Foreign project and make sure the person is really logged into my project for a very longer time. Lot of people have this problem and they don't even know how to tell this, right? Some of the students are asking this, okay, how to really pitch my project, how to make a hook point for my project so that you can hook the person. What is hooking up? It's like catching a fish, right? You have a hook in a form of a question mark so that you hook the fish by putting some kind of a food or by by showcasing some what you call very interesting element so that the fish gets attracted. Or even when you keep a rat trap, you create that hook, right? So you keep an interesting food or something when the rat gets attracted and it comes and then it traps. So similarly like that, how do you really hook the persons in your projects, in your portfolio, in your resume or in any anything what you communicate? This podcast is going to give you clarity, guys. Take a lot of notes. Now let's dive deep into this topic. Welcome guys, welcome, welcome. So this is one of the major important pain point which students have asked me. Okay, so how to really pitch or how you even create a hook point in their project. So I'm going to be giving you 11 different strategies how you can exactly do it. I strongly recommend if you're having one good project in front of you, okay, you can pass this podcast also because if you're able to do it, live with me and if you're able to ensure that through the action points what I'm telling you, then it will make a lot of sense for you guys.
Okay?
If you're not doing it, then hear this podcast in some other time where you have your laptop or your projects in front of you. Because hearing to it and not taking action will not change anything for you.
Okay?
So I assume like if you are into that, you have taken your project and then you're ready to shoot out that thing.
Okay?
So yes guys, the first point is understand and write about who's your audience. Is it a recruiter, is it a designer, is it a project manager, Is it a client? Or is it a any kind of a freelancing project what you're working for. So make sure you write that down.
Okay?
I hope you would have passed the podcast and you would have written it down. And make sure you write attention grabbing statement. What is attention grabbing statement? You can show the impact of your project. Every hour, 17 people die in road accident by not wearing helmets. My project is going to exactly help people wear their helmet, right See how the attention is grabbed. You don't have to always use death as a strategy. You can use emotions as a strategy. You can use vitality as a strategy. You, you can use some of the health as a strategy. So try to find attention grabbing statement for your project. Okay, first write it down. Pass the podcast and write it down. The second is find an anecdote. What is anecdote? Forming a story which is very impactful for the listener. Okay, so try to think about that. If you're not having that, please go and research about your project and do it right. You can pass this and you can do it. Okay, the other time is other thing in attention grabbing is make sure it should be thought provoking. See guys, when you are able to create that attention grabbing statement, it should make the person think about it for a while. It's not like they're just reading your project some brief, some case study, some problem statement, then moving. No, it should be like a question. Have you ever encountered a suicide life? If you put a question like this, what happens? People really stop there, right? They don't really give a second thought. That's how you hook a person for your project. See, it need not have to be always something like this. Very strong. Maybe your project is very subtle. Maybe if you are taking a pet care application. Okay, so you can write about. Have you ever heard a dog talk to you? Right? You can put a question mark. Oh, how dog will talk, how somebody can listen. This particular project is going to make sure you can listen the communication of your heart to heart with your pet by using our musical play app for our pet. Right? This could be your solution also. This could be a product also. See how it's interesting when people really see guys, when you ask a question, people use their mind. 75 percentage. People use their brain. 75 percentage. If you're talking something, people use only 25% of their brain to listen to you. Right? So which is bigger, 75 or 25? Of course, 75. Right? So if you wanted the person to think about your project for 75% of the time, then ask a question. Ask a question. Ask a question. So write down 50 different questions what you can have in your project. Maybe at least five you can write it down, if not 50. Right? So pass this podcast and write five interesting questions. What you can make your audience to do it. See guys, if you're able to take the action, whatever I'm saying right now, step by step, at the end of this podcast, you will have an excellent project which can hook to any recruiter, any designer, anybody whom you wanted to apply for. Okay, so the second important thing is attention grabbing statement. So through statistics, through anecdotes, through thought provoking things, you can do it.
Okay.
The third important strategy to pitch and hook is show the benefits of your product or your service or your solution, what you're designing rather than the feature. Don't show, more animation will come when you click this payment page. Don't show like a lot of micro interactions will come. People will feel very butter when they interact with this. The graphics are cool, smooth. Don't talk about the features, talk about the benefits. Benefits is when you're able to make a transaction through our application, you get 5 percentage cash back. When you're able to transact with our payment application, you get transaction done in five seconds. When you are able to transact with our payment app, you will be double checking with our account so that right person is transferring the amount through the right otp, right mobile, right id so that your payments are secure through our application. When you transact, if any error happens, you will get the immediate refund within 24 hours. If you're able to tell the benefits of your project, people will be more hooked to it because recruiters and designers sometimes will be looking for the exact benefit what you're trying to solve through your skill set, right? It's not always visuals, guys. You should be able to tell the benefits clearly. And the fourth important point is tell a story. I've recorded a separate podcast for how you can tell a story, guys. Okay, so imagine to cut short, have a hero for your story, have a villain, have a final goal and make sure how you're able to create that different, different element in order to cross that pain point. And finally hero wins the villain. Okay, so listen to that podcast and come back. Definitely you will be getting a clarity on how you can structure your story for your project.
Okay?
The fifth important element is have a visual storytelling method. See, when you're able to clearly understand your audience, when you're able to clearly make the attention grabbing statement questions, form a story telling the benefits. Now form use very simple tools, guys, initially like Canva or Adobe. Stop. So these are all some of the tools which is very, very helpful. Now. Okay, Even non designers, anybody can start using this Interface from the 1 min, from the minute 1, from the hour 1. You can able to use these tools effectively to create stories through your visuals, use some images, use some gifs, use some videos. So everything can be done in Canva and Adobe stock.
Okay?
Adobe is a paid one, but Canva is a free one. You can use it out. See, it's not always necessary to do that. You can use PPTS also. That's totally fine. You can drag and drop some images from Google images and give a credit for that. And then you can tell stories. See. If you're able to tell more pictures of your story, people will be able to interested to see rather than putting heavy loaded text. This is one important strategies to make the people hooked to your project. Okay, the sixth important thing is show the before and after. What exactly I mean by this is you should show the impact what you've created. See, by designing the solution, 50% of the users have successfully made the transaction. Before that they were not able to do it because of the poor user interface. So I designed something very interesting, a gamified version for the payment transaction which motivated 50% of the users to do more transactions. See, people will be interested to see what gamification you did. What is your solution? This is how you hook the people. You can able to show this in the header. Also guys, right before and after, right now the click through rates have increased 400 percentage because of the small micro interaction I design which is this entire project. Yes, people will be interested to see through that project. Right? So if you're able to create some kind of a small story or a video or a method, how you did it in just 10 seconds or 20 seconds or even 30 seconds, you're through. Guys, nobody has so much of time to read your 50 page case study, right? If they. If you're able to grab that attention in 30 seconds, definitely that will motivate them to go through your 50 page case study. Because they wanted to know how exactly you did it, what exact skills you applied. Because that's what they're looking for to recruit you, right? Yes. So this is the sixth one. The seventh one is you need to have passion, guys. Nothing works if you don't have energy and authenticity and a passion being a designer. See guys, your energy transfers and gets the people hired you, right? So always if you are recruited, always if you're going for a recruitment, it's all about selling guys, right? You're selling your concepts, you're selling your skills, you're selling yourself so that people can buy you and they'll pay you end of the day selling things. A lot of people when they hear the word selling, whack. No, I don't like selling. No, I don't have selling skills. I don't want to talk to people I don't want to get rejected. That's the, that's the common way in which we are conditioned, right? Let me tell you guys everything. Every single day, every moment, whatever you're doing, you're selling, right? Understand this importance. When your mother is saying, go and do this, there is a huge benefit for it. She's selling the benefits of that thing right? Then and only you will go and do it. If you're asking your dad to get something, if you're asking your brother to get something, they're saying, no, I can't get it. Then you need to convince them by showing the benefits of getting that right, Then only they'll be motivated to do it. So every time, every other thing, what you're doing is selling. So imagine if you're able to sell yourself properly, with your fullest energy, authenticity, honestly, people will be able to buy you guys. Whether if you're pitching for an investor, whether you're pitching for a recruiter, whether you're talking to your freelance clients, it doesn't matter. If you show a lot of energy and enthusiasm, you will be sold. You can sell anything, guys. The biggest entrepreneurs in this world, the biggest billionaires in this world are best salesperson. The one skill, what a salesperson have is showcasing their enthusiasm and transferring their enthusiasm to a honest, genuine, authentic passion. This is a very important point, guys. If you're able to showcase that, people will be hooked onto your projects like anything, okay? And the eighth important element is keep it short, guys. Don't have a very long statements. And all your project should be short, crisp and clear to the point, okay? No beating around the bush. The ninth important point is practice it consistently. See, take one or maybe three best projects of you.
Okay?
You can pass this podcast and do it and make sure you are able to exactly practice this for all your projects. All these 11 steps. What I'm telling. Practice again, practice again, practice again one more time. Maybe think about if you are able to make a 50 page case study, can you able to do it in 10 pages? Can you able to communicate that message in three minutes? Next time practice it for communicating in two minutes. Next time practice it for 45 seconds. Next time practice this in 30 seconds. See guys, if you are able to tell your project in 30 seconds to a child of 6 years old, and if that child is able to tell another child to understand this problem, what you're trying to solve, then you are very good in pitching and hooking the stories, guys. Pitching and hooking your projects, right? Because if that level of Simplicity. If you bring in people will be automatically hooked. If a child of six years is able to understand and communicate to another child of what problem that you are exactly solving. Like let's say, we'll take an example, okay? Like let's say if you're designing a puzzle for a students or a child with brain, what you call like let's say autism kids. Okay, let's say if you're doing that, so you're saying, hey kid, come here, I'm designing a very good game for you. You know what, you're able to play with your friend for half an hour, right? And then you get really bored or you really go, you feel tired. If you play this game, you will play for two hours, guys. Okay, this is the solution, what you have. So are you ready to test this game and are you ready to play this kid? The kid will be like, yeah, excited. Show me that. Can you call your friend also? Definitely. That kid will go and call his friend and. And that kid will take care of that pitching and hook point. Because you made it very simple. See, less than 45 second I communicated to you. So this is how you need to practice it, guys. See this will come after your practice only. This will not come by doing a 50 page case study. You need to go through it. How you can make it 10 page, how we can make 5 page, how we can make it 1 minute, how we can make it 10 seconds in 10 seconds. Also you can communicate a project. So lot of times if you practice for your top three projects, you will be able to communicate with people in a different way, guys. Okay, so the 11th important point is. Sorry, the 10th important point is you need to give a call to action. See whatever we did so far, let me recollect you, okay? Then you will understand call to action. How it is important. The first important element to pitch and hook your project is understanding your audience. Second is attention grabbing statement. Third is showing the benefits rather than the feature. Fourth is telling a story. Fifth is having a visual elements and having the people like using Canva Adobe stock to create more visuals to hook them. And sixth is showing the before and after an impact. Seventh is showing your passionate and authenticity. Eight is keeping it short. Ninth is practicing it continuously. Tenth is whatever you did so far, make sure you give an action point for that or else what happens is people will just like that, see your portfolio, see your work and then they leave it. Make sure you give a call to action. Hey, if you find this interesting, call me. If you find this really surprising, please give me a call. If you wanted to exactly know how, you have to message me. So give a call to action button or give your phone number or your email ID or anything. Or maybe if you're talking to a person about your project for 10 seconds or 15 seconds, please make sure to ask that person, can I have a call with you for one minute to to explain you how to do it? Can I have a video call with you for five minutes of how I exactly did this project in five days? Can I explain you see, if you're not able to give action guys, nobody's going to give a heck back. What is it in? What it is in there for them? Nothing is there for them, right? Unless until you keep a call to action or an interesting element for them, nobody's going to look back at your project or come back to you. So whatever you did so far will go in vain. If you're not able to know how you can able to create a call to action. See, call to action can be buttons. When you're designing a website for your portfolio or your project or behance profile, Call to action could be putting your phone number email, make sure if you're designing a webpage which is dynamic or something, you make sure your phone number or your email ID is popping up in the top so that any point of time people wants to connect with you, they can able to go and click there. If you keep it in the home page, it's something in the top which is not even coming. It will be much difficult for them to go and find out that, right? So how will they connect it? By the time they lose the attention after searching for one or two minutes, people go into another candidate. So you need to know how to create that call to action. When you're talking in LinkedIn, when you're talking in chat, when you're talking to a stranger whom you wanted to network with, make sure you ask them, hey, can I have a word with you for a minute? Can I have a call with you for a minute? Or if you're busy, can we have it in the weekend, Saturday 5pm specifically? Ask them so that you have an accountability to ask them, right? So the 11th important strategy is adaptation. See guys, so far, whatever you learned, make sure you practice it for recruiter. You can pass this podcast and do it. Make sure you practice it for a designer. If you're communicating the same project with a designer, how will you hook it? Make sure how you are talking to a stranger like a hr. HR doesn't know about many Design things, right? They know recruitment, all these things. So how you talk to a hr, how you talk to a recruiter, how you talk to a design guy, how you talk to an investor, how you talk to your freelance client, prepare a different, different script guys, because nothing works same for everything. It's very important if you're having a project for a like let's say if you're designing something for a blind people, if you wanted to go and talk to your investor, so know how to talk to your investor. Hey, more than 70% of the blind people doesn't use this feature in the mobile. By using this accessibility technique, what I'm designing now, this can reach 70% of the blind users. So that our target will increase. Even the blind person will be able to become audience and customer for us so that we can increase our revenues by 30 percentage, right? See, if you're talking to an investor like this, he will be hooked. So you need to know how to talk to an investor. If you're talking to a designer, you should show a lot of creativity, interesting elements. If you're talking to an investor, you should show a lot of statistics, lot of revenues, profits, so that they'll be more interested. If you're talking to a hr, you should talk about. I'll stick to this organization by doing this project, I'll make sure I'll stick for this organization one year, two year, and I'll show my interest and enthusiasm. And you should show that interest and enthusiasm to the recruiter because they expect that they wanted a high energetic employee to come and work for them for a longer time. Right? Because they can't recruit people every three months. So their expectation is different. A designer expectation is different. An investor expectation is different. A client expectation is different for a freelance project. So you should be able to structure your 11 points, what I told you based on the audience and then you will be able to effectively pitch and hook guys.
Okay?
I hope you like this podcast. Definitely this is going to really add a lot of value if you would have taken action step by step when you paused this podcast. Okay? Nothing will change when you just listen to this podcast, guys. Taking action will change. My mentor always says take action, take action. Okay?
Or maybe you can create an action plan because you can do it in the weekend. Maybe you can create an action point that you can do it in the free time whenever you are getting or make sure you you make a time plan. Okay? Tomorrow morning I'll practice this hook points to make sure how I can pitch to the project then and only you will be able to do it. Guys, listening to this podcast will not change you anything.
