In this coaching‑business monologue, the speaker reveals that the primary financial leak for many coaches is the failure to define a precise ideal client. He recounts his own early experience of creating broad, unfocused content on topics ranging from depression to the law of attraction, which led to inconsistent messaging, a stagnant income, and wasted time. He explains why vague targeting either attracts the wrong audience or no audience at all, resulting in unsteady revenue and an inability to invest in the business or personal development. To fix the leak, he proposes two practical methods for pinpointing the target client: (1) identify the person you once were, using your past struggles to empathize with similar prospects, and (2) leverage professional experience that validates your authority with a specific group (e.g., divorce coaches). He argues that narrowing focus is not “settling” but a form of serving, and that trying to help everyone dilutes energy and value. He provides a set of reflective questions to help coaches crystallize who they can move from “devastating hell to majestic heaven,” emphasizing that clarity will enable direct messaging, better offers, and a ten‑fold increase in value. The video concludes with a call‑to‑action directing viewers to two follow‑up videos on confidence and life control.

There's a financial leak in your coaching business, and it's not the website that you settled on, your work ethic, or even your level of experience. It's, it's something that you should have solved at the beginning of when you started this coaching business. So I'm going to share with you what that is and how to patch that financial leak, because, oh, once you solve this, it's the key to attracting the right people earning more and having a greater impact on them. Now, when I first started my coaching business, I didn't know exactly who I wanted to help. And I'm not ashamed to say this. You can see it in the content that I've been creating or the content that I created in the past on my previous channel. I was covering a range of topics a range of broad topics from depression, the law of attraction, why happiness is a terrible objective to chase, even fear. I was just talking about any and everything that I felt convicted to share and that I felt motivated to share. And I was doing this because I didn't have a specific person in mind and I didn't know what they would want to see. I was just making intelligent inference whatever I thought would be some of the problems that they had. That was some of the videos that I would cover. And not only did this lead to a lack of consistency because I ran out of ideas or didn't know them well enough to know more ideas of what to create, but it also meant that I had a stagnant coaching business because I didn't know them well enough to speak to them directly. For a while, this was the financial leak in my own coaching business. And when you don't know exactly who you help, that means you're either A, attracting the wrong audience and figuring out later on they're not a great fit, or B, you're not attracting any audience, which means that you don't have any leads that you can convert to clients. And with no clients, what does that mean? A stagnant coaching business. Right? Unsteady income or no income, which means not being able to take care of those who you could help— your family members, your loved ones, your friends. It also means you can't invest back into your business, invest into your own self and your own coaching so that you can be a better coach for those of who you are leading. Not solving this problem is extremely expensive. From a financial standpoint, but it's also expensive from a time standpoint. Because if you didn't know that this was a financial leak in your coaching business and you've been utilizing your time to solve problems that you didn't know weren't real problems, that's a waste of your time that you can't get back. You see, I used to utilize my time of trying to settle on a website, of finicking with a funnel, and thinking those were the reasons why my coaching business was stagnant. But those weren't the real problems, right? I used to waste time believing that I needed more information, and technically I did, but not the information that I was actually seeking. And the information that I was seeking, it was nothing more than time being wasted. I was wasting my time creating the wrong content, articulating the wrong messaging. And when I'm— what I'm referring to when I say wrong messaging, I'm speaking on broad messaging, messaging that tries to attract everyone but doesn't help a specific someone. So that makes it imperative for us to know exactly who we help. Now, how do we figure out exactly who we help so that we can signal to them that we're actually helping them and they can see themselves in our messaging? Well, I often say that the person who you are in best position to help is someone who you used to be. And I usually say that because who you used to be gives you an idea of what that person needs help with. It gives you an idea of what that person is going through and it gives you an idea of what that specific person would like to experience, which means that you can cater your content for them. And it means that when you're creating your copy on your funnel and your website and your, your email, if you have their— if you got their emails, you can cater your messaging for them. It also means that you can cater your coaching specifically for them. So that's one way of knowing exactly who you can help. But let's say who you used to be isn't the type of person who you're looking to help. What if your own experience could validate who you can help? And here's what I mean by that. Let's say that you were a divorce coach. You help high-level individuals prevent problems that could lead to divorce. Maybe you've never experienced divorce or you've never been on the verge of divorce, but you've worked with couples for a certain amount of years whose reality was that your own experience allows you to know them well enough to know how to speak to them directly in your content and in your copy and everywhere else, and how to target them and how to develop an offer that will tremendously help them. Because if you're dealing with the same type of individuals, You know exactly the problems that they're having and even the overall problem that they're having that's leading to these individual problems that's making everything blown out of proportion. You're knowing the pain that they're experiencing and you know the pleasure that they would like to experience. And having all this important information allows you to create better content for them, but it also allows you to speak to them directly. When you're creating this content. It allows them to see themselves in your messaging. And here's what I mean by that. They watch a video of yours for the first time, or if they're introduced to you for the first time, you're going to be a radio station for them, one that, that will be hard for them to tune out because you're playing the right songs that they want to listen to and that they need to listen to. Now, these are the two ways of how you figure out exactly who you want to help. But one of the problems that you probably have right now is debating on exactly who you help, right? Let's say that helps narrow down of who you can help, but you're having a problem of settling of who you can help because you have a lot of experience or knowledge or information, and you can see how all of that can help a multitude of people. Here's what I want you to realize. You're not settling by helping a specific person. Look at it this way. Let's say that you had a wisdom tooth that you needed to be removed because it was causing all type of pain and agony in your mouth. You wouldn't look at an oral surgeon and think that he's settling. No, you will be grateful that he went into a specific field to solve your specific problem. You'll, you'll be more grateful to go to him than a general dentist who's only known for doing, uh, plaque removals, uh, cleanings, or tell you how many cavities that you got in your mouth. So what you're doing is not settling. What you're doing is actually serving. You're serving a specific group. And here's another thing. It's actually more selfish to try to serve everybody, to try to help everyone. Why? Because that dilutes your energy. It dilutes the messaging that you're trying to create, and you're giving people a half product. It's selfish because you're trying to help everyone and you don't have the ability nor the capacity to do so. That's why it's actually serving when you're narrowing down on a specific person. But exactly how do you do that? You have to ask yourself the questions. Who is it that I can help specifically go from a devastating hell to a majestic heaven? Who is it that I can help have a 10x impact and transformation on their life? Who is it that I can help overcome their overall problem, their individual problems that influence their overall problem, and future problems? Right. Who is that person? Not only that, who is it that I really want to help? When there's someone specific who you really want to help, The energy that you have will sustain longer to help them than people who you feel like you can help broadly. When you get really engaged with those questions and you really answer them, knowing exactly who you help will feel like a mirror that was once foggy, but now you can see out of, and it's going to allow you to patch the financial leak in your business because having clarity of who you help and how to help them will let you speak to them directly in your content, attract them, and develop an offer that will give them 10 times the value that they want. If you're ready to take control of your life and develop that confidence that you've always been waiting for, then these two videos will help with that.
