Why setting goals is very important being a designer. When I talk about this topic, 80% of the people don't listen. They think, hey, how does it going to make an impact in my career here? What is goals? Yeah, I want to become a great designer. Hey, I wanted to make rich, I wanted to help my family. I want to live a happy life. I want to live a healthy life. For your information, this is not goals. This is vicious mere wishes, fantasy, crazy people has this fantasies and desires. There is absolutely zero percentage chance that this will happen in real time unless until you know what is goals and how you can set it. Okay, so welcome guys, welcome. So this is a podcast which is going to give you clarity on how to set goals and why setting goals is important and how does it really going to impact in your design career. Okay, so thank you for staying tuning with me in this podcast for design for Change. Thank you so much guys. Subscribe for my future episodes and give me a best rating if you find these podcasts are useful. I've been recording podcast for what do you call very recently, but lot of impressions have happened in Spotify and other platforms and people from different countries are giving me a very good feedback for it. So I would also suggest you to send an email after you listen to this podcast of what you learned, what is action forward and you can also tell some pain points which you wanted to address. Okay? Yes guys. So with that being said, now let's dive into the topic of goals. Sound vibe. What's up? Yeah, welcome guys, welcome. So now let us understand why it is important to set goals. See guys, I'll tell you one thing, it's a real study done. People who have written goals is only 20 percentage. Okay? 80% of the people don't know what they're doing. If you randomly go and ask 10 people in the road, do it now, don't just believe me. Eight people will say I want to become healthy, I want to become happy, I want to become rich. I wanted to be successful in my career. This is not called goals. Goals will not happen like that. Way out of this 20 percentage people, only 3 percentage people have a clear written goal. What is this clear written here? Something you're adding? I'll tell you guys, okay? When the step comes. So out of this, 3 percentage people, 1 percentage people really become successful. Okay, let me connect you the other way around. 99 percentage people of the world work for the 1 percentage people in turn people who work, people who work for the one who has goals, people who don't have Goals work for the people who have goals. Let me repeat you again. People who don't have the goals work for the people who have goals. Which is 1% of the people have clear, written, concise goal. And 99 percentage people are working for them to achieve it. Take Facebook, take Amazon, take big industries. Right? They set the vision, they set the goal. They set the mission. 99% of the people are directly and indirectly working for them. If you really want to check it, go and ask in the road. Guys, out of this 10 people only two people will tell something clear. But out of these two people only one guy will be really clear. It is like when you take for crores of people. This data becomes very, very, very, very clear. So this is why we need to have goals. If we needed to really make a tangible career output of it. Okay, now the second part is how to set goals. Jatish, you're saying goals is important. You're saying some statistics and all you. Yeah. This is a study done. Guys, I'll tell you how to sit. When you're writing something you wanted to achieve in your career make sure to write it in the format of smart which is smart. Smart goals they call. Okay. I learned it from my mentor. Smart is specific. If you wanted to become successful in your career, you're writing that as a goal. First of all that's wrong. Okay. You need to write what exactly want you to make you successful in your career. I want a good job to make it specific. Guys, I wanted to make it a job as my successful thing in my career. Okay, good. Measurable. What is that? Measurable. S stands for specific. M stands for measurable. Okay, measurable is. I want a job which is from 9 to 5. Which is from full time job, Saturday, Sunday holiday. And I wanted a job which is like 60,000 per month salary. Or maybe 1 lakh per month salary. See how measurable it is. And I wanted to achieve that with my skills of design skills, sketching skills, research skills, prototyping skills, presentation skills. See, you're writing the reason and the measure. See, all comes value and the exact numbers. Okay. Third achievable. Don't till tomorrow morning. I want 1 lakh rupees per month job. You itself know that will not happen, right? See, goals has a potential to make sure whatever you write happens. But you know how it is achievable or not. Okay. Fourth is relevant which is like. You know like what kind of relevance you are. You cannot write something very different. Go tomorrow I'll go to moon. You don't Know you, you know, like that is totally irrelevant for you, right? If you are an astronaut, if you are aspiring to be an astronaut, that's a different thing. And this is relevant. Fifth is time bound. See guys, people will do this. Yes, I'm ar. Okay. They'll write a clear written way. Okay. I wanted to work in the best design studio in India, which is IDO. I wanted to earn 24 lakhs per annum. Yeah, that's good. When after becoming 60 age old, I wanted to do it before the end of this year. Okay, See you need to have a timeline, guys. Subconsciously you will have a programming of when you write a timeline. Your activities will change accordingly. Your priorities will shift accordingly. You will meet right people happening. You will meet right people. For that particular related goal, you will randomly talk to a guy in LinkedIn who is working in IDEO, who is working in a big design studio where you really wanted to aspire to work for. You can ask them, hey, I want to come there. Can you just tell me how, what skills I can learn? Yeah, anything will happen. See guys, the big magic of goals is you will try to visualize yourself clearly. You will try to find right circumstances and situations coming to you. See, I'm not talking anything which is like a magical Jaduga topic and all. When you write goals, you will try to find things gets attracted to you relating to that. Okay, let's say if you wanted to get a very big successful career in design, you'll try to find emails which is coming to you which is more relating to design, materials, learning, improving skills. Previously also that emails would have come but you will not get focused towards there. Why? Because you don't have goals. You're just saying I'll become successful one day, right? I'll become successful some other day. Someday I will. But now you are having a clarity. And then what you're doing is you are finding out that patterns now. Okay? You'll find people, you'll find circumstances. You'll find situations relating to your goals. This is where if you write smart, smart goals, it will happen. You can use it for anything, guys. You can write it for a relationship. You can write it for solving some problem. You can write it for actually making what you call creating wealth. Hey, I wanted to earn so and so money before end of 2024. I wanted to put it in five different accounts. I wanted to create a savings account, I want to create a charity account. I wanted to create a wealth account. I wanted to create a travel and vacation account. I wanted to earn 10 lakhs rupees in cash before 2024. Yeah. See very specific, very measurable, achievable, relevant time bound. Let's say if Your salary is 20,000 now, okay, you want to earn 20 lakhs per annum before next one year. Make sure your steps are aligned for that. Then and only your subconscious will automatically write down that and then you will be able to achieve it. Or else you will not be feeling comfortable. When you write that goal, you will strike out that. See there is a pattern to do it. Guys, goals is a very deep subject. I've taken more than 200 plus hours to learn goals and implement it. I've spent thousands and thousands of rupees from a mentor to learn this subject. It it's not easy. I just making this podcast to get sure to make sure you are pointed out properly how many people have written goals and how many people have become success. How to write goals using smart format. How you can visualize and have a clarity for that, right? Two things. The third thing is how you can make it as a habit. See, you need to write the goals again and again. I'll tell you how the first day when you write a goals, use a spiral notebook for doing this activity. Guys, okay, go and get a very good spiral notebook and go and buy a very good pen of your choice. See you need to spend on this guys because it's for your career what you're doing. Don't use some. Some ballpoint pen, pencil, this, that and all. Use a high quality diary, high quality material of pen or something. You will find it. Seriously, when you do this activity for you, I'm saying, okay, you're not going to invest for anybody, right? So the day one, let's say if you're writing some goal. Hey Jagdish, I wanted to. What do you call, I wanted to take my family for a vacation for this five star hotel and spend a dinner time with me on like let's say December 24th before day of Christmas. That's your goal. Okay, that could be a family happiness goal. Don't write I'll make my family happy. Make sure you write a specific. See, I've told you. I'll go to a Hayat hotel, five star hotel. I'll take my family along with my wife, along with my mom, dad, along with my kids. I'll make sure I'll. I'll spend that dinner time with them and then I'm coming back. See, you're writing a specific moment. The moment you write it, you visualize. Okay? Okay. Next day, whenever you're starting a day, just write your goals again. Try to recollect that yesterday, if you would have written 10 goals, what you wanted to really accomplish in your in your next one year or five years. Ideally you can write for 10 years also. But you can write for one year also. That would be a start of it. Okay. When you come inside my course, I create a framework and help students. How they can precisely write a one year plan for them. How they can precisely write in next six months, three months. What they can do, what are the skills they can do to achieve that? So this is totally a different, very deep one. But I'm saying you can write 10 different goals what you want in one year. Next day, when you use a spiral diary, you can flip it. Do not see what you have written yesterday. Try to write fresh. 10 goals for next one year. 3 things will happen, guys. You will find lot of goals changed. Okay? Second thing, when you do it for third day, fourth day, when you're trying to rewrite it, your priorities will change. Someday you would have written, I wanted a good design job. Someday you would have written the second. As I want to earn this much of money. Third is like, I want to take my family fortress. Like I wanted to buy a car. Okay. Okay. When you go to the next page, next day you will write, I wanted to go for this job no matter what. In next three months, remaining goals will automatically happen. See, your first important priority goal will go up when you rewrite it continuously. If you rewrite it for 21 days, guys, I'm 100% giving you in writing. Whatever you procrastinated for six months, it will just happen in 21 days. You might be thinking, I will read this book. Hey, I will watch this movie. Hey, I will go and talk to this person. Yeah, I will go and apply for this design job. Hey, I will earn 30 percentage more than what I'm earning. You would be procrastinating for six months. One year, right? Just rewrite goals for next 21 day, guys. Okay. You will see that happening in just 20. In just 21 days. Six months effort, you will put it in 21 days. Because that much of waste, clutter, activities you're removing. You're just trying to impress someone with your activities and everyday things. When you write goals, you will know what you want. You would have written I want a car. But ideally speaking, you would have not needed a car itself. Why to spend 10 lakhs on that? You could have put it in a savings, right? See, you Will have a clarity. First day cars would have car vacation. All these things would come. But eventually going forward. Hey, if I reach this financial situation only I'll be able to achieve freedom of my life. Taking my family to outside, saving some money, spending on buying a good car. All these things will come, right? See, you need to know what you're going to lead to. Then you will have a clarity. Next you can have an accountability partner to make sure you are writing goals properly. If you are in my program, I'll help you. Like each and everybody will have an accountability partner. Because we are not God. Okay. We need to install a good habit. And then we need to understand how that is really happening. Okay. Then that person will also write goals. You will also write goals. So write it 21 days. Do not do it for lifelong and all. It's okay, fine. But try for 21 days in that format. Whatever I told you. And then let me tell you guys, your life will explode in different. Different direction. Whatever you write goals, you'll feel that things are happening. You'll feel that kind of a moment will happen. Hey, somebody will come and give me a very good present today. Yeah, you write that. Definitely somebody will give you some random gift if you write that goal clearly. See guys, I've seen lot of case studies people who have not got job. They got job in just five days. One, even one week. The moment you know how to write a goal clearly you can see magic happening in one week. You would have procrastinated that for six months. One year. I've seen people getting six months financial goals achieved. I've seen a girl whom I helped with. Her name is Kritika. She achieved her goal in just two months. After writing it properly. I've helped a guy called Caleb who got 3x salary. Growth like that is like huge. In fact he has written smaller goal. But he has achieved more personally. I guided him. So I can keep on telling you lot many stories like this. People will achieve results once they're able to clearly show what they wanted to go. I've helped people getting relationship goal. I mean I've just asked them to write the goal. But that relationship goal happened a personal, personal, financial related goal. I wanted to get a house of this particular amount of this particular year. That guy has achieved that house related goal. Before that written timeline. So magic will happen guys, when you know how to write a goal. Okay, so think about this topic. Don't ignore this. People don't know what they wanted in their life. Right? If you wanted to know first of all understand, people who have goals are only 1 percentage people who don't have goals, 99%. So 99% of the people work for the people who have goals. Simple guys. Think about your company's manager, your CEO, your big boss and where you are right now. Think about the big business owners. You will know what you have to do to reach there if that is your passion. Okay, so this is a call to action, guys. Rewrite your goal for 21 days, have an accountability partner and do it consistently and make sure you visualize it every single day. Okay? So thank you so much guys. I think this podcast would have given you clarity on how to set goals and how you can achieve it and how you to become a 1 to 3% people in the society. So thank you so much. If you have any feedbacks, you can drop in an email. If you want to connect with me for my coaching, you can check because I normally qualify people for that.
