Welcome guys. Welcome to this new episode with me for Design for change in Spotify. Thank you for subscribing my podcast channel. If you are a designer, you need to keep learning always, right? How do you have an accelerated approach to learn? So in this podcast I'm going to be giving you two different new ways that you can definitely accelerate your learning process. Okay, so it might be heard somewhere else also maybe like if you are, if you are already learning from somewhere else, but still there is going to be a very surprising element how you can make it implement an actionable and move forward with that. That is the big difference in this podcast, even if you have heard this information somewhere else. Okay, so stay tuned to this podcast. Now let's dive deep into the two different accelerated way of learning. Welcome guys, welcome. So we will discuss two different way of accelerated learning. Hey Jagdish, what are you saying? It's accelerated. See, when it comes to learning process, we need to definitely learn it effectively and also very much in an accelerated way. Let me give you one classical example, guys. If a book is published, by the time it reaches to the user, okay, let's say the book is being written by an author and by the time it reaches to the person who is reading that more than 50% of the content becomes obsolete. It's a stat, it's a statistics. So understand how much faster and dynamic the world is changing. If you are learning design skills, make sure in next one and half to two years you are updating that or else it becomes obsolete. Simple. Even people are predicting in one year syllabuses are getting updated. I'm not talking about college syllabus or school syllabus. I'm talking about the industry syllabus which so called designers are working in the industry. You cannot move away with the same skill. You need to learn different skills, right? So okay Jagdish, how do you really learn that accelerated with this particular podcast is going to give you that the very first skill, what you can very first way you can start learning is you need to take a lot of notes guys because I'm going to be giving you breaking down how we can really implement it. It's not a story or something. What I'm telling you, it's actionable and it's proven, tested and proven with thousands of people. And a lot of people have made world level success. I've read that stories, I've read that stats and I'm giving you that nutshell to you. Okay, so take a lot of notes. The very first you can start learning is reading books. Okay, let me tell you guys, Jews are some of the big people who have become most successful people in the world. It's because of their reading habits. I went to a museum called Warsaw in Poland for a Jewish museum. Okay? When you take a typical Jew's house, 60 to 70% of their space is filled with books. I've seen that. Even if the house is small, even if they don't have proper things to keep space or to keep cloth and other materials, they have lot of books and they imbibe that habit for their kids from the childhood. Remember how much deep they are going. So if you wanted to really understand the big successful people, go and look at the history and success. All the habits will be tracked back to reading good books on a consistent manner. Okay, so I'll tell you how you can implement this. That's most important right now. You know, books are damn good to read. Let me tell you guys. First of all, there are five ways you can implement this. See, the very first step, if you wanted to improve the reading habit and accelerated ways. Ask a question why you wanted to learn a subject. If you don't have a proper reason, please leave it. You can leave this podcast also. This is not going to add any value for you if you find a proper reason to learn. Yeah, definitely, you can pick a book. Yeah, you're qualified for the step one. Step two is choose the best materials in the world. Do not use substandard materials. See guys, don't use this free materials. You will get only substandard information. Pay for it, pay for a subscription, get a good audio copy, okay? And then you will get a quality material there if you choose. Let's say if you wanted to learn about gear, if you want to learn about lever, okay, choose the best material in the world where you can learn that. Let me tell you guys, if you start reading a book from the best material, you will not get bored, you will not get disappointed. That will motivate you to the next book to read. See how many people have chosen wrong books and after that they left that habit of reading itself. Maybe somebody would have motivated them, they would have started reading book. But after reading a wrong books, they lose that motivation. So choose the best material, okay? And make sure you take lot of notes, guys, when you're doing it. That's the third step. Fourth step is this is very important, guys. Have an accountability partner with you. See, even if you do everything, you will leave this habit of book reading unless you don't have accountability partner. See, we humans are not gods. We tend to make mistakes. We tend to miss our consistency. But if somebody is watching us, you know what? We will be really good. We will be really having that consistency. We will be able to do the patterns very, very neatly and consistently because somebody else is watching. Make sure you don't choose your friends as accountability partner. Make sure somebody who is 10 times bigger than you, or maybe they are lesser age than you, but in their field they are very, very, very good. Let's say if you wanted to build a habit of fitness, make sure you associate with the fitness master. Fitness masters and who are really big guys, try to network with them and tell, hey, I'll be accountable with you next 21 days. Every single day I'll wake up six o' clock and do fitness. I'll update you. Every single day, I'll message you. You know what? You will be definitely doing it. You will never leave that habit. Even if some days you're stuck in a birthday party, you're traveling here and there, you will be at least having the seriousness to tell, okay, today I missed it, tomorrow I'll do it together. Yes, and then only you will have it will change. Guys. See, book reading is a habit. It's not a one time activity that you're doing right. And the last is take action continuously for 21 days. See, I'll repeat it. You have to find a reason why you wanted to read a book. Second is you need to choose the best author and the best material to read it. Third is you need to take a lot of notes. Fourth is you need to have an accountability partner to check yourself. And there is a point to it. Guys, in the fourth, you should be accountable for them. Also you have to ask them what's your goal? Like let's say, hey, my goal is to keep posting some content in blog. Okay? Okay. Every single day I'll post a fitness blog. Let's say your fitness accountability partner is saying that you tell, okay, every 21 days. Every single day I'll read 10 pages. Yeah, both of you are accountable now. So have an accountability partner. This works magical. Guys, when you wanted to change something and install a new habit. And the fifth is take action. Everything listens, everything looks very simple, easy. Unless you take action, then only reality will come, right? So go through that pain and process to install a very good habit. See, you're not learning a bad habit, right? You're learning a good habit. See guys, which habits is going to give you long term efforts? Long term good benefits will be very Difficult to learn. But if you master it 21 days, it will give you long term greater benefits. Bad habits are easier to learn, okay? But it will not give you any kind of a long term efforts for you. It will in fact degrade you. So I'll repeat this. Good habits are difficult to form, but very, very happy to live with. Bad habits are easy to form, very difficult to live with. So you have to understand this. Okay? Adding to this, let me tell you real time case studies, guys. Warren Buffett reads five to six hours per day. Bill Gates reads almost 50 books a year. That is like one week per book. Elon Musk reads hours and hours, sometimes days staying in library and learning because he built SpaceX and Tesla and some of the times he needed a lot of technical knowledge. He's an engineer. Mark Zuckerberg lead lot of books. Even in spite of his busy schedule, his love for reading books has always influenced him to do a lot of philanthropy work. Oprah Winfrey is a great reader. Barack Obama, Melinda Gates, Richard Branson. See guys, if you're not reading and if you're not improving your knowledge, you will not be able to sustain. I've just given you real time case studies also how much people read. Then you have to understand if you want to really become that person, you need to also build that particular habit for you to improve that. Okay? This is the first segment of this podcast which is reading book. The second aspect of this reading, accelerated learning is audiobooks. This is a new and modern way, guys. Let me tell you why. University on the wheels. My mentor used to always say, when you're traveling. Yeah, right. We used to travel, we used to do some mundane activities, we used to do some repetitive tasks. Why don't you install a very good audio applications and start listening? I'll tell you the very good benefits of audio listening, okay? You know what will happen when you're doing audio listening lot? Many good things will happen. It's very, very convenient to take it out, okay? Books means you need to physically take it out, no problem. Audio is like you have it in your phone, you have it in your smart watches. You can put that super right? The second big advantage is you will have a lot of focus and commitment compared to reading a book, okay? Because something is into your ears, you are more focused, you are dominated by that particular voice, right? So you will not get distracted that much. And choose a very good quality headphones for hearing that, please. That's an important trait. Okay? And let me tell you guys, it's the most fastest Way to improve your efficiency of learning. See, eventually if you increase the speed of your audio learning from 1 to 1.25x speed, initially it will be difficult, but over the time you will feel normal. You can increase it to 1.5, you can increase it to 1.75. Right now I'm listening every audio in 1.5 and some of the Spotify audios, I'm doing it in 2x. See, if you're listening something in 40 minutes, I'm listening it in just 20 minutes. Simple same way, because I've retuned myself, my brain has wired to receive that faster audio capability in that particular thing. Initially it may seem like something like that, but if you increase it slowly, 1.1, 1.2, 1.5, eventually that new normal will happen for you. Your brain will rewire to receive that fastness in you. See, and when you go back, the funnier part is when you are in the speed of 1.5x or 2x and if you go back to one, then the audio will sound like, oh, you need to take action for this learning material. You will laugh yourself that much of faster your brain has become. See, that's called rewiring your brain. Another advantage of hearing audio material is it's cost effective. Guys. See, each and every book cost you 500, 600,000 rupees, right? Maybe very good books. Audible application is just 200 rupees per month or any other audiobook. If you subscribe, it will be like that. It won't be thousands of rupees. So you can read as much as book as you want, right? You can. You can read even two, three books in a month. That's good. Again guys, you need to follow the reason why you wanted to choose that book audiobook. You need to choose the best audio material to learn that best book. And then you have to take notes. You need to have accountability partner, take action. 21 days, everything is same, okay? But only the medium has changed because we used to tend to travel. See guys, if you're traveling for office for three years, you can do a PhD in just listening. My mentor used to always say he has a stat. He has a study done for that you can complete a PhD degree equivalent of three years if you're just traveling and you're just listening. See, that builds a greater focus. Let me tell you guys, even if you're doing it, there is another advantage in audio learning. Your communication skills will drastically improve. Let me tell you why. If you are bad in English, if you are not able to Improve your English language. I would highly suggest start with audiobooks. Because when you listen to audios, what will happen is you will start listening the words repeatedly, right? English will go into you lot more than you must have already heard about English. Because you are learning in this audio way, right? When you are talking to somebody, when somebody asks you that same words will repeat from your words subconsciously. It will come out consciously. You don't have to do anything if that same situation is coming. In reality world, you will tend to use the same words what you heard in your audiobook. How amazing it is. You are learning also. You are improving your knowledge also and you are improving your communication also. Wow, that's amazing, right? See guys, you have some greater advantage. It's convenient, it's faster, it's less distraction. It's having efficiency and speed to increase your learning. It's cost effective, it's improving your communication. What else you need? This is the second big way of accelerated learning, guys. See, when you're reading a book, your word per minute is almost 60 to 70. Okay? That's a stat, That's a study done. But if you're listening, you can go even 2x, you can go even 3x. You will listen 200 words per per minute. Understand? Guys, learning is very much important for you, right? In this world, if you're not learning, you will not grow. It's a law of nature. If you're not learning, you're dying. I'll tell you how it's a law of nature. Have you seen any plant not growing? Either the plant will grow or it will die. Similarly, if you're not growing in your knowledge, you're dying. I told you, right? One and half to two years, your field is already obsoleting. So learning is very, very, very, very important. Okay? So this is the two best way of learning, guys. And I'll give you golden tip. Now, even if you are reading books, even if you're listening to a lot of audios, but still, if you're not getting results, you are doing this. Big mistake, okay? That's why I'm giving you as a golden tip. Make sure you are focused towards doing that activity. First of all, choose a good environment to sit and learn. If you're reading books, okay? Audio is fine. If you travel also, you can do that. Even if a lot of distraction is there. You will not be disturbed because you are putting audio clearly. So if you're reading physical book, choose a good place to learn. Set a timer for 30 minutes without distraction and do it consistently. If some emergency somebody is calling, tell them, hey, I'll come after 30 minutes. Do two chunks guys, one hour book. If you're reading, make sure you split it into 30. 30 minutes, 30 minutes. Switch on your timer, put your phone in airplane mode and just read, read, read. Somebody else is calling, tell them I'll come after 30 minutes. Put back your attention and listen and read and read, read, read. After 30 minutes goes. Then go back and do that work. Let's say if your friend is calling you and telling you, tell your friend, hey friend, wait 30 minutes, I'll call back. I'm something in urgent. If it is really urgent friend, tell me. Yeah, if it is something really urgent, you can go for it. If something else is burning on back side of your house, please go and do it. Okay? Don't be waiting for the 30 minutes then. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. So learn to say no to the people. That's the very best way you can avoid some distractions and build your habit. See, if you're not focused for 30 minutes to learn something from a book, you're not going to implement half of the things what you learned if you're not implementing half of the things, only outcome will be quarter of the things. And out of this quarter of the thing, only quarter of the quarter will get real time implemented in your real time. And then you get that effects for it. See, even if you build a good habit of reading books and listening audiobooks, if you're not having focus and if you're distracted, you will end up leading nowhere. This is a golden tip, guys. Take it out. Okay, so thank you so much guys. Please implement your new regular habits. And if you feel like you need an accountability partner, if you need a coaching and mentoring, feel free to drop in an email to me. I'll be happy to help you. And if you feel this podcast has added value for you, make sure you subscribe and give me your best five star rating. Thank you so much guys. Take care. All the best. Bye bye.
Don't bring your hole that come back to the left. My God. Got 15 minutes clip. I can't wait. I feel like 15 rest. Don't touch. But you can still go to the back. I name a step.
