Okay?
It's all about strategy. I'll be recording a second part of of this podcast also. The first part is gonna give you how you can get started with a tool called LinkedIn. How you can get your informations into it so that your job search and visibility is up to 20 to 40 times more. Okay, with that we'll dive into this topic. Please take a notes. Lot of notes, guys. And also I recommend you to open a LinkedIn page parallel if you're listening to this podcast. Okay, yeah. Now let's dive into it.
Foreign guys.
Welcome, welcome. So now let us understand what we can do in terms of doing LinkedIn.
Okay?
So there is a lot of strategies which I'm going to be telling you, okay? There are more than 10 strategies and steps which you can go through in LinkedIn when you're setting up a page.
Okay?
So first of all you need to be clear why you are actually having an account in LinkedIn. See, it could be for a fresher job, it could be for a freelancer, it could be for people who are jumping from one career to another career or maybe from an experienced person into another corporate ladder climber. So you have to know your reason why you are in this LinkedIn.
Okay?
You need to have that clarity. And then when you open a LinkedIn page, you will see something called a cover page, cover photo and your profile photo. Remember this guys, it needs to be very, very, very highly att.
Okay?
If your profile is activated for All Star, then your visibility in the market is 40 times more and you will be contacted 40 times more compared to the normal beginner expert level and 18x faster results you will get. That's the stat which I read. So you have to understand your profile will get more notified if you are experienced and if you are able to click that all star category and make sure that portfolio or the Resume or the LinkedIn profile, what you have showcases that quality.
Okay?
So because all star portfolio or all star LinkedIn profile takes a lot of time to create but on a basic level you can do by following the steps and strategies which I'm giving you. Okay, so the first step, what I told you is creating a high definition picture. So you can use tools like canva, you can use tools like BG remover, okay so you can create a very good picture of you using a probably if your friend or somebody has iPhone, if you, if you have iPhone you can take it or maybe you can ask your friend to borrow a day very good DSLR camera to take a very good high definition picture. Use Canva and BG removers to remove your background and make sure you add some gradients and color fill background. You can able to create a high definition picture. You can go to Canva and give something pixels like 1600, 1600 size so that you can able to create a very good profile in LinkedIn. Guys, it's very simple and it's very much possible. Every designer non designers can use Canva and all this stuff. You don't need a big Photoshop or photo editing knowledge for it.
Okay?
And you can use brightness adjust and all this blur increase. So all these things you can use to little bit give a polish to your final photo. Because cover, photo and picture are most important when it comes to designer LinkedIn profile. Okay the first thing, the second thing is you need to have a very clear headline. See Normally how the LinkedIn algorithm works is people search based on your keywords. Like let's say how specific you have mentioned your header. Like let's say if you're a product designer, if you are, if you're a person, if you wanted to showcase your mindset, if you want to showcase what is your skill set, if you want to showcase what are you really going to do for the people who are looking for people like you, okay, how you wanted to catch that person, you can mention that like let's say if you're a content marketer, let's say if you are a sales expert, let's say if you are a hardcore product designer or if you are a hardcore UX researcher, you need to mention that in your headline so that people can understand that as a big story.
Right?
Like let's say a short form of a story. See if you are able to get this clear, the searches will happen in a more way. Okay, the search engine Optimization searches in a way so that even a fresher, even an experienced guy, everybody comes in the search because people search you based on headlines, right? And there is something called third thing which is called about section. See here you can write a little elaborated story of it. So who you are, what are you going to do? Okay, what is your capabilities? How you can able to help people achieve their goals? See guys, this is most important. How you can help people achieve their goals through your skill set. How you can help companies or businesses or freelancers or kind of business owners to make use of your skills to help them achieve their goals. Like let's say if you are able to design landing pages which can convert up to 20 percentage more. Yes, you can use that as a line so that people will directly ping you, people will directly message you. So you need to hack that kind of a element. It should be like something like 300 characters. Should be a very good area, guys. Okay, and the fourth important section is which is keywords. This is most most important guys. See when it comes to keywords, when you're writing sentences about it, please make sure you do a little research, okay? So do not go blindly and just like that, fill anything. Okay, so copy some 10 or 20 different resumes and descriptions of the very good UI UX designer or a product designer or whatever profile what you're looking for. Copy paste that in Word Cloud, copy paste that in chat GPT and get some of the big results what the insight it is getting you. Okay, so Word Cloud is a very good tool. You guys can use that to generate and see, okay, out of this entire descriptions, people are only searching for this 10 to 15 keywords. Let me use that in my keywords to write down your project experience or your about your projects, about your whole brief about your summary. See guys, you need to be very smart, right? Then and only you will get a chance of more visibility. Because the search engine optimization of the LinkedIn works that way. You need to understand how a tool works then and only you can able to master it, right? So you need to use ChatGPT, you need to use Word Cloud so that you can find out the best 20 keywords, which is going to be very catchy. Okay, so the fifth element, what I'm going to be telling you is please sell your value and also make sure what is your return on investment. Okay, so sell your value, what skills you got, what value proposition you can bring and what are the kind of return on investment you can make. Like let's say if you are a teacher if you are a mentor or somebody, you can say, hey, by investing in my course, you can get 3x returns in two weeks. It's all yeah, if you are a designer, you can say if you are invest, if you are giving a project to me, I will be able to make sure your business grows 15 percentage every single month. See, so the fraction of money what you're going to invest is going to come 10 times written for you. So you can mention that if you're that specific, then people will be able to hook you very quickly. Guys. Okay, so the sixth important thing is add experience. See, when it comes to experience, at least add three to five.
Okay?
Don't be generic, be very specific. As I already told you, specific is terrific guys, generic is nothing. See why Chat GPT is so famous is because specific the results, the kind of inputs, the kind of information, what they gave is very specific so that you can take an action out of it. Google is dying. Google searches are. People are not using that much, right? Only people use generative search because it's more specific. You need to understand this guy already. I told you in chatgpt you can research this keyword. See, that's why I referred you that, because I did that. And the way in which the insights what ChatGPT gives is tremendous. If you are, if you're really investing in your education, you can upgrade to chat GPT4 also which is more advanced search engine and can search some websites and give you some most prominent keywords which is there in that website of a company. With that itself you can apply, guys, let's say if you're applying for Google, you can make a very specific search about Google or an Amazon or any big companies to make sure how they are able to hire you. Let me tell you guys, lot of companies have a generative software which can screen 1500 to 2000 resumes at a stretch to screen out only 50 resumes. They also have generative AI machines so you need to be smarter than them in order to beat that. Okay, so the seventh important thing is you need to add education section. No problem guys. If you have degree, if you don't have degree, if you have only certificate program, if you even don't have non certificate program, you can go to a section called courses and you can add your experience. Experience. That is a big advantage in LinkedIn. Okay, so not necessarily always you need to have a formal degree this, that and all you can add a section of non courses and you can mention like if you learn somewhere, like if you learn self Learning. So you can mention that. And the best way to do the next thing what you can do in LinkedIn is you can add something called skills. Okay, There is something called skill quiz, guys. You can search about it and then you can add at least five to seven different type of skills. I would say minimum. Okay, so don't go beyond that or don't go less than that. So 5 to 7 is the ideal one. Okay, even 5 is very catchy. So you can add and you can search like it's a user experience design, a product design, something like that. You can able to mention it more clearly so that you will get that skill set and you can add that. It's called a school quiz. Okay, so the ninth important thing is you need to get recommended guys. You need to have a social proof and testimony. I always tell my students, get a good testimony from your professors, from your faculties, from your mentors, from your seniors, from your best person who are whom you are connecting with in LinkedIn. Okay, so the thing is that builds a trust for the other people whom you're seeing you. Okay, that is the ninth important thing. The tenth important thing is your projects. So now comes very interesting thing, guys. See, if you don't have a real experience, if you are a fresher, you can create a very good dummy project which is done in a very short span of time and you can add it in a more detailed way. I would say if you are able to fill your website profile or maybe your Behance or LinkedIn dribble profile, that would be more specific guys. Because if you add a specific URL then your search engine optimization searches in a more way. People see your search very high so there are more chances that people will get attracted to you. Okay, and the 11th important thing is please post lot of content guys in LinkedIn. See, there are two type of content which you can post. You can feel like teaching some information to others. Like let's say if you're sharing a knowledge so you're not a teacher or something, but you're sharing the knowledge. The more you share, the more people get attracted. You know, I've seen a lot of people getting 100k followers, 200k followers, that much followers just by using these techniques. I've understood that. So they teach a lot of things because that is going to be useful for somebody else. So you can also take on small problem how in a designer community people are able to manage plugins. In Figma you can tell three plugins in a very short video of 20 seconds and record and post it. Or you can create one small poster and post it. That is more than sufficient. Guys, have at least 10 or 15 posts or maybe two or three good videos so that people will get more attraction to your page. See, the more people come and visit you, the more connections you have, the more better job opportunities you will be have. And more designers and HR recruiters, you will be able to connect.
Okay?
And the second type of content, what you can post is aspiring. See, you can able to aspire people, you can able to create more refreshing content and you can able to tell your real emotional stories or your friends or your some of your peers stories to attract more people. So these are all the things which you can make sure that you're very active on LinkedIn. See, we are in the world of social media, right? We need to know how to choose the right tool, how to play the right things, how to use the right keywords, how to get the right search and how to get the right job and get promoted move faster. So you need to play this guys, you need to post a content or a video and it needs to be in a teaching way or it needs to be in a aspiring way which is making sure it aspires other people.
Okay?
Then your profile will be something like very cute, superb guys, you can add a post and you can click that plus button in that LinkedIn. If you can see that, then you will be able to create more. Okay, so if you are in a creator mode, you can use a lot of hashtag and you can able to do it. Okay, and other important benefit, what you can do is you can able to convert this entire profile of of you. After you fill all these details into a PDF. That is most amazing, guys. This is a beautiful thing which you can do it and you can also preview that PDF and you can change the information again. You can create another PDF also. Okay, See guys, when you have a resume very much uploaded in LinkedIn, there are 70 percentage chances that you will get notified. It is a statistic. So you need to understand this more clearly when you are uploading your profile in LinkedIn. Okay, so to close this podcast, let me tell you a golden tip, guys. So before that I'll recap whatever I said. The first is you need to be very clear why you are in the LinkedIn and you need to have a very good profile picture. And you need to have a very good cover page. Using the software scan1BG remover, you can able to create a very good profile picture. Okay, so the second is you can have a very good headline which is will come in the SEO search option.
Okay.
And also you can add about section of who you are, what you're doing, how you can able to help people solve their problems using your skill. And it needs to be more specific with 300 characters. Third is keywords. We talked about ChatGPT and word cloud how you can extract keywords from other designers and recruiters and other design organizations. Job description so that to find which keywords are most flashing and then you can build your profile around it. You can build your own keywords and section and about section around it and you have to show how much value proposition you can bring. That's the fifth point. Sixth thing you have to show your experience minimum three you need. Seventh thing is you need to show your education, show your diploma, your certificate, your degree, even if you're not certified in a course. So make sure you add a section called courses. And then you can mention that the eighth thing is adding a lot of skills. Five to seven skills is good. Ninth thing is recommendation testimonials and proof. Tenth is having good project whether it's a dummy project or real project. And make sure you upload your profile or your behance profile or dribble or anything. And make sure you post a content in LinkedIn which is a post or a teaching or a video which is to inspire people.
Okay?
And let me tell you guys, the final golden tip is if you are able to add something like a word in the key search.
Okay?
So listen very carefully. If you are writing out, let's say if I wanted a product designer and add a word. Hiring product designer, hiring product designer and hiring. If you're able to tell if you are able to put that, you will have lot of post coming in. LinkedIn guys go to a section called filter post and then directly you will find hundreds of industries who are looking for product designers, freshers who is hiring currently now. So you need to add a section in your profile photo also saying open to work so that it attracts to a lot of people. So when you have that open to work label, what happens is people will directly able to connect with you because you're dming, you're directly messaging them, right? Because you have found out they are hiring now. Because hiring is a present tense word, right? That means like people are hiring right now, not in the past, not in the. What you call the recruitment start later, it's now. So if you're able to use that word ad hiring, definitely you will find the profiles and the companies who are looking for freshers or the designers like you or if you're a product manager, whatever is your role, anything this strategies are applicable guys, even if you're a designer, non designer, that doesn't matter. Okay, so then what happens is when you're able to filter that post to whichever companies you want, then you can directly message them. See, it's as simple as that, right? And what happens is you can remove all the filters and you can also target certain companies like let's say if you're looking for Apple, let's say if you're looking for any kind of a specific company, Microsoft, you can able to directly search that and target those companies and directly DM them. See guys, how beautiful it is. There is no problem if you want to get a very good clarity in using LinkedIn to get a job. If you are able to follow this 11 steps what I told you along with the golden tip right now, in next two, three hours you can able to attract at least 10 job applications. Maybe one or two you will get a call for interview or maybe a chance of doing a design task, right? That is very much possible. Guys, imagine if you are consistently doing this activity for three hours every single day for next 20 days, definitely you will land up in a job which is minimum 50,000 to 60,000, which is very, very. Because that much of leverage and the system what we have built into this. Okay, if you're able to even have more investment for your education, you can Even upgrade for LinkedIn Premium, which I'll record a separate podcast. But for now using free LinkedIn account is more than enough benefits out of. Okay, thank you guys. I hope this podcast is useful for you. Take action, take action because if you're listening just and leaving, nothing is going to happen. So create a good profile in LinkedIn and share with me in this podcast. Also let me give you a review and if I found it very interesting and if I feel that you needed some support also you can drop an email to me. I'll be happy to take up for my mentorship class.
