It's very crucial for every students to really understand that tackling multiple questions in interview. What we will be doing in this particular thing is exploring strategies of how different questions could be handled and how to even find a balance between confidence and humility and overcoming hesitation. Right? When it comes to lot of questions, big hesitation really comes in. So how even experienced and freshers can handle this. The very first thing is the importance of handling these different questions, right? See, let's understand why handling diverse question interview is so crucial. According to a recent survey conducted by a reputable survey which is like 70 percentage of the employees believe that ability to tackle a wide range of questions is a key indicator of a candidate's problem solving skills, irrespective of their technical background, irrespective of whatever what you call experiences that is. Okay, so the adaptability towards answering that different type of questions is a key indicator to measure your performance. See, 70% of the employers believe it's not. It's not a small number, it's 70 percentage. Okay, so it is very interesting that in a study by industry research group found that 80% of the successful designers attribute their success to their ability to handle unexpected questions during interview. See, this is very interesting thing. So 80% of the successful designers also tell that because of this one single ability, I am able to crack the interview. So what is this really? What is the strategy to improve and handle this situation? Now comes the second part of this podcast which is how do you do it? Right? First we understood the importance, now let's understand the practical strategy. The one approach what you can use is star approach. Okay, which is like situation, yes for situation, T for task, A for action, and R for result. According to a job search platform, candidates who use this Star method are 30% more likely to leave a positive impression. Okay, I'm not saying 30% will get selected. I'm saying positive impression can be left based on the situation, based on the task, what are the action you take and what is the result you found, right? This is the one thing which you can remember in your mind whenever you're able to tackle some questions and give some answers, right? So additionally, research from Career Development Institute suggests that integrating the design portfolio what you have in your responses like let's say if a project or a case study or a situation which you handled and how you can able to code that during your response can make you get even 50 percentage more memorable to the interviewers, to the recruiters, right? That is why you have to show some live problem solving ability. How you solved a problem, how you tackled a real time situation. Lot of people miss out this. They try to tell a lot of things about their project, but they don't really tell about how they handled that project and came how did they handle the multiple problems which was there in the project. Like let's say low resources, low financial constraints, very less timeline and not understandable understandability between the client and the customer. So lot of miscommunication problems. Everything happened. But in spite of that we were able to solve it. Then people will be interested to ask you how did you exactly solve? Then you can exactly tell your story, right? This is how you get the connect and you leave 50 percentage more memorable to the recruiters because of this. See, it's a statistics, right? So the other the third segment of this podcast is balancing this confidence. See moving on to this. Finding the right balance between confidence and humility is very crucial. What happens is when you are overly confident. A psychological research Journal found that 60% of the interviewers view excessive candidates as a red flag. See, a lot of people reject them while 75 percentage of people believe that too much humility may also lack self awareness. Right? So both are dangerous. You need to strike that balance. Then and only it is possible. It's essential to practice this assertiveness. What happens is candidates who effectively balance confidence and humility or 40 percentage more likely to perceive as a collaborative team players and those people will be 100% selected. Look. So the chances you need to showcase that how you're able to collaboratively solve the problem with the effective of team and yourself and the organization's goal should be matched with it. Right? So this is a very important thing. And let me tell you one more effective strategy to overcome this hesitation. It's a mindfulness practice. You can do lot of research institutes, even Mindfulness Research Institute indicates that incorporating These kind of practices like meditation or even focus can lead up to 25 percentage reduction in hesitation and improved concentration and focus during your interview. Why people aren't able to answer multiple questions. Very simple, straightforward answer guys, they are distracted, they are not able to get the exact answer or they are not able to think in that particular moment. What could be the answer? What could how I would really solve it, right? If you are in that presence of mind with the full consciousness, what happens is you tend to give your best intuitive answer from your mind. You don't have to do a lot of research and analysis. That is why people say it is good to have a mindfulness practice, concentration, focus, so that you know what 25% reduction in hesitation will happen. Okay, now let's understand what is the action points and resources. We have covered this essential aspect. Right, let's discuss about what is the action point. So first is you need to practice. There are a lot of AI tools, like let's say there are mock interview tools, there are good real time interview simulator tools and you can able to connect with your peers, you can connect with your mentor, you can connect with your faculties, or you can connect with any of your best persons. Or maybe if you network in LinkedIn, you can able to ask feedback and collaborate with them to understand where you're going wrong. Additionally, you can join in many design communities, platform and network with different designers. You can, you can understand what is happening in industry, what's really expected. This is how you gain confidence and strike that balance in a gentle way. Okay, not being so confident, not being so humiliate, so humility. So this is actually a way to balance it out. You can use a tool called yoodli Y O O D L I AI. It's a very good AI tool. It will exactly give you insights on how you can improve your communication. So it's a wonderful tool. Okay, so to wrap up this particular episode, let me tell you remember the Success in design interview is not just about showcasing your technical skills, ability to navigate to various questions and confidence immunity. Implementing this strategy, what we've discussed will actually get you to the next next levels of your interview. Because people are looking for something which is very intangible, not your tangible portfolio. A lot of people bang their heads making projects, making portfolio, trying to explain that what people really expect is how you can able to solve my problem of my industry using your skills. Particularly if it's a complex problem, particularly if it's a what you call a very crucial thinking ability problem. And not people, not any other people can solve it. Only a people who can really think through design, thinking, methodology or through their own creative ability to see and solve it in a different way. If you are able to showcase that even answering 100 questions in the interview will not be a problem for you, you will be more and more energetic when you answer questions like this. Right? It's not the other way around. You don't get drained or you don't get distracted. You feel more confident when you answer and keep on moving on from multiple interviews like this. Don't worry about the failures. Initially there will be a lot of interviews which you will be failing of, but what happens is the more you practice, you will be able to name the best answers for your portfolio, your project, your experience, and then your problem solving ability.
