J.T. Books & Films is live - Get motivated

This content was created by Jason Tremko. This content was uploaded by Jason Tremko. This is a YouTube video titled "J.T. Books & Films is live - Get motivated" (published 2026-06-22). The excerpt is a solo on-camera monologue by a retired U.S. Army service member / JROTC instructor (labeled here as SPEAKER A) filmed at Fort Bragg. He gives a motivational talk about productivity, learning skills, staying motivated, and challenges facing young people (including his view on marijuana and substance-related barriers to military service). He references his background (20 years in the military, retired, 43 years old, teaching for six years), promotes his book/film The Green Glitch, invites guests to his podcast, and teases upcoming announcements. The content is promotional/motivational vlog-style rather than a multi‑party conversation.

What's up guys, how y'all doing? So I am down here at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, still, uh, rocking this uniform, doing some Army training stuff, uh, even though I'm retired, you know, because I'm, I'm busy ROTC teacher and stuff. So, uh, good training. So with that being said, I figured I'd talk to y'all about some, uh, some motivation. Today. All right, so, you know, I woke up early this morning, I was driving around Fort Bragg, and, uh, you know, seeing all the high-speed motivated people out here, you know, kind of got me back to my roots, you know, 20 years in the military. And, uh, you know, it kind of brings me to where I'm at now, you know. I think back to my life, you know, 20 years in the military, you know, 2 marathons, You know, I write books, I make films, things like that. Stay productive, you know I'm saying? Like, too many people waste their time, you know, just sitting around watching TV or, you know, looking at their phone, you know. So get out and do something productive, guys. Learn a skill, you know, get a hobby. A lot of people these days don't have a hobby, you know, and you're never too old, guys. I mean, I'm 43, you know, quickly working on 44. And, um, you know, a lot of people would say, oh, I'm just too old. We actually have, uh, an instructor here. This guy is— he's been teaching. He did his 20 years in the military. He's been teaching high school for 32 years, you know. And some of these guys, I mean, they're still, they're still getting it in, you know, running and working out, and they're like 70-something years old, you know. So, um, that's, that's one thing I love about the military, you know. You get around motivated people. That challenge you to be better, challenge you to just work hard, you know, stay committed to, to something. So, you know, you know, maybe you're just kind of like trying to figure out yourself, you know, what's good with you, what your goals are, you know. Hey, challenge yourself. It's never too late to learn something new and get motivated, man, you know. Get out there and, and do something that's productive, something that's going to make this world a better place. You know, that's what it's all about. So, you know, just wanted to say that real quick. Also, you know, The Green Glitch is doing really well. So if you haven't had a chance to watch the film yet, you know, go on there and check it out. You know, just Google search The Green Glitch: What's Behind the Devil's Lettuce, you know, and you can watch the film and read the book and stuff if you haven't seen that yet. And Again, I still got some very exciting announcements coming up in July. I can't announce it just yet, but I will be very soon. But, you know, kind of goes along with, you know, what I talk about, you know, I'm down here doing some cool stuff down at Fort Bragg, some Army training and whatnot, you know, but it kind of goes back to what I write about, you know, and the way I feel that I do, you know, about, you know, young people and how they're impacted by drugs and marijuana and even alcohol these days. You know, it just limits people. It holds them back. It takes away their motivation in a lot of cases. And, um, you know, that's the reason I wrote that book and made the film. So, you know, go check it out. You know, I see a lot of young kids out here, you know, I call them kids, they're not kids, they're adults, they're like 18-year-olds, you know, 19-year-old privates running around doing good things, you know, serving their country, going to college, you know, things like that. And it's inspirational. It's good to see the next generation stepping up. You know, I'm the old guy now. You know, 43 years old. I'm like, dang, I'm getting old, right? But, um, you know, it's good to see the next generation out there doing big things. And I would encourage you to do something big. You know, maybe you're a young person checking out this video, trying to figure out what you want to do with your life or whatever, you know. Don't limit yourself, okay? Uh, you can always do more. You know, when I was a military recruiter, I would see a lot of young people, um, you know, that I knew should have been in the military, you know, or I knew they should have been out doing some bigger things, but they just limit themselves. They hold themselves back. Um, and in a lot of cases, I saw young people hold themselves back simply because of marijuana. Literally, they would say, I need to join the military. They would apply to join the military. And then they couldn't get in because they couldn't stop smoking the weed. So again, that stuff just has a powerful hold on people. So that's why I feel so strongly about it. I always go back to that because I've just seen it, you know, hold so many people back, um, you know. But maybe it's not weed, maybe it's something else, maybe it's, uh, a girl, or, you know, whatever. I've seen that a lot too, you know. Um, whatever's holding you back, guys, you know, get out there and and make something of yourself, whether it's the military or going to college or a profession. You know, don't be scared to get out there and challenge yourself. You know, find something. Um, I was talking to a guy today, uh, who was telling me that he should have joined the military a long time ago, and he didn't because he didn't want to make his, his parents mad. And, you know, his parents were both in jail. They were, they were in prison. And, uh, I'm like, man, you know, like, you're listening to people who are kind of trying to hold you back, honestly, you know what I'm saying? Like, get out there and make something of yourself, you know. I was retired from the military, 38 years old. My college was paid for. My kids, their college degree is going to be paid for. So I'm not even in the military anymore. I've been retired for 6 years, right? But I still am an advocate of it, you know. And I would tell people, you know, don't, don't be scared to limit— or don't be scared to Challenge yourself, get out there and learn a new skill. Make something of yourself, y'all. So, um, that's what I would tell y'all, you know, learn a skill, get motivated. That's, that's really what this was about today. Um, also, if you're interested in being a guest on my podcast, I would love to have y'all out there. No, I'm not a cop. So yes, I'm a cop. No, I'm actually— I am retired military. I'm actually a JROTC instructor. So I did 20 years in the military, and then I did— and I'm still a current teacher. I've been teaching for 6 years. So that's what I do. Um, you know, I care about the future of America. That's what I do, you know. So I try to— I try to write content that makes America a better place, you know. I try to take care of people, um, help them become a better person. That's what it's all about. So yeah, and you're welcome. Thank you. Um, yeah, this new uniform kind of looks like a sheriff. People tell me that all the time, like, you look like a sheriff. You know, I guess they, you know, the military decided the AGSU— that's what it's called, that's what this is called, the Army Green Service Uniform— they wanted us to kind of, uh, look like World War II, I guess, again, you know, because it was kind of like America's uniform. Somebody asked if I like dogs, pit bulls. Yes, I do. I actually got a, I got a dog that's, uh, got some pit bull in him, but that pit bulls are actually my favorite dogs. I love them. So I would probably have like 5 of them if I wasn't such a busy person. I'm a dog person, so definitely. But yeah, y'all, you know, get out there, learn something new, you know what I mean? Like learn to play an instrument or something. There's so much like AI out there, you know, we, we kind of lose our creative abilities sometimes, you know. Like I'm not against AI, you know, like I'm Sometimes you can use AI in a productive way, but, you know, don't let that take from your skills, you know what I'm saying? Get out there and learn something. Learn to play an instrument. Learn to— learn to fix something, you know? I don't know. Um, you know, live a satisfied life, guys, you know? Um, that's pretty much what I wanted to talk about today. So, but again, yeah, if you're interested in being a guest on my podcast, I would love for y'all to come on. Reach out to me, you know, if you have something that you feel like the world needs to hear and benefit from. Look, y'all can, y'all can hit me up. We'll talk about it, see if it's a good fit. You guys know what I like to talk about. I talk about stuff, you know, that could come across controversial, you know, but I try to keep it respectful both sides. You know, I want to hear other people's sides of the story. I And all I ask is that they hear my side of the story too. So, uh, watch your short. Cool deal. Yes, if you can put it in the link, put it in the link, we'll check it out. And, uh, hey, who knows, maybe I'll get you on the show. That'd be great. Um, kind of putting a lot of time and energy into this, uh, YouTube channel, doing a lot of podcasting and stuff. So, um, kind of learning, learning how that stuff goes. So, but yeah, we, you know, we talk about a lot of stuff that's, uh you know, you know, stuff people wanted or need to hear, you know, even if it's something they don't want to hear, you know. Like, that to me, that's how you grow, you know. You grow as a person by, uh, you know, learning stuff and getting out of your own head, you know what I mean. So, um, you can learn something from everybody each and every day, and we should be trying to do that each and every day, learn something from somebody. So, and Anyway, I think at this point I'm probably just rambling. So y'all, I will have some more, uh, podcast information coming out soon. I'll post to the links and stuff, you know, to give you guys plenty of notice. And I'm trying to book more, you know, so, you know, right now I'm kind of just booking them as I get them, as I get people that are interested. Um, I do got a county sheriff that's going to be coming on here pretty soon, so looking forward to getting him on. But y'all, Peace out. Have a great day. Have a great week. It's Monday. Make something happen. Later.
