense. If you wanted to get a live demo visuals of it, you can go and subscribe my YouTube channel. The link is given below where I've also broken down some of the AI tools to help you at least 100x your PPT making skills in the next Few minutes itself. Whatever. You have been trying it for the days using the ppt, you can can able to get it in seconds if you use those AI tools. Whatever I told you, like pop, AI, gamma, AI, all these things.
Okay?
Yes. So the very first thing is. First of all, design presentation comes with an intention.
Okay?
Make a note of it. Intention is the first thing. If you're. What is your intention towards it? Are you intending to send it to the recruiter? Are you intending to send it to your client? Are you intending to send it to your internal team? What is your intention behind doing this presentation? Is it just to communicate?
Is it.
Is it to prove an idea? Is it to showcase your concept, make sure your purpose should be very clear? Second is create a flow. You need to have a flow in front of you. What are you trying to say through this? How are you navigating your user? The third is try to create an engagement factor.
Okay.
What makes this engaging? You can use pictures, you can use visuals, you can use some graphs, you can try to tell some stories. Ultimately people will like stories. Guys, see, there is a separate podcast I've recorded for how we can storify your projects.
Okay.
That you can go and watch it out. It will be much useful. But I would highly recommend if you watch that episode and come back here, it will be super useful.
Okay?
Yes, no problem. So once you're able to create a good engagement through a form of story, if you make a. If you want a very nutshell, story should have a hero. Story should have a goal for the hero. A story should have a afterlife. What the goal when the hero is achieving, how much he's going to enjoy. And story should mainly have a villain.
Okay?
How villain is going to abstract all this journey the moment? If you bring your case study in this storyfied way, the interest and engagement level will be very different.
Okay?
So think about it. And the fourth important element is you need to create some kind of a narration. Like let's say your narration could be in a form of sketches. Your narration could be in the form of some kind of a visual aids. Your narration could be in the form of prototypes. Your narration could be in the form of some demo. So make sure you choose that medium on what you're going to present this and cleverly execute it. Do not get overwhelmed. Just follow those four steps, okay? Create a very good intention, create a very good flow. Create a good engagement factor using visuals and all these things and create a narration for it.
Okay? It.
It need not have to be very complicated. It can Be even very simple as well. Okay, so now let's go for the tools. Okay, so what are the tools available? Jagdish what I can learn. So the first tool, what I would say is you can use a tool called Keynote. If you're a Mac user, it would be ideally useful. You can use another tool called PPT if you're a Windows user, Microsoft. So these tools are very much useful even if you're not connected in the online Google. Even if you're not having an Internet, you can still use this because it's a desktop based application.
Okay.
The flexibility what it offers is it uses large amount of transitions, it uses large amount of animations, it uses large amount of options like let's say SVG image, PNG image. Some of the SVG images are not editable in online PPTs but here you can able to edit it. Okay, so SVG means it's a vector based file. You can able to change the color and graphics and all these things. Particularly designer needs this SVG format to be used in his presentation.
Okay.
Some of the world's best keynote presentation for the TEDX are made in the software called Keynote. It's the Apple tool. Okay, you can use Microsoft PPD also. It also comes with a lot of features and benefits. I've used both of these things guys because in office I use Microsoft. In home I used Mac. So both of these softwares offers a great flexibility. You can able to try it out. Okay, There is another tool called Canva. Lot of people don't know this, so some people are very pro efficient in doing this. Canva is capable of doing everything guys. If you want ppt, you can use Canva. If you want to use video editing, you can use Canva. If you want to use documentation you can use Canva. If you want to create poster, you can use Canva. If you want to present box presentation Canva Mockup presentation Canva what is not possible in Canva is what you have to ask me. So Canva is a beautiful tool guys. If you are a designer, please invest in all these tools. In fact there is a free version also in Canva available. But I would highly, highly recommend to invest because it's not a very big investment. If you are worried about high quality presentations, please try it out. Okay, Next you can use a tool called Miro. In fact this is a very good mind mapping tool. In Miro there is an option called Frames. You can arrange your presentation in a way so that you can present the frames in a very simplified way. A Lot of people don't know this inside the Miro, okay, there is another tool called InVision. It's very similar to Miro. You can use it for showing your mind maps and there are pre built templates available inside. You can use it to present your work. There is another tool called FigJam.
You can.
Okay, you can use this presentation tool to improve it. In fact, this is also a very good mind mapping tool where you can able to present your ideas very clearly through the thought process of what you're trying to say. Okay, Jagdish, you're telling about tools and everything. What do I present? Being a designer, what is the checklist? Should I have see the moment? If you ask me what are the checklist, I would say you are very rigid in your thought process. Designer itself is a very creative job, right? Every problem statement, every project, every intention of your communication is very different. First of all, you will have to bring that checklist for you. Nobody can give you the checklist. Okay, the moment if I create a checklist, what happens? You will only stick for the one project but you will be doing as a designer multiple variety of projects in your career.
Right?
So think about it a little bit. Okay, so don't just follow any kind of checklist and all. Just be mindfully present in your project and see whatever is required and present it. That's it. Okay, Maybe I can give you a rough framework. Your case study or a project or a presentation should have a clear definition of problem statement. It should be shown some process. Okay, the very first thing is design a problem statement. Okay, problem statement should be there. The second is your design process should be shown. Third is very good high quality visuals and renders and high quality mock up should be there. You can use something called icon scout. You can use something called noun project. You can use something called free picks. You can use something called unsplash. You can use something called. There is another tool called what you call. There is a recently one tool which I saw guys which is very very beautiful for taking this images, high quality images.
Okay.
What is that? What is that? Free pick is one of the beautiful thing. Unsplash is one of the beautiful thing and you can use. It's actually a licensed image tool but you can pay some initial amount Nvato elements. Okay, Envato elements is a beautiful thing. Even if you want video edits, you can take it here. Even if you want some B rolls, if you want to take some post, if you wanted to take some 3D GIFs, everything is possible in Envato elements guys in Canva also it's possible but you can try to try to take it out.
Okay?
And then your presentation should have a high quality storytelling. The narration, it's very, very important.
Okay?
And the last but the very very important thing is call to action. See, no designers do it. Ultimately what are you presenting? Why are you presenting? You need to make the client come and take your project, right? You need to make the recruiter give you project or a job, right? You need to make the customer really like your project and sign up for further project, right? So what's your intention? Make that as a call to action in the final. Okay, so you need to have a design problem statement to be shown clearly. You need to show the process and iteration and failure and success of your whole wireframes and research and everything to explain your. You need to use high quality visuals, you need to use storytelling method. And finally you need to use call to action. If you're using this, your presentation will look super good. Let me give you one stat. 65% of the people are visual learners. So visual improves information retention. If you organize the information, it reduces the cognitive load. Always reduce text, always increase visuals. Because more visuals and less text helps people reduce cognitive load and improve memory retention. Because visuals are processed 60,000 times faster, your audience engages. 99% of the people feel that presentation with the visuals are more engaging. You can use a tool called beautiful AI. You can use a tool called tom AI. You can use a tool Called pop AI. You can use a tool, gamma AI. I just told you very fast guys, but please go to my YouTube channel. I've given you many live demo also for this, okay? But you can able to try on your own and get it out.
Okay?
So I told you the basic elements. I told you how we can able to simply structure your work and presentation. But end of the day, if your intention is not clear, if your flow in your presentation and navigation is not clear, if you're not creating engaging visual elements, if you're not creating a story narrative for it, if you're not having a call to action for it, ultimately you will have a failure in your presentation. It doesn't matter whether you're building a hundred page case study or one page case study. This is the science behind doing it. Okay? I hope you are getting the value in it. Maybe if you are a designer, if you are traveling and listening to this podcast, make sure you take a notepad and pen. Or maybe you can take your mobile and see your earlier project. Whether it is following them. If it is not, go back and edit it. Take your earlier one project. This is I am giving you as an assignment and activity, guys. Okay, so take out your old project, create that content and put it into a tool called Gamma AI. Okay, you can go to my YouTube channel and watch this in just minutes. You can able to get a beautiful presentation and you can put it back in your websites, you can put it back in your behance profile, you can put it back in your canva portfolio or anything, doesn't matter. Okay, you can use Framer, you can use Notion, you can use Slack. Many other different, different tools are there guys. It doesn't matter tool. All it matters is your intention. Okay, so put your content back and present yourself next time very carefully to the recruiters and then type out in the chat what did you learn from this entire podcast?
