Foreign how to avoid fear in the interviews. People have a problem in attending the interview or not knowing what to talk. And even if they know what to talk, the fear takes over and they get into a state of nervousness, trembling. And also sometimes they forget whatever they want to talk about and really mess up the interview. So how to overcome this? In this podcast, I'm going to give you simple five steps how you can able to crack it without any doubts. Okay? So let's jump in. Welcome guys. Welcome to this Design for Change. Thank you for staying tuning Here in this podcast, we are going to see a very, very important topic. How to talk in the interview. How to overcome the fear. Okay, See, anxiety is very common. We cannot say. We can, we can work on very easily. It's a very big problem for many people. Okay? But you will have to face this. There is no other way to do it. There is no shortcut. Okay? So particularly when you're approaching any kind of an interview, or even when you're talking with the recruiters or in a casual way, or in a formal way, it doesn't matter. You will have to first be prepared before doing that. See, when you are prepared enough, 80 to 90% of your fear is already gone. Remaining 10 to 20% is anyway there. You can't do anything. Even people who are attending CEO interview or anything also, they will have this kind of nervousness and fear and everything. But the point here is you will have to minimize that risk as a candidate. We will have to showcase how we can able to minimize those things in order to get us more chances of hire. Okay? So that's very important. So first, let's do step one. Ideally, if you follow the activities, whatever I'm discussing with you in this podcast, and do it parallelly along with me, it would be super helpful because if you're just listening to this podcast and leaving, nothing is never going to happen. Okay, first, you will have to write about yourself. Can you Write at least 5,000 words? Can you write at least 500,000 words about your strength, your achievements, your projects, your weakness, your. Your big emotional reason why you wanted to go into design? And can you just write about your professional experience and summarize what is a significant improvement what you had in your career, what are the reason you're here? And why don't you make the major achievements and key accomplishments, including sports, including art and crafts, including your engineering education, or maybe if you're art education, if you're a school, if you're an office, if you're doing anything Try to bring out that. Okay, that's the very first thing. Second, try to connect the dots. Okay? Very important. You will have to do alignment based on what relates to your current skill set and the design. Whatever you're applying for. Like let's say you may be a product designer, you may be a UI UX designer, you may be any any designer. It's not a problem. But you will have to draw some parallels in your earlier achievements. Like let's say if you have won in sports competition or maybe if you won in singing competition or maybe if you're won in storytelling. Try to bring that experience how that storytelling ability is making you shape as a product designer. In order to do a UX research in order to tell a story for your project. How are you building the applications and website based on the storytelling ability? What are the story you are communicating to your projects for your customers through your project, what you did currently. So you should bring that relativity here. Yankeesh how should I do it? First, you will have to write about yourself in the step one properly the moment when you write it. Second step becomes very easy to connect it. At least you will need to have 20 different story and the connect points for your career, for your projects, for your, for your achievement, for your strength, weakness, everything. If you're saying you're a very good strength in like let's say problem solving, you should show in your past experience or your childhood or maybe your college days, how did you solve certain problems? You don't have to always be a product designer and do some case study in the behance and then only you're a problem solver. No, remove this BS Thoughts. You have to showcase your existing ability. Maybe you could have helped your friends, maybe you could have helped your family. Maybe you could have helped somebody solve their problems in your own way of doing that. Let's say if somebody has what you call money stolen from their bank account and then you help that person find out that money back using various methods, try to document that, try to bring that design process into it naturally. What did you do? How did you approach police? How did you approach cybercrimes? How did you approach this with the psychology? And how did you interact with the user to find out the problem and how did you really get back there money even that could be a real time scenario. So try to connect the dots. Third, try to medicate your projects. Use the star model guys. Star situation, task action result. If you can't describe the context of the project and the specific responsibility, what you took and the massive action, what did you take and the results what did you produce? You cannot really get past any interview. Definitely you will get into fear. Your fear takes over. If you have don't have this chatish. How do I prepare it? Take your projects, write this st and bring out results. Means don't just tell I've improved the user engagement. Tell how much it is improved. 3x5x or maybe 10 steps is reduced to 2 steps. Or maybe 2 steps is reduced to 1 step. So bring out the impact what people have got because of that. Okay, this is the third step. 4. Prepare a different length of interviews. Like let's say if somebody is going to ask you tell about yourself, you need to tell them in 10 minutes also. You need to tell them in 5 minutes also 3 minutes also 2 minutes also 1 minute also 40 seconds also. How do I apply this Jagdish in different way? Let's say if you're in depth formal interviews you can use a 10 minute script. If you're in a very focused meeting like let's say three to four people are there then you have to keep it less than 3 to 5 minutes. If you are in a phone call 2 to 3 minutes script works. If you are somebody who is just messaging about the people or maybe just a quick call. If somebody is having 40 seconds at one minute script works. So you will have to prepare those information guys like let's say hi, my name is Jagdish. I'm a mechanical engineer turned product designer. I have. I'm just giving you an example. Okay. Hi, I'm a mechanical engineer. I am a product designer. I have totally 73 plus projects in my career. I've got one national award for medical product mentality design called Lumi. I'm a top skill. I'm known for the top skill of user research and bringing out creative ideas and bringing out a new perspective for the project. Using this particular three skills I've applied in this project and I got a product which is done in 100 days and I'm very well working along with the team and I'm good communicator and using that strategy. I'm working with 10 to 15 people in this project with a very short span of time to deliver this in hundred days. We developed this project, we got a national award for this. And similarly I'm also looking for an opportunity in your company where I can able to intervene and work like this. See in one minute I told you what about myself and about the relevant experience. And I also told about how I'm suitable there. So based on your minutes, what you got, you will have to use this. How do I prepare this? Jack this. This all comes from the step one ways. Step two guys, step three step fourth will come after that only. Okay. Ideally if you are my student, there will be a process called Codex document. You don't have to worry about anything. Your codex document will exactly produce you. Because that acts like a AI copilot for you. And then you will be able to prepare in minutes. Even you can prepare a 3 second script, 10 second script, 30 second script, 1 minute script. Yes possible. That is the power of having Codex. If you're still wondering what is mean by Codex, you can click the gift below to register for my upcoming webinar where tell you how you can able to reach 1 crore per annum in design in next three years. Where I'll break down the simple six step formula where you can learn the power of one. And using that you can able to prepare your codex and get your level up game in just very very quick span of time. Because you are going to increase your salary, potential and growth in your design career only by applying what you have to talk in interviews and know it. If you're not prepared enough, definitely it will become a problem. Okay. So 40 second pitch is one of the most most prevent. Guys, it's like you can practice it again and again. Okay. And the last step which is a fifth step which I wanted to tell you is practice repetition. Whatever you did so far will become invalid if you don't practice. First you have to record yourself and listen to it. When you listen to your voice, I'm telling you guys two, three times. If you do it, you will be significantly improving in your communication. Next time, don't feel shy, don't feel bad, don't feel lazy about it. Do it. Because I myself have did that. I myself have watched my recordings and webinars and audios and everything. Because I will know what I'm talking, what tone I'm using, what is the communication that I'm making, what mistakes I'm doing. You have to get somebody accountable or mentor to get the feedback from those person. Also if you're not using that, you cannot improve. And make sure you repeat it until you get confidence. Guys, this is a simple step. Write about yourself, connect the dots, use the star model and medicate your projects. Prepare a different different length of interviews. 10 minutes, 5 minutes, 3 minutes, 2 minutes, 1 minute and 40 seconds. And practice until it becomes supernatural. The moment when you're doing this guys, I'm telling you, you are going to get any interview cracked. I hope this podcast would have given you a great clarity.
