Foreign tells you we will get back to you. What does it really mean? It means you are not selected. Right. So this is a answer which I keep getting Jagdish from my interviewers, from my recruiters, from my. Even when I talk to designers, a lot of people say, okay, we'll, we'll catch later. We'll, we'll catch up later. So nobody's even having a networking with me. So how to tackle this? This is one of the major problems which students are facing. This podcast is going to address that. Let's jump in. Welcome, guys. Welcome. So when people say, like let's say first, let's talk about hr. When they talk about. Okay, we will get back to you, Jagdish. Okay, your portfolio seems good. Your resume seems good. We will get back to you. That means probably they are not interested. Definitely. Chances are they may have a different thing in mind or they are not attracted or engaged towards your work or something and they don't want to take a decision. Now they are politely rejecting you. 99.9%. This is a true. Maybe 0.1 percentage. There is a chance that they will definitely get back. Okay, so now you understood why people are telling that, right? I told you. What is the psychology behind it? Let me tell you how to overcome this. When somebody really asks you, we will get back to you. The very first thing to find out whether it's true or not is by asking a question. What do you exactly mean, hr? Like you're saying, getting back to me, right? What do you exactly mean? Chances are they will post you a right answer. Okay, let me see. Let me tell you. One case study. Like let's say if that person is telling you, okay, what I mean exactly, Jagdish, is right now we are filled with lot of application and we will take you in the next recruitment. Okay, that could be one case study. Second case study. Okay, What I mean exactly, Jagdish, is your profile is not up to the mark. So we have to reject you. Sorry. See, now the real answers will come rather than just getting back. Getting back to you. Getting back to you. As a standard reply, this is much better so that you can comprehend with your feedback what the person is saying. Right? So you can even ask another question. Okay. Hey, hr, thank you for telling me that. Very honest. Can you tell me exactly where I went wrong? So that becomes the input for me, right? And also you can ask one more question. Hey, if you're saying that your applications are filled, can I exactly know when I can get another chance? And Opportunity to attend the interview. Again, you need to ask a question. When somebody says we'll get back to you, do not leave them, just ask them. Hey. Okay. Thank you for your feedback. Can I just understand what do you mean exactly by get back to you? So I mean Jagdish, you needed some time to review your application. This could be a third case study. In that case, you should ask a question again. Okay sir. So should I expect the reply before evening, today, 5 o', clock, can we have a short call or shall I have a call back to you on morning 10 o'? Clock? Is it fine if you specify a time and a date and ask them a question? Definitely they'll tell you honestly what's in their mind. If they are in the mind of selecting you or maybe scrutinizing you or maybe screening you, they will definitely tell. Okay Jagdish, Tuesday sounds better. Tuesday before first off I will get back to you with a proper reply. Yeah, that sounds better. It's really good. 95 percentage. You will get the reply either yes or no. If they are not in the mind of even hiring you or selecting or screening you, definitely they'll say no. Jagdish, we cannot tell time. We'll get back to you. Will get back to you. That means you have to leave them. That's it. So asking a question will clarify whether you have really gone to that stage or not. See, so whenever you're applying for hundreds of industries and a lot of design studios and other industries, this is a very important thing which you will have to track back to your Excel sheet. Normally I used to work with an Excel sheet with my students to track all this information, feedback of the hr, feedback of the design recruiter industry so that they can able to work back and then they can able to comprehend and reply. So what happens is when you are able to track this and record this, it will be much easier for you to follow up and also even predict your insights. Okay, these much industries are rejecting me, so what else is wrong with me? So I have to improve this. Okay, let me try with this alternate approach. So can we go with this concept? Can we go with this idea? Can we change this in our resume and portfolio? So this helps you build a great insight for your future. Okay. And also let's now come to design people or maybe if you are networking with some people in LinkedIn, Facebook, anything like let's say if they say get back to you, you have to same ask them the question. Hey, are you interested to talk to me? You have to ask the question. Always remember you need to ask a question then and only the people's attention will come back. I already told you in my earlier podcast, people have an intention to answer you. When you always ask a question, that's a natural response and behavior what every human has and every human is being conditioned like that, including you, me, everybody, right? So when you ask a question that engages the person and when you listen carefully what they say, that really even gives appreciation for them, that you are hearing them properly and you're replying them. A lot of people don't ask questions. A lot of people even they ask questions, they don't listen properly. That's the big problem, right? So this is very important of communication because you're talking to a stranger, you're talking to a hr, you're talking to a recruiter, you're talking to a designer. This is a two important skill which inherently which you will have to develop by talking with lot of people. How I can improve this skill? Jagdish, there is no option. You have to talk to a lot of people. Do a lot of mistakes, get embraced with lot of people then and only you will get good at it. Maybe I can show you one or two answers. Like what I answered you. If you're talking to a fresher, if they say okay, Jagdish, will, will, I'll text back to you. Jagdish, right now I'm busy, you can ask. Oh, I understand that you're really busy. Can we have a call at 6 o' clock today evening? This is the Zoom link. Can we join? If that person is interested, he will tell less or else no, then that person is not relevant. Leave them go for the next person. If they say hey Jagdish, we'll get back to you here because I'm right now busy with other work. I understand you asked me a feedback for your portfolio, but right now I'm busy. I'll catch you later. If you get a reply like this, you have to ask, hey, I respect your time Mr. So and so. So which time is comfortable for you? Can you just give me exactly two to three minutes for a short review of my portfolio? That would be great valuable insight for me. In exchange, I give a gift for you because you are helping me, right? So you have to exchange something as a value. You can give some information, you can give some job referral from your own context. You can give some other help for them because you have studied their profile, right? Normally I used to tell before networking, you need to study about that person, that profile, that company and their particular interest and disinterest based on that. You need to hook them or talk to them or pitch them. If you have that followed properly, definitely you will not get an answer of we'll get back to you or we'll catch later on top of it. If you get it, you have to ask a question. When exactly you're getting back to me? Evening, tomorrow, day after. Okay, if that is the case, let me send you a zoom link or let me send you my WhatsApp text number. Let me put you my email ID. We can talk to them. Okay, I'll give you a reminder at that time. Is it fine? If that person is genuinely interested, he will say yes Japdish, Fine, you can call me at that time. Super. That sounds better. If he is not in that mood, then he's not the right person. You can leave him. This is a strategy which you can follow for strangers and designers whom you're networking with for a first time. Okay? So always remember guys, people, when they say we'll, we'll get back to you later, we'll catch later, I'll text you later. That means they are not interested for sure in both the categories. So you will have to sense that by asking a question and validating it again. And once you get that validation, then take action accordingly. If that person is little bit open to collaborate or talk to you, then tell them, okay, can we have a call at 5 o'? Clock? Can we have a call tomorrow? Can we have. So how do you go about it sir? Can you tell me? You have to ask a question and wait for their reply. They will say okay Jagdish, maybe we'll connect with our senior recruiter and then we can have a call. Yeah, that is better. Instead of just leaving them just like that, closing them with an action point and closing them with a clear, precise action will lead you to to next level of the processes. Probably you will get a chance of interview. Possibly you will get hired. Probably you will get a good interaction. Probably you will get a very good contact in your network. Probably you will get a feedback for your work whether you are selected or not, right? Either way you are win guys. Either way you get a feedback, either way you get a reply. Either way you get an answer so that you can move forward from here. A lot of people don't even know that. They just wait for their reply lifelong. Nobody replies you if somebody says we'll get back to you, right? So please be conscious and mindful about when you're receiving this answer. Do not leave. Just use this techniques what we have discussed in this podcast and let me know what you really came up after implementing this. Okay? I'd be very happy to listen to your feedback as well. There is a description in the podcast you can send to an email. Also you can reply with what do you think about this podcast? I would be happy to revert back to you and even if I find very interesting answers, I will itself give you a personalized one on one for 30 minutes to help you out. How we can exactly network I don't do for all the students, some of the people whom I really select because thousands of impressions are coming in the podcast day by day. I can only select one or two. I can help them specifically and if you are able to share your notes also what you learned, the chances of you getting what you call a call with me would be better because that helps you totally go into a different level guys. Okay, so thank you so much guys. Take care. All the best. Bye bye.
