Hello everyone and welcome to the very first masterclass for this amazing new Facebook group, and I am just so excited and grateful to have you here. And, uh, I just want to point out that if you actually look up here and click on the little link up there, it lets me know that you are here and you are watching. So let's just check that I am coming through loud and clear. Please let me know where you are, where you are based, where you are listening from. And for all of those people who are watching on recording, hello to you too. So let's just make sure that yes, we have everything going on and that it is all working good. Now, the theme of this masterclass is resilience. And I am going to first and foremost, let you meet some of the team. Now, a lot of you probably have been getting emails from, or messages from, Dayo or from Claire. Claire and Dayo are my community and communication managers, and they are helping me out. So I just wanted to make sure that you knew that you are welcome, that when you get a weird message from someone— and let's just show you what that looks like, because sometimes you don't even know that you're getting messages. So if you're in your message app over here and you see all these beautiful messages of people coming up and it's all wonderful. But if you actually go up to the top, you've got this thing called message requests. Now let me just show you some of the random message requests that I got. So, oh, if I ring this number, I'm gonna make a million dollars. I don't accept those. What about this one here who says, hey, I'm a VA and my person can teach you how to coach people. I don't do that either. So these are message requests that I don't accept, but if you go over here, you're going to find some message requests in there from maybe Deo or from Claire, and I really want you to accept those because they are the people who are going to give you access to all the gifts that I have for you. Now, if you're new to the group and you haven't actually seen that message request from Deo or Claire, you may have missed the fact that for people who join the group, I really want to love you up and let you know how welcome you are, and I'm giving you the first module of my Renovate Yourself Renovate Your Wealth course. And look, I think this is just a— it's such a powerful message that I want to get out to people. And if I can give you that first module for free, maybe you'll love it. Come along, have a look at the rest of the course. But I really want people to be able to have that. And Dario tells me that not everyone is actually accepting his message request, so you're not getting the link to the free module. So I really encourage you to jump on in and and check out those message requests. Dayo, Claire. And I've actually got Claire here as well. Hey Claire, welcome! I want you to wave to everyone. Everyone say hi to Claire. Claire's based in Sydney. Hi, hi everybody, nice to meet you. Excited about the masterclass. Well, Claire is an amazing magician herself and incredible, and I'm so fortunate to have her here helping me as a communications manager. So you might see Claire messaging you as well, and she's just one of the many people in the team. So I'll let Claire go, but know if you, if you see anything from her in the future, this is the person that you're talking to. Thanks, Claire. And I guess the, the other thing is that, you know, I really would love to just show you a little bit about the group and share that with you before we jump into the resilience masterclass. And I I have got so many things to share with you in the Resilience Masterclass. Every time I close my eyes and think about what we're going to discuss today, I think of something else I want to add. But I know that there's simplicity in actually just going with one message. So at the end of today, I'm going to leave you with 3 amazing tools. And, you know, I think the resilience is one of these superpowers that we all need, but sometimes, you know, we just don't have a way to activate it or know when to use it. Now, some other things that I really want to talk to you about. Hopefully you've seen some of my videos. Who's out there? Can I see anyone's comments there? Yes, I can hear you, and I'm in Airlie Beach. See, Facebook user, if you click that button, I'd know who you are. And hello, Claire. Claire, you've got a fan already. And hi, everyone. Now, if you click that thing, somehow or other Facebook does its thing and lets me see your beautiful face. And you know, the more comments we get, whoa, the more people are going to be on my little snake. And as you are added, we get to see how many comments are there as well. So anyhow, a couple of things that I really would love to share with you. First of all, would love to just take you through Your Success Club. Now, you know when you go on a first date and you kind of like the person and you want to spend a bit of time with them and then you're like, mm, I'm gonna kiss them at the end and they're gonna go for the great big rope. What's going on? I hate that about masterclasses. I hate that at the end you're getting this tension built up going, they're gonna sell me something. Well, here you go. I've got nothing to sell you. I've got courses. You can contact me if you want more support. You know, I do coaching with people who are intuitively trained or Natural Success graduates, but you know, I don't wanna sell you something. So don't think there's gonna be big pitches coming at the end of these masterclasses. There is an opportunity that I have to assist you and help you hopefully within this group with the guides that you're going to see at the top of the group and with all the videos that I'm going to share with you throughout the weeks and the masterclasses that I'll be running the last Thursday of every month at 10:00 AM. There's a lot of goodness there. So don't feel all weird and, and, uh, you know, get— think it's all going to get sleazy, but I do want to just let you know, about some of the things that I do. So if you have a look here, you will see my website, Your Success Club. Now this is where you can come to and just learn a little bit more about the ways that I can assist you. The courses, and you know, this is just basic courses to help people and introduce them to, you know, another way of thinking and to creating your own abundance. Renovate Yourself, Renovate Your Wealth. I've spent 20 years as a property and wealth coach and a renovation expert. There's some things I know about this, and having a community of 30,000 people, I have to tell you, I've heard all of the stories and all the excuses why people can't create wealth in their life, and that course goes straight into that. And Your Way to Wealth. I worked with my coach, William Whitecloud, and his book, The Magician's Way, and put it into a course. And I'm really proud about these 7 secrets. The vision call is just one of my absolute favorite things to do. And if you want some support a little later and you feel that you need a little bit more help, I would love to offer you a 15-minute call and we just work out if that vision call is for you, because creating the life that you want and connecting to that is just one of my absolute joys in life. And we'll get into that next month. And, you know, Obviously, I do coaching, accredited natural success coach. But that's all for now. Let's not go into that. Let's have a little bit of a chat about resilience, and let's just get into it. So, resilience. Let me tell you my thoughts on resilience. Resilience is absolutely a superpower. That we all need. But here's the thing. When we need it, we are often in a situation where there is tension, there is stress. We don't have all of our cognitive powers. We are sitting there in a moment where we actually have to engage with something higher, take ourselves out of the situation, and look at it from like the 10,000-foot view. But knowing to do that is a whole different way of thinking. And, you know, when I think back of the times that I've had with stressful situations in my life, you know, you're in the moment. You're in this period of, you know, stress and tension and worry, and everything becomes very small-focused. You don't have access to all the information and all of the things that could really assist you. And, you know, when I think about, say, for instance, the OG of the hero's journey, Campbell, and his comment around, you know, pain is inherent. We do have really difficult situations in our life, right? Pain is inherent. We can't escape humanity and the humanness of the experiences that we have and the circumstances we find ourselves in. But what he goes on to say is that suffering is optional. It's how we deal with the situation. And, you know, when I think about, you know, the ways that we are when we have a look at these situations where we are in this stress, you know, we go to these defaults. We go to these ways that we have always dealt with stress. And typically, it's flight. Fight, fawn, or freeze. There's 4 ways that we actually deal with situations of stress. And, you know, for some people, you know, they completely remove themselves from the situation. Some people come out swinging. You know, some people, you know, paralyzed with not being able to actually affect any action at all. And, you know, some people will sit there and, you know, they, they absolutely take off. They try to escape the situation. And what do you find in this is that there's often more situations that just keep coming up that keep dealing with or making you actually relearn the lessons in some instances, but how you actually deal with this situation. And, you know, over the last couple of months, I've been reading books about people who have been in these situations where your resilience is being tested. And there's a great book by David Goggins. Was quite famous for his original book, Can't Hurt Me. But he has this second book, which is never finished. And he was a Navy SEAL. And, you know, he had this very troubled background, you know, came from a family of abuse, you know, terrible situation with his father. And, and, you know, how his mother was put through the, you know, these, these terrible abusive situations and the effects on the little boys. And He talks around his escape was joining the Navy SEALs. But the problem was he was scared of the water. He was scared of the Pacific Ocean, which doesn't really help out when you wanna be a Navy SEAL, right? And so he was in this situation where he needed to be able to deal with it. And he teaches us a number of ways that he deals with it and how he learned. And he talks about this one situation where They're standing in the waves and these waves are crashing over them and they're holding arms together. And the sergeant's essentially saying, you can give up now. It's raining, it's cold, it's wet, you're freezing. Give up now, ring out. And he stopped for the moment and he thought about two outcomes. And one outcome was I could stop now and I could go and have the best shower. I could have a meal, I can ring out. I have a choice. So he made himself aware that there was a choice in this, in this moment. I have a choice. I can ring out. What is the consequence of that? I can go back to my small town and the only skills I really have is to be a security guard. Or I can stand tall. I can show some resilience. I can use my will. I can be completely focused on this moment. And I have the opportunity to go the other way. I have the opportunity to have a life where I can be of service, where I can be physically fit and mentally fit, and I can be within an organization that gives me the discipline and the structure to be all that I want to be. He had a choice. And, you know, when I think about, you know, how I wanted to talk to you about resilience and how it turns up in our lives, you know, the very first thing that I wanted to share with you is that awareness is the key. And when I think about awareness, it's about being in the present. It's being right here in the moment. And the way that David Goggins does that is he talks about taking the knee, which is get down on a knee and take a second. And what happens is that emotional part of your brain is turned off because you're in the logic part of the brain. You go to that prefrontal cortex, you engage the logic, you're in the present, and you take a breath. And so one of the tools I just wanna leave you with, and like right up front, here it is. Take a breath, take a knee. You're in a stressful situation, recognize with that awareness you are in a stressful situation. And get present. And for some people it's box breathing like the Navy SEALs use, you know, breathe in 4, hold for 4, breathe out for 4, hold for 4. Sometimes it's box breathing. Sometimes, you know, they're yoga breathing. That people do. Sometimes it's taking a knee, taking a breath. Sometimes it's just removing yourself for a moment, closing your eyes, and centering yourself. It's about being in the present. And being in the present is so very, very important. However, we also have to be aware that, you know, well, that may not suit everyone. There's another fantastic book by Mel Robbins. She has an incredible podcast. And she has a book called 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. It's exactly the same premise. It's around sitting back and counting backwards. Now, your brain actually has to engage the prefrontal cortex to count backwards, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, and it takes you out of all of these stories. And for those of you who have been, you know, trained or become aware of, you know, some of the stories that we tell ourselves, we tell ourselves these stories about, for instance, you know, I'm not worthy. And, you know, I can't do this. And if you think about this, I'm not worthy, it actually comes from the past. You've had these experiences that have kind of said, there's things that, you know, have happened in my past, and I'm going to bring those to the present, and that's all I've got to actually work through this difficult situation. And then there's people who have, like, you know, I'm not enough kind of stories going on, and they're the people who are, like, future-focused. They're all out here. They're the people who are like, you know what, 'Give me that IKEA pack, I'm gonna throw the instructions away and get there quickly.' Or they're the kind of people who are sitting there going, 'Yeah, yeah, yeah, let's get on with the instructions. Give me, give me the endgame. I don't want to have to experience all this pain. Give me the endgame.' You know, there's people who are sitting there in this future pace, there's people here sitting here in the past. And what you have to do in these situations of stress, of recognizing, you know, you are actually here right now in the moment, is this awareness piece. Now for those of you who have also been trained in some of the Natural Success curriculum, you probably are aware of the concept of circles. And circles is just a concept that allows us to define a space and create a moment in that space. It's being present. And it's interesting, David Goggins in his book, he talks about when the Navy SEALs, sometimes they get helicopters or they have to secure an area. He talks about in those first moments when they're on the ground and they're in a stressful situation, what they do is they secure the perimeter. And they secure that perimeter not because, you know, for safety or security, which is a byproduct, but they secure it often to actually get night vision so they can see clearly. It gives them a moment to say, here we are right now in this moment. This is where we're going to be. So, you know, we have a few tools up our sleeves that are, you know, the take a knee, take a moment, you know, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, breathe. Select a perimeter, create a circle and stand in that circle going, what is it that I want to create here? What is happening here? What is coming up for me? You know, and actually being aware of what's happening in the moment. Now, I would love for you to just think about this in your own lives. So let's talk about on a scale from 1 to 4. So 1 is, you know, gee, when I was a child, circumstances kind of— and we're looking at circumstances— things just happened to me. I had no control. And 4 was like, I completely kicked butt. I had absolute, you know, ability to actually see the situation. So I want you just to Think at a moment when you were a child, probably like pre-10, a situation where you're in a stressful situation. You know, you might have, for instance, had an experience where you came off your bike and there was blood everywhere, or you came across an accident with a kid at school. You know, there might have been something that, you know, a stressful exam or something that had come up with you, or were you trying something, riding a bike for for the first time, going skiing, whatever that is. Think of that stressful situation. Now, on a scale from 1 to 10, 1 being, "Nah, I had no control of those circumstances," and 4 being, "I did have control of the circumstances," just put into chat for me, you know, where were you in that childish or time of your childhood? Where were you in that circumstance? Did you have control? Were you kinda in control? Were you a 2 or a 3? No, 2 and a half. Yeah, where were you? Because I'm really interested in seeing, you know, allowing us to look back to our past and actually seeing some of the circumstances we're in. And the interesting thing about this— and just put it in chat, you know, 1, 2, 3, 4. Yeah, yeah. The interesting thing about this— okay, we're getting 1s, we're getting 3s. Great, fantastic. We've got some really self-aware people at at an early age. And but the thing here is that, you know, we're in this situation where we're in a situation where we either have it or we don't. And there's a circumstance that arises. And when we are in control of our circumstances, we're actually stepping outside of them and being aware that they're happening. When we're in the circumstances, we're sitting there and we're going, hmm, You know what? There you go, Anna, you almost had it. But we're in these circumstances and we're sitting there and we're going, it's happening to me. I have no control over this. And just think of like a period of time in your young adulthood. You know, you might have been at university, your job, or, you know, you were experiencing, you know, first love, relationships, you know, and something didn't go. There was a high tension. There was a high time of stress. You know, there was a circumstance that happened. Did you feel that you were in control? Did you feel like you were actually aware of what was going on and you had a choice that you can make? Or was the circumstance happening to you? Just start, just, you know, sit in that for a moment and sit into that experience and just see what comes up. Because, you know, in these times of stress, we often have these situations where You know, we don't feel that we have control and things are happening to us because we haven't taken the moment to actually become aware of it. Yeah, so I'm getting a lot more ones here. So, you know, when I think about the resilience and I think about, you know, the first kind of thing that I wanted to share with you today was that it comes down to awareness. We have to be aware that we're in this situation. And we need to take a moment. And when our thoughts and feelings come up, and, you know, these are great signposts, a great guidepost that goes, oh, wait a second, I'm in this stressful situation. I need to take a knee. I need to count backwards. I need to put myself into the present. Because you can only create solutions and create, you know, really genius and wise actions out of the present. You can't do that from your past, and you can't do it from, you know, concentrating on the future from where you are. You have to rise above it. And, you know, I remember when I was, um, I was working for an explosives company here in Australia, and they chose me to go overseas and, uh, work, do this course and learn how to do fatality investigations. And, you know, they had all of these detectives come in and teach us, you know, in case there was a mine site, um, fatality or fatality to do with explosives or people driving explosives through towns, etc., I was going to be the lead investigator. And, uh, lucky there, none of— no fatalities happened during my tenure. But, you know, I did have, uh, there was some near misses that I did need to actually use these skills. But one of the skills, one of the things that the detectives taught us and we were taught was to get that 10,000-foot view. And when we were talking to witnesses of a situation we needed to take them out of their perspective, their, you know, their stories that were going on, and we had to take them above and have a 10,000-foot view, you know. So, you know, talking to someone, for instance, there was a near miss where an explosive truck went over the edge of a mine site, rolled, you know, the man did survive. And the interviews were, "What happened?" He was like, "Oh, you know, I hit a bump and there was like some sun in my eye. I didn't see it," you know, and Yeah, that's what it was. Now using this technique and going 10,000 feet above, what we determined was, well, you know, let's not just start here at the moment. Just take me back and tell me what happened, you know, 24 hours out. Give me a kind of a run-up to the story. Oh, you know, we got a new baby at home and I got about 3 hours sleep and, you know, it's got colic and it's a bit difficult. My wife's pretty stressed out. It's her first child, et cetera. And this in the morning when I got to the truck, It wasn't the truck I usually use because the truck I usually use, the transmission had gone, and this is the older truck. And, you know, when I was coming around the corner, you know, someone came over around the wrong side and I had to, you know, kind of get back into onto the right path. And I noticed there was a rock in the road and the sun was shining and, you know, it was all very stressful. And, you know, I just sat back and just went, oh, what's going on here? I closed my eyes for a moment. I'm going over a cliff. So it wasn't necessarily the fact that there was a rock on the road and the sun was hitting him. You know, he had this period of complete tiredness. You know, he was tired. He was in an unfamiliar truck. And so there was processes and procedures we could put in place to help that situation, which is not the nature of this talk. But it's about, you know, taking that moment to go, let's have a 10,000-foot view. If you took yourself up, and which is one of the questions we ask, and you look down, what would you see? Oh, actually, this is what I saw. And that's what we're doing. This awareness is the key. So when we need to enact resilience, which is a superpower, which I'm going to give you some ways to do that a little later, first of all, we have to be aware that we need to put it in place. So awareness is the key there. And thank you for everyone who's been putting in their ones and and 3s. But if you think about this, you know, there's circumstances, and when they're happening, you often, um, are in the moment. You're in the moment so much that it is all happening to you. And it's not about being present in the moment, it's about being in all of your stuff right in this circumstance happening to you, as opposed to rising above it and being present and seeing everything that's happening and being availed to all of the information that allows you to make the next obvious step, which is where we're going to go next. But before we do, I just want to introduce our community manager to you, which is Dayo. And Dayo, how are you going? Let's, uh, let's come over here and say hi to Dayo. Dayo, hey Dayo, how are you today? How are you?
Hi, Jane.
I have to say, Dayo's smile and Claire's smile are always so, so bright. It's great to have them on the team. When we have meetings, it's nothing but white teeth shining away. Thanks, Dayo.
Hi, good morning. Yeah, I'm glad. I'm honored that I was invited here with Jane's masterclass. And I think I saw a few of these members that I already having, uh, reaching out. So don't get me wrong, sometimes I could be a stranger, but officially Jane Slack-Smith has introduced me as her community manager. So I appreciate you for, uh, you know, having conversation and inviting me to join the Your Success Club.
Thanks a lot, Deo. And you know, as I said, he's not some stalking person. If you see me, yeah, say hi to Daeo because he's the one who's going to give you the free access to a lot of the things that we're giving away here. So thanks, Daeo, appreciate you here.
Have a good one.
So let's just come back to the moment. So what we're talking about here is resilience. And, you know, what's really interesting is there's an awareness piece also about, you know, where we are. You know, we are in a matrix. We are, we are sitting there in this matrix and things are happening to us. And as I said, you know, we, we're kind of in this matrix and the bars, the prison bars, are our limiting beliefs. The prison bars are our circumstances. The prison bars have us in this kind of like momentum of a pendulum that's flowing backwards and forwards going, I got this, no I don't, I got this, no I don't. And What it does tell us is in actual fact, we have a choice. We have a choice of how we're going to show up. We have a choice to say, you know, how do I actually break out of the matrix? How do I escape that? How do I take myself away from that? And this is the next premise. And when I talk about premises, I'm not talking about infallible kind of laws in stone. I'm saying, let's work with this kind of idea until we either prove it really right and we make it our law, or we prove it really wrong, we're going, "Nah, that doesn't work." And when I think about, you know, the, the next topic that I'm really keen to, um, to discuss with you is that we have this choice. We are either working within our limitations, the conditions, the circumstances, or we actually rise above it. And it's when we get to this choice that we actually have this opportunity to go, Well, what, what do we choose to do? Where do we choose to turn up? You know, how are we actually going to allow ourselves to, to focus? And what do we want to create? And, you know, when I think about this in relationship to resilience, this is around how focus creates our reality. What we focus on is what we create. And, you know, we have this incredible kind of opportunity to look at the situation that we're in. We have the awareness that says we're in a situation where we need some skills that are going to actually assist us in getting through this circumstance. But what do we want to create? Because if we're in this pendulum and we are in this, you know, flow state where we're going backwards and forwards and backwards and forwards— I got this, You know, all of our subconscious is hearing, going, why do they keep telling me that I've got this? Do they not have this? Like, I don't have this, I've got this, I don't have this. And we're kind of in this situation where we're going backwards and forwards and backwards and forwards. And that situation is a situation that should give us an opportunity to go, okay, I have an awareness, I'm in the situation, but now I have a choice. What is the reality or this situation that I want to create? Where am I and what do I want to create? And, you know, recently I had the opportunity in visiting Africa, went on safari, and some of you may have even seen the video of my Lessons from Baboons. But what I found amazing there is that, you know, we've got this baboon who's the head baboon of this troop, and he's sitting there on top of the tree and he's just looking around. And, you know, he's He's watching out for danger and he's looking for the next great tree to take his troop to. And underneath, there's all of these fights. There's always this hierarchical fight going on. All of this noise, all of this confusion, distraction that could distract him, but he has one focus. He's sitting there going, "I have one job, to look after my troop." And when we're in this situation, you know, and we're looking at what's the one job that we have, what happens to us when we're in this moment? And we are sitting back and we're going, okay, what's my choice? Where am I? How do I want to turn up? We have a choice to actually take ourselves out of this kind of vibration. I got this. I don't have this. Oh my gosh. And we can take ourselves above it and rise above it and say, well, what is it that we want to create? And, you know, I think about these stories about, you know, some of the the situations that we get ourselves into where we have to actually, you know, have this vision of what we want to create. And there's a story about a young reporter who actually visited Bill Gates, the head of Microsoft. And Bill Gates said to him, look, I'll drop you to the airport on the way home. And, you know, it's on my way. Thanks for the interview, et cetera. And this reporter, Michael Moritz, his name was, got in the car and he's like, oh dude, someone stole your radio. Look, it's been ripped out. And Bill Gates says, oh no, no, I've removed the radio because I don't want to lose focus. I want every moment to concentrate on the success of Microsoft. That's my one focus. That's the vision that I have. That's the reality I want to create. And I don't want to be distracted. And what I find amazing about that story is that there's this absolute focus. So the circumstances that are happening, you know, people are suing him for whatever. There's people who are stealing his code and they're trying to replicate it. There's competition. And he's like, yeah, these things are happening. These are, you know, stories that are going on here, but they're down here at the bottom of the tree. I am the baboon at the top, and my job is to concentrate on one thing. So in these difficult circumstances, when you consider yourself in this circumstance and you've got this awareness and you have this opportunity to activate the precognitive aspect of your brain, and you're sitting there and you're going, okay, Okay, what's happening now? Let's work out what's happening. Let's rise above it. What is it that I want to create? What is the best circumstance out of this situation? What can I do? And, you know, as a— once again, as a, you know, young mining engineer, I got an open-cut examiner's ticket that allowed me to run an open-cut mine. I'd been in the mines rescue team for many years. You know, practicing in case someone got hurt. And over the radio came this announcement to say that a 240-tonne truck— so to give you an idea, the tyres on these trucks are basically twice a person's in height— a truck had run over a light vehicle, and there was an apprentice in this light vehicle. And I came hooning over this hill. I was in charge. I was the open-cut examiner. It was my job to run the mine in this shift, tell everyone where to go, and control any of the situations that came up. And as I came over this hill going, "Okay, oh my God, what's going on, what's going on?" I took a moment and I slowed down. I thought, "Well, what's the most obvious thing that I have to do here? I need to control the situation, make sure no one else gets hurt. I need to control the situation and look after the people who are influenced by this, the driver who thinks he's killed someone, I need someone to look after him. I need to secure the area so no one else gets hurt. And I need to go and assess the situation and get the Mines Rescue Team in to get the young apprentice out. It was about taking that moment and looking at what was the next step. And what did I want to create? What I wanted to create out of, let's face it, a really difficult situation, I wanted to create the fact that we were going to take care of the people who were in trouble. And make sure no one else got hurt. And that was my one focus. And once I had made that decision, every answer that I needed came up. Well, if that's all I wanna do, who do I need to look after? I need to make sure that no other trucks come down the road. I need to close off the road. I need to make sure that all the people who are involved are okay. And so, you know, this focus, this allowed me to actually step outside this very stressful situation and go, go, okay, what's the next step? What can I do next? And, you know, when I think about the times that we have, you know, and if you think about the times you've been in a stressful situation and you're in the moment, you know, just for the moment, step outside of that and go, what could have happened if I had a higher view? What could have happened if I actually concentrated on what I wanted to create? And here's, here's a like a next level kind of observation on this is that it's not about the circumstance. And as a, let's say, untrained, unaware, 25 years ago, you know, person, a version of myself, you know, I was still in this situation, you know, oh, here's a terrible situation. I can either rush into it and just get all involved and who knows what's going to turn up. Or I can actually take a moment and step back and have a look at it. And if I think about it, ooh, happen to have one here. I've got this pendulum, right? I'm just going backwards and forwards on the same kind of vibration, on the same kind of plateau of circumstances. I've got it, I don't have it. I got it, I don't have it. I got it. And what I wanna do is I wanna get up here. Now, getting up there may have absolutely nothing to do with the circumstance. So it might just be, what do I wanna create? You know, what am I trying to create in my life? And I think about, you know, some of the people that I've worked with over the years and, you know, they're in divorces and they're like, I don't want him to have the house and I want the kids and I want $1,000 a month in maintenance payments and I'm going to get him. I'm going to get him. He had an affair. I'm going to get him. And when we step back and have a look at the situation, it goes, what do you want to create? I want to create, you know, a happy, harmonious home for me and my family. I want to step out of the circumstance. I want to go above it. What do I really want? I want a happy and harmonious family. Okay, so let's go for that rather than being stuck down here. So I know there's a bit next level, but it's around not just being aware of the circumstance and not just being aware that you have a choice here, but in actual fact, if you took yourself out of it, what could you create? Because here's the game changer, and the game changer is you actually have this within you now. You actually have all of what you need within you, and we're always looking externally for, you know, you know, resources or assistance or, you know, validation or, you know, someone saying, I give you permission to do this. But you actually, you know, You're a powerful human. You've got so far already. Success has left clues. You know, you have created a life that's got you here and through probably some great troubles and circumstances of stress and strain and tension, but you are here now. And you know, when I think about success leaves clues, you know, to me what that is, is it's around, well, you know, where have you had circumstances in the past where you've actually got through? And you've actually, you know, been able to create something without really knowing how. It's because you had that belief, you had the vision of what you wanted to create, and you've let go of the how and you've sat back and gone, hmm. And I remember, you know, back in, um, 2019, I was diagnosed with Cushing's disease, which is a tumor on your pituitary gland, which is pretty much the hormone capital of the world for your body. And, um, I thought a week before the surgery, I was like, gosh, I should probably, you know, I could probably, if I put my mind to it, come up with a way to actually make sure I have a great surgery recovery and, you know, back to normal. And I found this, this meditation at the time, found this book this GP had recommended. And in the book they said you could buy the meditation. I'm like, hell yeah, do it twice a day. But one of the things that, that they said in this meditation which really, I guess, hit home for me was that, you know, we've been cut, we've had bruises, you know, we've, we've had injuries to our bodies in the past. And, you know, we might put a Band-Aid on it, but we don't know what's happening. Our body is actually healing itself. There's all of these things that are going on that are healing themselves. We actually have this incredible capacity to heal ourselves, our body physically to do that. And I just found that incredible at the time when I was listening to this meditation where you is going like, just think simply. If you cut yourself, you know, it gets better. And, you know, often, often when we're in these stressful situations, you know, we're orchestrating, we're trying to orchestrate an outcome. And the problem with that is that we are bombarded with all of this information. And according to Joe Dispenza, Dr. Joe Dispenza, there's 400 billion pieces of information every second that are hitting us. And it's not like they go past us. We actually take in 400 billion pieces of information every second, but we can actually only process 2,000 bits. And so what are— what's this sieve that we're processing these 400 billion bits through to get out just the 2,000 bits that allow us to make a decision on how we're going to do it? And that's our past experiences. That's the, the habits or the beliefs or, you know, the circumstances. If I do this, this will happen. That we're passing all of this information through. And so we become actually turned off to other answers, other opportunities, other ways of thinking. And, you know, when I kind of think about resilience and, you know, success leaves clues, we have had some success in the past. We have had these opportunities for us to go Oh, we've had some wins, but we haven't actually always known how the body is fixing itself. You know, we don't actually know how that is being created and we don't need to know. And, you know, when we kind of go through this, this, these difficult situations and there's information out there that, you know, we can't really put our finger on. And we're sitting there going, I don't actually don't have the answer for this. But if I can concentrate on what I want to create out of it, and I can be open and aware and let that information come up, I'm in a pretty good place. And, you know, for those of you who've seen The Crown, you probably know that Duke of Edinburgh and King Charles went to the school Gordonstone. And the principal of Gordonstone back in World War II was, um, brought in by the U.S. Navy to do a research study on why so many young sailors, when the U-boats were hitting the American boats, when they were in the water, cold water, the older men were actually, you know, surviving, but these young, virile, stronger, you know, more potent men, sailors, were not. They were the ones who were dying. And he came in and he this study. And what he found was that over a period of time, with age and experience, we build up resilience. We build up an experience that has a positive expectation when we get into a difficult situation that says, I've done this before, my body's healed before, I've been through a difficult situation before. I don't know how I'm going to do it this time, but I know with a positive expectation that I have been through this. I can achieve this. And you know, there's another amazing experiment where, you know, they have a cylinder full of water, they put all these frogs in. The frogs, you know, are in the water. After a period of time, you know, 8 minutes or something, they all drowned. Horrible situation, terrible experiment. But they did it again. They put a new lot of frogs in, and just before this 8-minute mark, they put and pulled them out, and they put them on the counter for a while, gave them a bit of a breather, put them back in. Those frogs then swam and tried to keep alive for the next 20+ hours because they had an experience of success. And success leaves clues. You have everything you— within you to deal with situations and circumstances that come up. You have to be aware of them, as we learned, You have to then be able to make a conscious choice of what you want to create, but you have within you everything that you need to deal with this situation. And the way that I like to think of that is that over your lifetime, you've built up this resume of resilience. You've built up these experiences where you have been able to deal with difficult situations. You have been able to look outside of the matrix or outside the beliefs and go, okay, Okay, like this is like something I've never dealt with before, but I know from my past that I've got through tough times. And just like those sailors that have got through the tough times, they're in the water going, "Hmm, you know what, I've got through tough times," where the younger ones haven't had, you know, to deal with adversity to such an extent that they could actually pull on that, you know, that experience in the past and go, "Yeah, let's just work out what I'm going to do." I want to survive. I'm going to wait it out for as long as I possibly can until a boat comes, and a boat will come. They know we're here. Which got me thinking about this resilience resume. You know, if we've got— you know, we're here, we're like, you know, we've got all these past difficult circumstances that have built up our experience here. Well, what if we can actually build on our resume in good times? What if we can actually sit back now and go, you know what, I don't physically like to put myself out there and, you know, train, train, train till I'm sweating and, you know, can't— can hardly hold my body up. But if I do that now, if I'm in a really tough situation in the future, that getting up at 5:00 AM and going to the gym and, you know, doing the weights or like I did this morning, 60 squats, you know, that's actually going to give me the capacity for my body to have the physical strength to be able to deal with physical situations in the future. But it also gives me the mental strength because I'm building up that resilience now to go, yeah, what if I can punch out another 10 squats? What if I can do another 20 incline push-ups, you know? And If you think about the circumstances you've had in the past and you think about all of these experiences, they are your resilience CV. And this is the, you know, invention that I've come up with, the resilience CV. But just think about it. Think about what you've been through. And think about pulling all of those memories and all of those circumstances, and some may have been positive and some may have been outcomes that you didn't want, but they're all experiences that have actually built you and given you some skills, resources, and information that you can draw on. And all of that information that you have can go into how you deal with the next difficult circumstance. And how you deal with the next difficult circumstance is just remember, you know, are you in the pendulum? Are you like, I got this, I don't have it, I got this, I don't have it? Or are you sitting above it and going, you know, this is happening below me, but actually, what do I want to create out of this? This is a terrible situation, but how do I want to get out of it? Because that positive expectation is the thing that is actually going to give you the opportunity to draw on the information. And as you build up your resilience CV to the next situation that comes up that is a difficult situation, and as you're building that up in times of comfort, and maybe, you know, for instance, you know, I think about I was asked to go and speak to a group of people, and I was so scared in standing up in front of this entire group of people and giving, you know, this talk. And I was sitting there going like, what can I do to make this easier for me? How can I do this? And I thought, well, how about getting training in front of talking in front of people? So I did Toastmasters. And when the head Toastmaster told me my talk was a bees dick away from being perfect. I thought, well, I must be ready. But I was building that up because I knew that this talk was coming. I knew it was gonna scare me. I knew if I got on stage and I started speaking to these people and I wasn't confident and I wasn't giving a clear message, then, you know, it was a waste of time and frankly money for the people who had spent the money to be there. And, you know, I didn't want that to happen. So what did I do? You know, I took an obvious step. You know, I went and spoke in front of people when it wasn't so stressful, when it was only 10 people, it wasn't 250 people. And so, you know, just think about this in context of how are you building up your resilience CV in comfortable times so that you have that information and you have that experience and you have a positive expectation when you're dealing with a difficult situation. Which brings us to almost the end here. Oh, we've got people here saying hi. Oh, how funny is that? Margot's saying, the moment you said, I took a moment and to slow down, the internet feed stopped and stalled. There you go, I had the power. Lovely to see so many of you here. Hey Adrian, lovely to see you as well. Oh, Adrian and Gary. It is, it's almost the top of the hour and I don't want to spend any more of the time than I need to. So I'm going to bring all this together. And I want to talk about the fourth aspect. So, you know, if we think about what we've talked about today, we've talked about, you know, awareness is the key, focus creates reality, you have all within you to actually get through tough times, you're going to build up your resilience CV, you've got 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, you've got an opportunity to set a perimeter, a circle, or take a knee. So we have these tools now that we can put into place. And for me, you know, creating the next step is actually as simple as using your will. And how we talk about will in context to this is will is actually the opportunity for you to hold yourself whole. You don't need any other information. You don't need any other resources. It's not a poor me. I don't have this. It's not a Oh my goodness, I'm gonna, you know, go to my default way of dealing with difficult circumstances— flight, fight, fawn, or freeze. I'm going to recognize that. I'm going to recognize that awareness when that comes up, and I'm actually going to deal with it. You know, I, I'm going to hold myself whole and say, I've got this. I may not know the answers, but I've got this. I've got all all within to be able to come up with the information. And we talked about positive expectations. And, you know, as I said, a number of years ago, I was diagnosed with Cushing's disease. It's like 1 in a million people. There you go. I am 1 in a million, as we all are. Turns out that pretty much every horse and dog has Cushing's disease. It's just that it's not known in humans, but 30% of people in autopsies do have it. And, uh, it, as I said, it's a tumor on pituitary gland. And some people get a, um, it gets so big it affects their eyesight. Often someone's treated for their thyroid and then they get diabetes and then they, you know, get all these other things and the doctor's treating all the symptoms without knowing that it's just a tumor on the pituitary gland. Anyhow, I got diagnosed with it. I had really high cortisol, an on person, I don't know, alpha person, don't turn off. High cortisol, which means adrenaline's going all the time, which some people still think I have, but that's just me naturally. You should have seen me before. And, and so pretty much, you know, I got diagnosed, made a decision to have the operation. Very simple. They go up through the nose, pull it out, it's done. Takes, you know, 3, 4 hours. And I, as I said, you know, I had these, these meditations, this visualization, and part of this visualization was They had this positive expectation of the operation itself and the outcome. And I thought, if I have this positive expectation and I create this vision of what I really want to achieve out of this, you know, a very great operation with nothing going wrong and a really good recovery and no recurrence, then I'm going to create that. I'm going to say I have the power within me. I'm going to use will. To actually get myself through this circumstance. But one part of this visualization was to imagine the surgeon cutting into where they had to remove the tumor from, cutting it out and going in to cut it out. All the blood moves away. They see it clearly. They see all of it, cut it out, and then fresh blood comes in and, you know, and allows that regeneration and quick recovery. Yeah. So I've gone in for this operation, supposed to be like 3, 4 hours. And we got in at 6 o'clock and 8 o'clock I'm in recovery and here's the surgeon sitting there and I'm like, oh no, what went wrong? Like 2 hours. Like you've told me it could be like 3, 4, 5, 6 hours. What's gone wrong? He said, oh, it was amazing. You know, I cut in and as I cut in, the blood moved away. I could see the whole tumor. I cut it out. The blood came back. It was easy. Easiest operation I ever had. I'm like, still on morphine. I was like, I did that. He's like, no, I'm the surgeon. I did it. No, I did that. And so, you know, the thing is that it's one of those things where, you know, I had the will to go, okay, what do I need? What is it that I want to create? I want to create a successful operation and a great recovery and an outcome where, you know, this is something that I put beside behind me. It's not, you know, a story that defines me. It's not my life. I didn't change, you know, everything about my life afterwards. It's not something that's a poor me where I get, you know, people who are trying to go, oh, you know, this is your life, you're a tragic, you know, had this tragic thing happen to you. It was a circumstance. I dealt with it. I had a positive expectation. I found tools and resources that just came to me that I could use. I.e., the visualization. And I had, you know, I took, you know, decisions to have good doctors, good endocrinologists, etc. But for me, it was around, you know, making sure that I had everything that I needed within me to act and that positive expectation to get through that situation. And, you know, when I think about, you know, people who, who are in these really difficult situations, you know, And resilience is something that, you know, we have this kind of like, well, I know that my body's, you know, looked after itself in the past. I know that I've been through this situation. I know that I can actually create the reality that I'm visualizing. And I had absolute belief in doing that. And so, you know, the purpose of this masterclass today is really around You know, having some tools that when in difficult situations that you can put in place, but also building some tools so that when you do get into the difficult situations, you actually have them. You have this CV, this résumé of, you know, resilience that gives you these positive expectations. And being able to create the vision, you know, the vision of the life that you want to have, the vision of the outcome that you want from the situation. Is not necessarily the outcome that's associated with the situation. It's not necessarily, you know, I want to, you know, get all the money from the divorce, and the outcome that I don't want is that he's going to take all the money, I'm going to get money. It's about what do I want? You want a harmonious, safe home for my family and I. And it's those visions that allow us to actually connect with what we really want. And when we throw emotion in there too, and we visualize that, you know, I'm going to be recovering from this situation, this brain tumor, and be out the other side. And, you know, and be able to share the experience with people from a positive aspect so that they can actually, you know, be, be inspired by the fact that, well, you know, here's an example of how someone has dealt with this. So, you know, when I think about that and creating the vision and, you know, creating the life that you want, and it's one of one of the reasons that I just love doing the vision calls with people because, you know, we have the opportunity to step in, what is it that you really want to create? And often, you know, and people who've been through the Natural Success work, you know, we have these land of plenty that we have these kind of, what's the next 6 to 9 months of what we want to create towards what we really are going for? I love connecting with what are we really going for and holding that in mind in a stressful situation or in a positive situation of, you know, what you want to— having that positive situation, what you want to create, you're actually taking yourself out of this pendulum swing of, yeah, I got this, I don't have this, oh my gosh, what's happening in this situation? What do you want to create? You know, I want to create a life of ease where things don't happen to me, I happen to things. You know, I am not within the matrix boundaries, I'm playing with the matrix boundaries. I'm sitting at the top of the apex and I'm sitting there looking at life going, And what is it that I want to create? And, uh, and having that vision allows you to connect with what you really want within any circumstance. Having the awareness and being able to make yourself present so that all your past and, um, uh, situations aren't being affected to the future. They're giving you the keys and they're helping you build resilience. And once we have resilience, we can, you know, get through circumstance. Circumstances that are happening to us. Because let's face it, our life story is not our life. It's just the stories that we make up. Our life is the vision of what we want to create. And we leave our stories behind. They're not coming into these difficult circumstances and clouding our vision. We take a moment, we come over the hill and go, how am I going to deal with this, this, you know, collision between a truck and a light vehicle? How am I going to deal with this situation? You get to be the baboon. You get to be the Bill Gates. You know, have that vision, have that clarity. So I hope everyone has enjoyed this first Resilience Masterclass. I plan to bring these to you every Thursday, last Thursday of month at 10:00 AM so that we can support our people over in the US too and on different time zones. Obviously, if you're watching this on recording, hey, let me know how you are with your 4s and your 1s and your 2s and your 3s when you deal with situations. I'm going to come back and have a look. And if you feel that I can support you anytime, you know, drop me a message, put something down below and say, hey, reach out, and we'd love to just organize a 15-minute chat to see if I can support you. Because, you know, I know that we have everything within us to be able to create the life of abundance that we want. And being part of this group, you know, I just want to keep bringing to you, you know, tools and stories and inspiration and sharing and some of the stories of abundance that other people have had as well so that we can all create this life of abundance for ourselves because it's all about your success. That's it for this month. Thank you so very much. Make sure that you check out those message requests from Clare and Deyo. They are there trying to love you up and give you lots of free gifts and guides. And till next month, I look forward to chatting to you soon. Thank you, everyone.
