You'll Never Feel Ready to Post. Here's What It's Costing You.

Jadarius Dean spent 827 days waiting to feel ready to post, then outlines three costs of that delay: confidence is built through doing, not preparation; invisibility means losing clients who never find you; and time is finite. Once he posted, his fears disappeared and he found purpose.

I wasted 827 days waiting to feel ready to post some content, and I had to learn the hard truth that most gurus would not tell you, which is this: that day of feel ready, oh, it ain't coming. So in this video, I'm going to share with you the 3 real costs of waiting to feel ready and the exact shift that you need to start finally posting content, because that 3rd cost, that's the one that's costing you a fortune. And in the words of Rick Ross, you ain't even know. The first cost is what I would call the confidence task. During those 827 days of me waiting to feel ready to post some content, I thought that I could just tweet my thumbnails for videos I hadn't even created yet. I thought I could go to Fiverr and hire somebody to work on a logo for me, or I could work on some intro videos. And all those activities would allow me to be confident to finally press record and post content. But what I didn't realize is that I was just using preparation as a way to avoid to finally show up for those who could benefit from what I had to say. What I didn't know at the time was that confidence doesn't come from preparation. You can't prepare your way to confidence. Confidence comes from execution. The only way you can become confident in whatever it is that you desire to do is by actually taking action and actually doing it. Think about it from a sports standpoint. LeBron is not the greatest of all time because he spent so much time preparing. He, he actually applied what he's been preparing to do in real scenarios to be great at what he does. Like, here's the thing what most people don't understand. Confidence is a muscle. In order to build that muscle, in order to have that muscle, you need to be in that gym putting in those reps. And at the beginning, it's going to be uncomfortable. It's going to feel awkward. It's going to feel unusual because your body isn't used to that type of movement. But the more reps you put in, that is when it starts to grow. That's when it becomes more comfortable. That's when it's not as unusual and awkward. The second cost Of waiting to feel ready to post content is what I would call the client tax. Every moment that you waste waiting to feel ready to post some content, the person who could be an ideal client of yours is not going to be yours. Why? Because they don't know that you exist. They don't know what problems that you solve. And because you're invisible to them, they won't have a reason to want to be helped by you. Every day that I kept waiting to feel ready to post some content, someone was missing out on the value and the transformation that I could deliver, which means that I was hoarding value and keeping them away from becoming the best version of themselves. And you want to know what that made me? That made me selfish. I was so selfish because I cared more about how I felt rather than the fact that I had something to offer, and I denied others from receiving it. Like, someone can't become a client of yours if they don't even know you exist. So every moment and day that you continue to hide, waiting to feel ready to post some content, they're going to find their person via someone else when it could have been you. And what sucks is that the person that they may go to for the answers that they're looking for, for the transformation that they desire, might not be as great as what you can offer them. You might be the only voice that they need to listen to, and they could listen to and actually become the best version of themselves. But that's going to be impossible if you don't show up for them. You see, look, I believe this: if you're in this space of coaching and you love helping others become a better version of themselves, helping them see what they couldn't already see, then that defines you. As a good person. But good people don't withhold the value that they know that can help others. Good people don't do that. Good people are willing to give what is necessary to others for them to get to where they want to be in life. That's what I believe defines someone who's a good person. So if you identify as a good person, it is your duty to show up for those who can benefit from what you have to offer. Rather than waiting to feel ready to post some content. Now, the most expensive cost that waiting to feel ready is costing you is what I would call the clock tax. Time. Time is the most valuable commodity that you have. And unfortunately, you don't know how much of you have left. It's funny to me that we think that Because we've lived for a certain period of time, we think we just got more of it. But the moment you was born was also the moment that you started dying. And every moment that you keep waiting to feel ready to show up for those who you can best help, you're, you're gambling with your life. You're gambling with your gift. You're gambling with your experiences, your experiences and your greatness that can be offered to others to help them get to where they are, to where they want to be. You know, I'm the oldest out of 5, and unfortunately my brother Kenan, who was the second oldest, he passed at the age of, um, 20. He was a few months shy of becoming 21 years old. And I used to imagine what life would be like as we got older. I wanted him to be the best man of my wedding. And that was a reality check for me that As much time as I've had in the past, I don't know how much I will have in the future. So I can't continue to waste it waiting to feel ready to post some content. Because you know what would be shameful? Dying, but still being consciously aware of your surroundings and knowing that you should have took action, but refusing to do so because you was waiting to feel ready. Oh, that's got to be a gut punch. If that was, you know, the case when we depart from this earth. 827 days, that ain't just some days and some weeks that I was wasting. That's some years and some change that I was wasting waiting to feel ready. And that was an unnecessary gamble that I was partaking in. But you want to know what's embarrassing? All those days that I wasted could have been used productively to help someone with the problem that they were having. They could have experienced the solution faster had I not waited. To feel ready to start posting content. So again, what I was doing was being selfish. I was protecting myself rather than serving others. You want to know what's scary? Tomorrow could be your last day. And I don't say this to try to shake you into taking action, but that's the unfortunate reality, that tomorrow is someone else's last day. What if that was you? And you waited all this time to feel ready and you still didn't post content, that person that only you could help in life is going to miss out on the transformation that only you can offer them. And the other options that they could go to won't be as great as you, because based on who you are, your experiences, your gifts, your, your, the way that you carry yourself, the way that you think. Is the only way that would speak to them in a certain way that would influence them to take the certain actions to have what they desire in life. But that ain't possible if you continue to wait until you feel ready to start showing up for them. So how do you actually stop paying these taxes? Because it's getting expensive out here. And finally break out of this trap? I had to go through a complete belief shift. For 827 days, I was focused entirely on how I felt, my insecurities, my fears, how I wanted to be seen, and whether or not if I was ready to show up. But I had to believe a new truth, which is what I had to share was far more important than how I felt. I had to realize that my voice was for a specific group of people, my flock. My voice was the only one that they can listen to and become who they desire to be if I just show up for them. And every day that I sat on my hands and I refused to share my message, I, I thought I was being cautious, but again, I was being selfish. I was robbing them of the value and transformation that they desired. And that started to make me feel guilty. How is it that I'm placed on this earth to serve a specific group of people, but I'm refusing to do so knowing that I'm doing more harm than help to them. I thought that I was helping them by preparing myself to be better on camera and to show up better for them on camera, but all I was doing was harming them. Because every day that I kept waiting to feel ready, preparing to get ready, I was unintentionally telling them that I don't care about them enough to show up as I am now, to give them what they desire, to help them become who they want to be. And that was, that was painful to realize because I've always thought I was a good person. But it wasn't good for me to withhold the value that could help transform their lives. And that guilt inside started to fluster within me. It felt more painful than the feelings of fear. that I was experiencing at that time. And I said to myself, you know what, I can't continue to waste time waiting to feel ready. I've been waiting for 827 days and it— that day still ain't came yet. So it just made sense for me to finally show up as I am. And man, when I finally showed up for the people who could benefit from the messages that I had to deliver, All that I was worried about, all that I feared, it didn't come true. In fact, I felt relief and I felt a load lifted off my shoulders when I finally showed up as I was for those who could benefit from what I had to say. In fact, I wasn't just energized to show up for that first video that I posted. At the 827 days, that energy was constant throughout all the videos that I had posted because I was doing what I was placed on this earth to do, which was be an asset to somebody rather than a liability to everybody. All those catastrophic nightmares, scenarios that I thought I was going to experience if I did show up, as far as that people wouldn't like me, people wouldn't agree with me, people would ridicule me and, and disrespect respect me, all of that. People would judge me, all of that. None of that happened. I was creating all these false scenarios within my head, allowing myself to continue to prepare myself, and all I was doing was just wasting 827 days. So you don't need to continue to wait until you're ready to start posting content. You need to start posting content now. Because someone out there needs your voice. Your voice is way more important than how you feel about yourself right now. And that person, they're not looking for someone who's the most prepared or who's the most perfect. They're looking for the person who is present. So be that person for them and finally show up and start creating content. If you're ready to take control of your life and develop that confidence that you've always been waiting for, then these 2 videos will help with that.
