Foreign is very important. Being a product designer in this podcast I'm going to tell you the steps, how we can understand the importance of branding and using the simple techniques, how you can start building your brand in social media presence so that you get lot of chance and edge compared to any other designers out there who are looking with a generic nature of searching the job or networking with the people and building the trust among them. Okay, so now let's jump into this podcast. Welcome to this episode guys. Thank you for staying tuning here in this design for change. I really, really happy and I want to wish you that happy Deepavali for all of the people who are listening out there and people are out of the country in India maybe I don't know which special day is, but anyway it's a festive occasion in India, so that's the I'm telling you this. Okay? So the reason why we are recording this podcast is it is very important in this day and age for the digital presence to happen for a product designers out there in the market. Lot of people are looking for a generic kind of a job like let's say putting I'm aspiring designer, I'm aspiring product designer, I'm aspiring UI UX designer. Give me job, give me freelance. Do you think this kind of a statement is going to ever help you out? I'll tell you first of all why branding is important. It makes you unique, it helps you build connection, see more opportunities. Also your trust and credibility becomes higher. See whether you are any designer, it's very important guys. First of all, if you are not understanding this differentiation from the crowd, you will not be able to grow further. And I'll tell you, your entire career, particularly the long term career, is built exactly based on the brand value what you're building. I'll tell you what are the mistakes people do you know what, they create some kind of a LinkedIn post, they create some kind of blog article, but they are not consistent. They are thinking only. This is for creating some kind of an engagement with the people. And a lot of people will comment back them. A lot of people will give them an interview chance. See, don't have that kind of an expectation. It is for branding yourself. Your expectation should be no, but your intention should be there. Why are you branding that is based on your intention? Like let's say some people like to stand out, some people like to get hired. Some people wanted to put a message to this world. So whatever is your intention, please have that clarity, okay? And then I will tell you one mistake also People try to appeal to everybody. No, don't be generic for all. It's not possible. Be focused on why you have started your branding channel and what is the kind of intention you have. See, ideally, if you are my student, you would have written a document called Codex. Okay? And I've given, I mean I'll give you two prompts also. Okay? When you put these two prompts into your Codex document, automatically you will get your brand statement. What is more aligned to you? If you generically ask in ChatGPT, it will not give you. It will tell you, hey, you have a website. Hey, you have a, what you call LinkedIn blog article here, you post some reels. No, but when you have this kind of a publishing channel or the kind of strategy for the brand, for your interest, your goal, your value, your field of interest and your niche clarity in design, you will have a much clearer reason why are you starting your branding channel. Maybe in your Codex document it could come like a website. Maybe it could come like a podcast channel. Maybe it could come like a LinkedIn blog article page. You have to write every single week twice. So your language of the brand will come from the Codex document what you filled. Okay, you can use this prompt, guys, best of min based on the profile goals and the mission and vision and value, please provide a branding strategies what I can do being a fresher in design. This is the first prompt. Okay, second prompt. To achieve my goal in the next three months, what kind of a steps should I follow from this branding step? Whatever you said, give me a 31 day game plan or a 45 day game plan. Very simple prompt. But this kind of a prompts really work better in ChatGPT because I've used it hundreds and hundreds and thousands of times to make sure these prompts are working properly and I've consistently driven that. That is why in my Codex document, all of the prompts are engineered with multiple iterations so that you get the best optimal output from your earlier document. Okay? If you ask it generically, ChatGPT will give you some answers. Okay? So you will have to know how to operate this large language machine learning model in order to work for your favor. Good. How and what are the steps to master this jagdish? You're saying it's important. I'll tell you. First thing is guys, once you create a unique value proposition, put your strength and weakness over there, list what is your strong skills and list down your proper style. Second, think about your audience whom you wanted to target. Third, craft a very, very clear, precise Brand statement. Like let's say if you're a designer, don't tell design. Talk about being a designer. I want to help small scale businesses being a designer, I want to help large corporates being a designer. I want to help financial management applications to be very smooth and simple and easy for everybody to operate. So think about that. And then now you build the online presence, establish a very good visual language, create color consistency, font style consistency and also create some kind of a short engaging post or videos or reels or blog articles or anything. See guys, first of all I will tell you what topics to choose. Whatever is your big pain area, your weaknesses. Let's say you are very weak in visualization, you have to start Instagram channel to post some visual reels. Simple. If you are very weak in communication, you have to start podcast channel to start talking something. You're not doing it for others, you're doing it for yourself first. Okay? So whatever is your weakness, that becomes your first strategy to start with. Hey Jagdish, I'm weak at it. That's the reason I'm exactly telling you to do it. Okay? If you're feared, if you're scared, I mean I would say don't expect any results in your career. You will be substandard normal for the rest of your life. This podcast is not going to add any value for you if you're not adding, if you're not taking action. This podcast is entirely waste of time. You can at least switch off now and listen something else. Okay, Giving you as a caution, once you create some kind of small content, then you can publish in LinkedIn or any platforms like Dribbble, Instagram or your personal website or maybe a blog article. Nowadays writing blog articles becomes very easy. You can use ChatGPT properly to rewrite your sentences in a story format in an interesting curiosity format. Many other formats you can able to create. Okay, so once you're able to create this, now personalize the language. Make sure your language should be very simple, minimal, bold. Also it should connect with the people and also create a lot of emotional triggers because people would like to see a call to action, right? Give them a link for your website, give them a link to send you an email, give give you a phone number, give you a contact so that people who are there reading it there to get back. Okay? The moment when you do that, lot of people will reply, you guys and go and watch whoever is commenting on your post, whoever is commenting on your podcast or anything, okay? Make sure you network with them. Sometimes even HRS may interact with you. Go and contact them, Just ask them, what do you feel about this? I'm very good in this skill. Is your company having this particular skill set? Can I come for an interview? Can I attend this? So create some kind of a trust and the confidence based on this kind of thing. The moment when you are able to do small, small things every single day. And if you're enjoying this and also when somebody is replying you, when you are putting this as a testimony properly like you can able to take that screenshot and put it in your website. Like let's say if somebody's appreciating you. Your blog is good, I found it useful. I'm able to implement it in my project. Take that snapshot of that person testimony, put it in your website. Maybe that designer has 15 years experience and then he has got benefited from your value. That's great, right? See the moment when you go and talk in the interview, hey, I'm a product designer. I'm very aspiring what you call problem solver. I'm doing research and I know product ideation and I know sketching and I know all the design, thinking, process and skills and I will be able to solve the problem. Please invite me for the interview, please hire me, please look at my portfolio. If you're telling like this category, let's say this is the first case. Second case, the moment when you're saying, hi, I'm Jagdish, I'm having a podcast channel where I talk more about how small scale businesses can get benefited from the power of research. No, small businesses do a proper research. They say that it's a waste of cost, no time is there. But I will tell you, if you build your businesses with a strong research foundation using the power of primary research and secondary research, you guys can able to build a stable business. And I'm particularly very, very focused and keen and I'm more interested in that. I published close to 1015 articles in that and I've recorded three deep podcasts in that. And I've also created two case studies in my project. Would you like to interact with me? See, you're talking about their pain point which is your interest. And also you have a brand for that. They will never treat you like a fresher. They will never treat you like a 3.25 lpa salary guy. They will never, never, never have a second thought to miss you. So personal brand is very, very important guys, I just showed you an example. But let me tell you to close this podcast, 70% of the hiring managers value personal branding. Consistent brand increases your visibility up to 25 to 23 percentage. And I'm telling you neurologically wise, if people are seeing your website, your branding, your LinkedIn, your Behance with the same color, consistency and language, their retention for you will be very higher. Okay, I hope this podcast would have been so useful for you. We talked about three things. Creating a unique value proposition, building an online presence. Personalize the language in that we talked about reflecting your strength and weakness. Target your ideal market, craft a brand statement, ensure the visual consistency and then share the content in online and make sure you get reply and a comment for that. And also create some kind of an emotional triggers in order to reply back to these people and then start interacting and networking with them. Once it aligns with your brand language as well as your message as well as your target market, I'm telling you guys, you will start getting results. Social media is like farming, it takes little time for you to get your results. It's not like a hunting game. But consistency is the key guys. Okay. I hope you love this podcast.
