Two speakers outline a three-part framework for getting what you want: define clear outcomes, check if each action makes them more likely, and bring in supportive people like coaches or mentors. They reference Oliver Wendell Holmes on reaching simplicity through complexity, arguing that you already have the wisdom inside you.

Am I making my life simpler by doing this? Is my outcome and goals that I want, which I want to challenge people to get really clean on those things, the outcome, is it probable? And the leverage part is, who am I bringing into my life to help me achieve that? Therapist, coach, mentor, team of advisors, your Avengers, if you will, right? I didn't have to say crap. Like, the one thing that I want people to hear is you already have so much wisdom in you when you get out of your own way. The answer is there. So this idea of simplicity on the far side of complexity, which is, if you go look up Oliver Wendell Holmes, the quote on simplicity, but it's a very long thing. But in other words, that's what I'm truly trying to drive home, is always live on simplicity on the far side of complexity and figure out how you're making your life way more complex than it needs to be.
No, but what I was just trying to write down as you were finishing that up is the simplicity on the other side of complexity. And I, I love the visual of that other side of complexity. We can get there. Like we're all gonna bump into complexity, whether we create it ourselves or someone else creates it for us. It's gonna happen. But the simplicity is on the other side. Simplicity, focus on our core values, narrow down what we're doing, get really clear about that. Probability, that's more of just kind of an assessment of is what I'm saying, is what I'm doing, or the decisions I'm making Are they making the goals I want to achieve more probable? If they are, yes. If they're not, hell no. We need to make better decisions. And then I like that leverage concept. Who else am I bringing into my life? Who or what else am I bringing into my life to make these outcomes more probable and to assist with the simplicity?
