J.T. Books & Films is live talking about our Identity!

This content was created by Jason Tremko. This content was uploaded by Jason Tremko. This is a YouTube live video titled "J.T. Books & Films is live talking about our Identity!" (uploaded 2026-06-16) featuring a single presenter from J.T. Books & Films who identifies as a Christian and runs a recovery (12-step) program in Western North Carolina. The speaker delivers a faith-based monologue about identity and recovery—citing 2 Corinthians 5:17 and 1 Peter 2:9—encouraging listeners to see themselves as new creations in Christ rather than labeling themselves by addiction, depression, anger, etc. The talk includes personal testimony, promotion of the speaker's book/film The Green Glitch: What's Behind the Devil's Lettuce (available on Apple TV, YouTube Movies, Google Play and possibly Tubi), and an announcement about a forthcoming podcast episode with his daughter. The tone is pastoral, motivational, and promotional.

I thought I'd do something a little different this morning. And, you know, I'm running a building recovery program, 12-step program out here in Western North Carolina. And I figured I'd kind of share the topic that we discussed this week. This past Thursday, we had our building recovery session and we talked about, you know, identity, our identity. So for those of you that follow me, you know that I am a believer and I'm a Christian, and, you know, I believe that that's a very important thing that many of us who struggle with addiction or, you know, drug usage or recovering from hurts, habits, hangups, things like that in our lives, I think that's the one ingredient that we miss. You know, people are paying $20,000 to go get some help, uh, you know, at a recovery center or something like that, you know, when all they got to do is turn to Christ for free, and he can truly set you free. So anyway, Um, I figured I'd talk about this real quick. So I have a scripture, all right? It's 2 Corinthians 5:17. And you know, maybe you're a person who's not a believer. That's okay, right? I am not the person that's going to judge you, condemn you. First of all, that's not my business, okay? Your relationship with the Lord is your relationship, okay? Whether you believe, whether you don't believe, it doesn't matter, okay? That's between you and him. Okay, because we have free will. But, you know, just have an open mind because maybe, maybe this is one thing you've been missing. Okay, but anyway, let's talk about this. You know, there's people out there who struggle with their identity, you know, so maybe, you know, they label themselves as an addict or I'm a depressed person. Maybe I'm a suicidal person. Maybe, maybe I'm just an angry person, right? Those are all labels that we give ourselves. Anger. You know, depression, all those kind of things, okay? They're real things, but we label ourselves with those things. So I want to talk about what the Bible says about that, okay? So 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away, behold, the new has come. So in other words, the new you has come. Okay, so once you take on that identity, you know, it's a new you. Okay, and that's what's awesome. So, you know, we don't have to dwell on those things of the past, you know, those hurts, habits, and hangups in our lives, right? Because once we walk in that new identity, we are free from those things. So it's pretty cool. Okay, so again, um, you know, maybe you're a believer, maybe you're not a believer, Okay, doesn't matter. Okay, because all I'm doing is I'm trying to help you understand maybe there's some things that you've been missing. Okay, maybe that one thing that you've been missing is, uh, just looking at what the Bible says. Honestly, guys, you know, uh, 1 Peter 2:9 says, but you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's own possession. So, you know, Again, you may label yourself as an addict or a, um, a depressed person or an angry person. Those are labels that we give ourselves, all right? But if we understand that we're more valuable than that, we'll start to see that we have more purpose in our life, right? And that's what I want you all to understand, okay? Um, the Bible says that we are God's own possession. So that means he values us. He knew exactly what he was doing when he created us. He created us for a purpose. And I can tell y'all, you know, when you walk in that purpose, it's a cool thing. You know, I wrote this book, The Green Glitch, okay, what's behind the devil's lettuce, you know, and that's a book that 70% of people on this planet will oppose, okay. But yet I always say light outshines darkness, you know. So, you know, when I stepped out in faith, on that book because that's what I was inspired to do. Um, it's been great. I haven't had any problems. People have supported me. Um, you know, so when you, when you walk in the path that God has created for you, good things will come, you know. And that's what I want to encourage you with today. Um, put your identity in Christ, okay? Don't put it in man. Don't put it in things of this world because those things are, they're gonna they're gonna pass away. Honestly, all things on this earth are going to pass away. You know, if you really think about our life, it's a temporary time, okay? We are just a temporary creature. Um, I, I wrote a song about that. It's called Temporary Creatures, right? Because if you think about it, all we are is just a borrowed shell. Um, our soul is what matters, all right? That's going to live on forever. So, you know, invest into your future. Okay, because that's what matters. Uh, but yeah, yeah, I don't know, I just feel like somebody should hear that this morning. Uh, your life is valuable and, uh, you have a purpose, so walk in that purpose. It's a cool thing. All right, uh, encourage somebody, lift somebody up. All right, there's a lot of people in this world that are struggling, trying to find out, you know, what they're supposed to do with their life and things like that. So help them understand You know, they're created for a higher purpose. You know, it's just a good thing. So y'all, I hope y'all have a wonderful day. And oh yeah, tonight, tune in. So I did a little podcast the other day with my daughter. And, you know, I'm kind of new to the whole podcasting thing. Like, you know, most of the time I'm a guest on a podcast, but now I'm actually trying to host my own. And we're going to do a lot of different topics and things, but I'm still learning how to use the software. So I think I figured it out. All right, but the broadcast that we did the other day, it was kind of bad. The audio was kind of bad and stuff, so I deleted it. We're going to redo it again tonight. Um, you don't want to miss it. Okay, so, um, I'm thinking probably about, I don't know, 7 o'clock-ish our time here on the East Coast is when we will go live. So I would love to have y'all tune in on that, listen up to it, and also If you have not checked out my film, go check it out, okay? The Green Glitch: What's Behind the Devil's Lettuce, right? I have some very exciting announcements about that. I can't tell you yet, okay? But, um, some good news coming, okay? So this film is doing well. It's won quite a few awards, and, um, you know, it's on— it's on, um, Apple TV, it's on YouTube Movies, um, Hopefully it'll be on Tubi soon. It's also on Google Play, so just search up The Green Glitch: What's Behind the Devil's Lettuce. Powerful documentary. Okay, so go check that out. Um, if you haven't followed me, go to, um, JT Books and Films, or you could just search up Jason Tremko Books and Films, and you'll find me on YouTube. So, uh, would love to have y'all get on there and check it out. All right, y'all, y'all be cool. Have a great day.
