A spoken-word performance where the narrator wakes to internal voices calling them nothing, obsessing over breathing, and feeling precariously balanced. They describe a mansion of cards collapsing, unable to tell success from failure, trapped in a rigged game where fear and hopelessness feel inescapable.
Look. I wake, the first thing I do is look for a good reason to stay in the bed. Right when I step out on the floor, got the voices screaming inside of my head. They tell me I'm nothing, they tell me I'm bluffing, they tell me I'm better off dead. I'm overthinking the way that I'm breathing, I'm hanging by one little thread. I look in the mirror, see something strange, don't know who I am anymore. While building a mansion of cards, wait until they all fall on the floor. Fear of success to failure, come on, it's all the same. I'm playing a game where the rules are all rigged, I'm the one who's taking the blame.
