Foreign.
How to present your projects in just 30 seconds to 60 seconds and get hired. Lot of people have a problem on how to tell their projects in the interview, what to tell, what not to tell, how to tell based on what kind of interview, based on what kind of a person who is sitting in front of you. Everything is a big variable and this is a pain point for many of the designers out there who is having portfolio not getting job. In this podcast I'm going to give you simple steps, a very, very important four breakdown formula. You can use this four steps to tell any projects to get hired in any company for any role.
Okay?
So take a lot of notes. Let's jump in. Welcome guys. Welcome to this podcast. Thank you for staying tuning here today we have a very interesting problem, in fact very interesting as well as a very big pain point. People don't know how to tell their projects, they are very skeptical and they don't know how to exactly tell that. And lot of times they also have a problem of what if I don't tell lot of things, people will reject me and what if I don't use any kind of a jargon words, I may get rejected in these interviews, what if I don't know about my project and how should I manage inside? So all of these questions, all of these thoughts and negativity, what you have is going to get disappeared after you listen to this podcast. Okay, so first let me tell you why it is important see people like to see how are you a problem solver. People are not interested to see your landing pages and app mobile redesign. People wanted to see what's your problem solving ability. If I am taking a person for my company to work as a like let's say as a website builder, I will not look much into the earlier work what he did. I will look much into how he has come to this solution, how he has made those websites, what is the thought process he has gone and taken inside to build that website for a particular client. If he's able to showcase that clearly to me, then I will have a more conviction, similar mindset and ability that person will exhibit with me once he start working with me. I'm just giving you a small example because you can understand if a person who is really qualified to do a website design. First I'll try to understand how is this person working, Is he collecting the proper data before he doing the website design? Is he having all the assets and information ready? Is he done the primary and secondary research understanding the requirements of the website and who is their Target audience? Did he do any competitor analysis to understand the various graphical elements and information? Is he keeping out all the business angles in the mind before he start building the website and then how he is implementing and what tool he is implementing, how fast he is implementing and how usable it is. This is what people like to see. If you are showing only one screenshot of your landing page, what do you think people will expect from you? So please remove this thought process. First you need to show your problem solving ability and that to a very natural and raw way of solving it. Showcase before and after how it is very important. Always when somebody asks you to present your project, please remember you should always show your problem solving ability. You should show your skills through that, not the other way around.
Okay?
And you should also tell what is the impact before and after. After creating this kind of what you call a graphics or an engagement or an interaction, it drives people to engage in this website for more than 5 seconds. Earlier it was only 1 second, but now it was like 5 seconds. I've improved the engagement rate by 5x so you have to show the impact before and after. Okay, lot of people think I need to have a lot of projects to show a lot of details to explain. No, nobody has time span beyond 1 minute or 40 seconds to hear about your projects. Guys, people will be super bored unless until they ask you please explain it little detaily, do not give too much details and you don't have to even use a lot of jargon words. Guys, a lot of people have a misconception with this also. Oh, I need to explain this that simplicity is the actual sophistication. Make sure you are making a very simple statement about your project. I will tell you five key techniques how to do it. Guys, before we coming into the three secrets, okay? First, show the process, not just a result. Second, start with a very very strong opening. It should have a clear context. What are you trying to solve? What is the problem about? What is the project about? Third, empathize the impact of data and results and metrics. Make sure your project should be having all these metrics and data and statistics relevant.
Okay?
It should have been there while you are presenting. Fourth is tailor make a presentation for the people who is sending in front of you. Let's say he is a design head. If he is a recruiter hr, you don't have to go very technically detailed into it. So understand the people who is there in front of you and start. Fifth, integrate all of the specific terminology for your project. Let's say if you're working in a UI UX design industry, if it's a healthcare, if it's a fintech, if it's a AI based industry, if it's a technology based industry, if it's a project related to blockchain, whatever it is, bring those relevant keywords and integrate it then and only people can able to relate it to whatever you're saying. Okay, so the five steps is simple. Start with a strong context, show the process, not just a result, empathize the impact between before and after and tailor your presentation and then integrate the specific keywords. Okay, so now I'm going to go into the four secret guys, make it down very very carefully. Okay, so first of all, whatever projects you're giving, make sure it should have a hook. Second secret, it should have a pain point. Third secret, it should have a solution. Fourth secret, it should have a strong call to action. Okay, the pain hook pain area solution call to action. Let's go into detail of the first one. Okay, hook. First of all, whatever is your project, what you're doing, make sure you create a hook for that project. If you're not sure about initially to do that, I would highly recommend open ChatGPT screen and take care all any one project which you feel like you have to tell to the recruiters, copy paste all the content and put it into chat GPT and ask can you give me the hook, pain point solution and call to action for this project? Very simple prompt, you can just pause this podcast, open another tab in your browser and try it out. It magically works even if you're listening in your mobile. I would say open ChatGPT application, it's available in Android iOS copy paste a project, detail what you have in your behance or whatever your PDF or file, ask this, you will definitely see how the hook has been framed. And on top of it, once you're getting along very well with this tool, you can itself form a hook. Like let's say your project could be something like solving some what you call like let's say you're solving some problem of good touch and bad touch, you're going to create an awareness towards it and that's the project you have did. Okay, so now you wanted to tell to the recruiters this is a project we have did. So what is the kind of hook you can create? You can create a hook saying under age of 10, 70% of the women, 70% of the women, kids like, let's say the children, what you call girl children are getting trouble of bad touch and the big sad is they don't know they are really going through that bad touch. There is a very less awareness in the cities. This is the hook. See how interesting it is to start with. People will get to the topic oh, the the importance and the sensitivity or this topic will be very high. If you open up with this kind of a hook, then you can say the pain point is people are not even knowing that they are really getting into trouble. See hook following with a pain point, not the other way around. Hook following with the pain point. Because everything people gets connected initially in the first few seconds by your hook. Have you seen any Instagram reel? Have you seen any kind of video 30 seconds short series? The first three seconds is a hook. If people are not able to hook for the three seconds, they will not watch the next six seconds. This is how the LinkedIn and what you call Instagram and YouTube shorts and every algorithm really has been designed. So you need to mention that following which you have to solution. You have to give offer a solution. Okay, if this is awareness is there. We have created a learning material for the students. We have created a national weight campaign. We have created a social media blogging post. We have created a learning management application where kids and children's and all the faculties in the schools and colleges can learn very easily what is good touch and bad touch. And there is a number also available in our portal where people can able to complain to the nearest police stations and security. This is the solution what we created using the power of digital media. See, this is a solution what you're offered now. You should give a call to action if you are really interested about this. If you want to really spread a message, please spread to your friends. If you want to get in touch with me to know more about it. And if you want to collaborate in this initiative for awareness, please ping this email or send me a WhatsApp hi in this number or if you are sending for a recruiter, you can also tell if you would like to know more about this project and if you wanted to come and solve to your industry a similar kind of a project. I'm more open for a personal interview. Get in touch with me in this email. I'm available between morning nine to evening six. You have to remember these four things, guys. Hook, pain point, solution, call to action. Whatever project is there, you have to fit it. Jagdish, I don't know how to take for my project. Start with using the AI chat GPT what I told you.
Okay.
Second, you can able to start doing it in your own. No problem at all. Completely fine. Once if you're getting well along with the tools, slowly you can able to start working on your own as well. No problem at all. Because you know the project better more than anybody else, right? So think about it. So hook pain point solution, call to action. Anybody, if you ask in the interview, anybody asks you in the interview about tell about your projects or anything, you should only talk for one minute, explain that. And then sometimes if you are in the middle of the interview, you have to use a call to action saying hi sir, this is the project. And you know what? This much of women, this much of child, what you call girl child is getting what you call back touches under the age of 10. And the pain point is they don't know about this at all that they are going through this problem. And the solution what I offered is creating awareness in the primary and secondary school in the primary schools in India in the rural India to spread this message. And thousands of people have attended this and they have also got awareness out of it. This is the results what I've created. Okay, so now can I explain more about this approach? How did I use the design thinking process here? Can I tell how did the primary research I did with the kids to understand the topic? Can I talk about the ideation, what I did for creating solutions? Can I talk about the visual designs, what we created? Can I talk about the stakeholder study, what we did? You have to ask either one or two questions. If they say yes, can you talk about it? Then you have to go more. If they say okay, good, this project is nice. You got anything else project? That means they are enough with the one minute introduction. What you give simple. You need to sense the energy of the people who's sitting in opposite of you. Don't just keep on talking, talking and explain everything what they don't even need. Think for a second, think about it. What is the ground reality required there and talk only whatever is really really, really required. The moment. If you are getting like let's say a feeling that people are getting little bored, please stop it. You have to go for the next topic or maybe you have to ask for something else. Okay, so understand the reality and then talk about it. Next is you have to think about where is the interview going to happen. Is it a virtual interview? Is it a physical interview? Is it a phone call interview? Sometimes it's a message what you're sending. So make sure you prepare a you for your presentation of the project. What you have, you can watch a video in YouTube which I did a today live stream for my students. You can record your short video about your project in a tool called VEED IO VEED IO that's a very good AI editing tool. You can, you can record a video very very shortly. 30 seconds using this book Pain Point solution Call to action. You can take from the chat GPT and I did it live. If you want, you can able to see the YouTube channel live stream. I did a. I've shared my screen and I did a recording live also so that you can able to understand it first. Start with that if you're completely blind and if you're not able to use the tools properly. Okay, so once if you're getting along then you can create videos for all of your project. Let's say if you have 10 project, you need just a 10/30 video explaining this. Send to all recruiters in LinkedIn the short video. Send to all recruiters in email this video. Send to all recruiters in WhatsApp this video. They will be super happy to bring a very good call to action and a reply back to you. And send out your email ID or call to action or whatever along with that video. The moment when you are able to publish this. Guys, I'll tell you people while they're seeing your projects, their cognitive load will be super low because you have broken down the project very easily in one minute to explain them. And provided if you're giving a logic and data, people have a quantifying results to see. And if you are building a story around it, automatically the empathy increases. This is a neuroscience behind the recruiter or the people who is going to review your video or a project or portfolio. You're reducing their cognitive load. You're bringing the data under structure properly by having a quantifiable result. And you're telling the story through it very emotionally. Because AI and automation roles have increased by 70%. Guys, you need to understand by using these AI tools and technologies, you'll have to create this kind of a faster videos so that you can able to show to lot of people about your projects. In fact, you can use Gamma AI tool to bring presentations. You can use Miro Assist, figjam and all these AI tools to do a lot of quantitative research. And you can use CHAR GPT to build a big case study for your project. And you can use many tools like Weed in video AI. These are all very good video editing tools to create a stunning video for your presentation of the project the moment when you have it. And if you put IT in a social media platforms guys, you are automatically going into the lot of visibility with the market. So AI roles are increasing by significantly 2025 guys. If you're targeting about a technology industry, your portfolio and your introduction and your personality should reflect that you are a tech guy.
Okay?
So a clear structured project explanation will increase your job offer by 40 percentage. I would say if you do it properly you will increase by even 400 percentage 4x you can increase statistics says 40 percentage. Think about it. And 93% of the employers prioritize soft skills over the technical skills. So think about it guys. Even you can use figjam kind built video tool, you can use loom video tool, you can use Miro Assist inside video tool. There are a lot of tools available guys. It's not about tool. Think about how it's going to be helpful for you.
Okay?
