Sorting your life out can seem like a mammoth task. A task so big you just don't want to start, let alone know where to start. If you're feeling stuck about your ideas and struggle to know exactly what to do first, here's a little trick that will help get you moving out the gates fast. It wakes up your idea generating side of your brain. In this video, you'll learn how to quickly generate ideas that are buried inside your own head using mind maps. As with anything, it's hard to get things in motion. Going to the gym, buying the right food, life change is no different. You need an effective way to get you moving. And it's even harder if you've been inactive in terms of your mind for years. So this exercise simply gets you used to thinking for yourself and get your mind operating in a way that will be more productive for you. So, mind maps. You start with your main topic in the middle and then you branch out into your first few words that connect. So the first mind map you can start with is put engagement in the middle. Think about the first words that come to your mind when you think engagement. It could be a sport, it could be reading, it could be answering a query at work. Then think about what thoughts and feelings come from engagement. That the second mind map you can try is what gives you energy. Start with energy in the middle and think about all the things that really get you energized. The third mind map you can try is a value mind map. You start with your value in the middle so it could be stable income and then you can think of all of the aspects that come from this and build it from there. So the objective behind this is to fire your mind up. Don't try and find a solution. It's all about waking up the explorer side of your mind. So the first, and the first stage of this way of approach is not to try and solve the problem, it's just to generate lots of ideas. It's something that you need to get used to doing. And you can do these continuously. You can revisit them time and again over a week or two. So try the mind maps out. You can go and do it and it only takes you five minutes to do each mind map. They're a really, really effective way to pull ideas out of your own mind. They might feel quite, quite trivial and quite silly, but go and try it and you'll be surprised by how many thoughts can come out. So that's it for this video. Drop a comment below.
