Ep 279| How to crack Resume ATS - 7 Seconds to get hired & 5 Hacks

Foreign to tell you how you can able to crack with the resume what you have into any ATS system to get you hired really, really super fast. Lot of people have a big time problem in this process. In fact, application after application, rejection after rejection, going and applying in lot of job portals on top of it if you're not able to get it exactly, this podcast is for you. Okay, so I'm going to give you five important steps guys. First of all, make your resume first. What is your exact requirements, your achievements, your projects and make a very, very rough draft out of it. Okay, so start from this. This is your step one. Once you create this, then go for the online and find out what are the job description which you're really looking for. Let's say it could be product designer, it could be UI designer, UX designer or UI UX designer or maybe any other role. Whatever you're really looking for. Once if you're very clear about it, go and find out similar job description in many plat. Like let's say take 10 industries, take 10 companies and take 10 job description of the same role and put it in LinkedIn, glass doors or maybe you can put it in knockri, monsters, shine.com everything and copy all of those job description and put it into ChatGPT. Ideally, if you are my student you will know what is mean by Codex. If you have your codex document with you, you can merge that into this keywords in this job Description and ask ChatGPT to provide a very super clear output for you. Ideally if you are not of my student and you're listening from the outside, that's okay. You can find own projects and your old resume and the keywords aligning to that and make sure you upload it in the chat GPT and then use this particular job description what you collected from online and use a prompt saying hey chat GPT, analyze my entire resume and make sure you analyze the job description which are taken from multiple sources and provide me what are the keywords which I use, which I have to use in order to penetrate the SEOs. The moment when you are asking this charge bit will provide you exact content. The moment when you are getting that exact keywords. Now your job is to go and start writing your resume according to these keywords. Okay, this is the first thing. So in this I'll break down into four important things guys. First, use very simple keywords, use a very normal formatting, don't use high graphics, use 70% of the text and 20 to 30 percentage as a little visuals or Maybe empty spaces and all. Okay. And make sure you tailor those resume for your purpose. Creating keywords is not the point. Aligning the keywords with your sentencing matters a lot. Because while people are going through your resume for the 10 seconds or maybe 7 seconds or 8 seconds, they should be able to get you really, really super fast and mention you highlight your achievements, your awards, your rewards and big milestones in your career. If you do this four automatically, what happens? Your entire keywords, what you searched will be able to help you get across this. Okay. And there is something called effective cover letter. Because lot of people are very good in resume. They are also able to use the techniques, whatever I already said, but they were not able to get jobs still. The reason being you don't have a cover letter properly. First you need to have an opening statement in your cover letter. Guys, it should hook the people. Like let's say I am a designer who is having this kind of a strength. I have achieved this kind of an award. I have helped millions of people using the website, what I've designed. So open with a strong hook and make sure you mention your passion. Because the moment when you're mentioning your passion, it connects with the hook, whatever you're trying to say. And then you need to have a story behind you. Like let's say you as a designer, what is the story you wanted to tell? What is the story you are driven into this design field. What is the story which is very native for you in order to create a passion around you. See, Gandhiji has become very famous because of the story, what he has created because of he's been pushed by English people from the train and he got really emotionally drive and then he started the movement. Right. See, even somebody who doesn't know Gandhi, they will be able to connect with this one line, whatever I said. So stories are very powerful. Guys, you have a story and when you provide the story as a passion and when you provide a hook for the people and then finally, if you're able to solve some of their problems, what this company is facing through your strength and story, your cover letter absolutely rocks through any kind of a ATS system. Guys, people who are reading that, people who are software, who is going to read that everything is going to help you come up your profile at the top of the search because thousands and thousands of people are applying for the job industry, right? So you need to get past this resume system, you need to get past this applicant tracking system. The only way to do this is analyze the keywords, the way in which I told you how we can able to take from multiple places and use ChatGPT to get the exact keywords and use that simple formatting to align your resume carefully. Along with that and tailor make for each role and highlight your achievements. And then once it comes to cover letter, make sure you open with a strong hook and make sure your passion should be shown in that and very important your story should be connected. The moment when you have this, then you can build how you can able to solve company's problem using the story and the passion. What you got? So think about it the moment if you're able to solve the problem through this way and bring a very strong call to action. Whether it's a resume or a cover letter, your call to action should be very strong. Many of the call to action I've seen guys is really weak. People don't know how to even give a call to action people, they are just randomly putting some hyperlinks which is not even working in some resumes. So make sure you give a very strong call to action. And the moment when you do this guys, I'm telling you, you literally crack any kind of an application system because you are absolutely clear and people who are going to view your projects, they are clear, they have a dopamine hit by seeing your results and they can able to empathize with you very, very, very strongly and quickly. 75% of the companies use applicant tracking system 70% of the keyword optimization boost your applicant tracking system success.
