Your Way to Wealth (The Magicians Way) Module 7

The speaker explores how will shapes entrepreneurial success, sharing exercises like daily corner-checking to build intuition. She uses Nathan Lyon's baggy-green cap and stories about limiting client load to show how aligning business with purpose, not profit, creates lasting change through consistent heart-driven habits.

Everything that she was sharing today was happening on a number of different levels. She was quite specific about working with your own goals. I just love seeing people step into their true passion or nature and go, "I claim this and I want to leave this legacy for the world." It takes will. It takes will. His name's Nathan, but it takes will. And what I love about that is, like, it's funny, 'cause, you know, I was saying to a few people, like, I'm already here, let's have dinner tonight, last night. And invited you, and they said, "Oh, where's Joanna?" I was like, "She's doing homework, she's doing work." And they're like, "Did we have homework?" And she's like, "For tomorrow?" I'm like, "No, she said art homework. I didn't even know she's doing art. Like, I don't know." And I was like, "But she's doing her thing, you know, and she needs to get that done before she's here." And it's funny because the fact is that you recognize now that maybe in retrospective of what you were doing, but it's in the time, right? And it's been trying to catch it just before you get to it. And that's why it is always like this edge that you're on, which is the razor's edge, right? And it takes will, which we'll get to in the next session. But I can just introduce it now. The thing that you've kind of like identified and spoken to is the fact that it's not always easy. And you have to be vigilant and you have to be aware and you have to be awake and you have to be conscious because the path of like the creator or the path of creating is one that for me, it's about having a muscle that I'm always testing and advancing on. So I remember saying to William, I think I'd like to develop my intuition. How do you do it? And he said, well, you just do it. I was like, yeah, no, I need action steps. I'm an engineer. I need like, the process procedure makes me feel so comfortable. Like, just talk me through it. He's like, okay, so every morning when you walk out the door, say to your intuition, which way am I gonna go? And every corner you get to, ask intuition where you're gonna go. Set an intention, I need to get to work in 15 minutes, but use your intuition. And so for a year, every day I stepped out the door, I'm like, where am I gonna go? Every corner I came to is where I'm gonna go. Sometimes I'd go to go down laneways, And I go, this doesn't feel right. I don't think I'll go down this dark, dingy, rank little alleyway. And sometimes I did, and I found the most amazing street art. And I just used my intuition and did it. And now I don't even do that. It's almost like I've built up a muscle memory. And I get to the point where I'm like, OK, I now trust I have shown my unconscious, or whatever it is, that this is the way I do things. I'm going to trust the gut. I'm going to trust the intuition. And I now consciously, when I find myself exhausted or overwhelmed or I have to do things, I sit back and I think, how did I get myself here? And what's the true vision I want to create? I want to work with people in a way that is effortless for me but creates incredible value for them. I wanna transform lives with the work that I do. Does that mean that I have to create the marketing plan and the vision board and the day 1 to 90 first plan, etc., or is it me setting that for them and keeping them accountable to that? And it's so easy as a business owner. I've got 3 companies, right, and I've got people, and I know I can, I feel I feel often that I can do better than other people, or it would take me longer to tell them how to do something. And whatever they present at the end is gonna be much better than what I do, but it takes me so long to tell them, I'd rather have 80% than 100%. And I sit back and go, okay, this may only take me 3 hours, but I'm gonna think about it, and it's gonna take 20 hours of my time and effort to be caught up in this, and then catch up. With other things? Could I be using that time somewhere else better for what I truly want to create? And it's like the mentoring, you know, I only work with like 10 people at a time because I truly want to be in their vision. I want to wake up every morning and be able to think what their end vision is. Like, I feel the end vision of all the people I work with. I want to be able to do that, and I can't do that I could make more money with 30 or 40 people, sure, but that's not what I'm doing it for. So it's like coming back to why you're doing it and who you wanna be engaged with. And it allows, once you have that kinda higher perspective, it's easy to get down to, look, I need the money, so I'm gonna take the 5 grand to do this. But doing that is probably gonna take you away from the opportunity to work with the 50 grand person that you can actually affect 100 lives with what you do, because what you do is amazing, right? And empowering, and it changes lives. And so you can take the money, or you can feel the pain for a period of time to go with who you really want to work with, and you attract them because you're in the end result. But it takes will. Ultimately, your highest source of energy is your own heart. Yet the paradox is that you are conditioned to protect your heart, a behavior motivated by fear. Your fears are communicated to you by your thoughts and feelings. There can be no sustainable change in your experience of life unless you have the will to choose to follow your heart over resolving your thoughts and feelings. So this is the difficult bit, right? So this is where we get down to how do we actually choose to show up? Do we choose to show up going for our heart, or do we choose to show up to come from our fears? And that last bit, you know, you choose to follow your heart over resolving your thoughts and feelings. It takes will. There is action. We talked about action earlier. The reason that I put up this portrait that, once again, I stole from my husband, of Nathan Lyon. Nathan is a famous Australian cricketer, a bowler. And he came to my husband's studio, and Todd said to him, how would you like to be immortalized? What is the moment that you would that summed it all up for you? And he said, he was really silent for quite a while actually. I thought he'd fallen asleep, but it turns out he wasn't. And he said, there's a photo that was taken of me in Dubai. And I had just walked onto the pitch. And I was like, I have been away from my family for 4 weeks. It's hot. It's horrible. I don't want to be here. And he said, and then all of a sudden I thought, why am I here? And he said, I put my hands on my baggy green cap. And the baggy green cap is a cap that the cricketers get when they are called up to become part of the Australian cricket team. And he said, From the age of 10, all I wanted to do was wear the baggy green cap. That was it. Every waking hour was either playing cricket or thinking about cricket and thinking how I could be good enough to wear the baggy green. Now, I don't know if many of you know his story, but he essentially was a greenskeeper in Adelaide in South Australia. And he would be there looking after the pitch whilst the team, the Adelaide team, was kind of practicing. And every now and then they didn't have a bowler and they go, "Can you come over and help us?" He got called up to the Australian team and he got given his cap, his baggy green. And he said for 2 weeks after he got it, he slept with it under his pillow. Right, this is how important it was to him. He says, so I stepped out onto this field. I didn't want to be there. It was hot. I'd been away from my family. And I touched the hat. And I had the will to go out there. And he did this incredible kind of, you know, end of tour kind of bowling kind of things. And when I look at this, you know, it really strikes me that sometimes it's hard. Right, sometimes being on the path of the creator, the Magician, you know, choosing to turn up every day in a way that is going to be consistent of following your heart and not from your fears and your beliefs and, you know, your brain that's working as an energetic little energy-saving machine. And it turns, you know, your thoughts and feelings into things that are bigger and more important than what they really are. You turn up every day and you have to be vigilant. You have to choose the way of the creator. You're building up this amazing kind of muscle memory of how you choose to turn up. And I pulled up a couple of these topics because I think the thing around will is that It just defines how we apply the power. Are we in the higher or are we in that lower? Like, what, what energy source are we pulling from? And you use your will to take your attention off the lower vibration, the lower energy beliefs and conditions, and hold it on the higher. And to do that, you're doing that by creating that structure, because we know structure has integrity and And integrity just means it always just performs how it always should perform. It's predictable. So we create the structure of, I know where I'm coming from, I know where I want to be, I put my energy in the end result, up comes wisdom and an obvious action to take, and it takes will to take that action. And it sounds simple, but it's probably the hardest premise around all of this because it is. You know, it is a daily choice. It's an hourly choice. It can be a choice minute to minute to take that active step to participate and address your fears and address your thoughts and feelings and the things that make you a magician. Because when you assume that you're a magician, when you assume that, you know, there is the magician's way, what it really takes to find your treasure, your treasure is your heart and your heart is what you truly desire and what you truly want. And what I love about this is it brings all of these other secrets of the Magician together. Because what it says is, you know, there's always something that— an action that you can take. You can get into the doing, the exhaustion, the fears, the beliefs, the past, or you can choose to take a new way of operating, a new operating system. And create new patterns and create the muscle memory for the new patterns so it just becomes an innate way of how you work and how you operate. She's got a very down-to-earth approach, very open with conversations and a proven track record as well. I've spent probably the last 5 years just trying to dive into this concept. I love that movement, I love the journey, and I love the joy and the delight of those experiences.
