Self discipline is long term self care disguised as short term pain and discomfort. Each day you find yourself at the crossroads. The hard way or the easy way? The hard way is where your goals lie. The easy way. Well more of this. The problem is in the moment you don't feel motivated, you don't want to do it and it's uncomfortable. So you follow this feeling and choose easy every time you've fallen into the trap. This feeling is trying to keep you away from your goals by convincing you it's going to be painful when we can shift this by learning to accept this feeling, realize it doesn't harm you and is necessary for your growth. By leaning into this feeling you can rewire your brain to associate discomfort with long term self care. Each day try and do at least one thing that is uncomfortable in the knowledge that you are training yourself to be stronger and looking after yourself in the long run.
