How we doing out there?
Hello!
Thanks for coming out tonight supporting live music. My name is Tim Snyder, stoked to be here opening the show for Sassung. You guys ready for Sassung? This song's called Hurricane.
You feel it crashing down, it's tearing up these trees. The years spent growing roots and the fruits, we'll never see it. So hard to see things change as the dog barks to the ground, as his memories turn to smoke. I can hardly hear the sounds, but I'm standing. Yes, I'm standing. Oh, I'm standing high overlooking Gotta be strong, you got to stay true. Just let yourself go, let yourself go to virtue.
Thank you.
Alright, how we feeling? It's kind of a folky tune. This is a song about— was about a dream that I had. Dreams are weird, so it's kind of weird. But mostly it's a song about being barefoot, and, uh, I just like to encourage y'all to take off your shoes, physically or metaphorically. I get that we're in a bar right now and the floor is a little sticky, so there's that. But what I mean by that is to take off your shoes, let go of your burdens, let go of that shit, and be present here right now. Can we do that? All right.
A fire in his eyes like the shaman Moses in front of the burning bush. No shoes on his feet, no possessions to pull or to push. Pull or to push. Just a traveling man, singing a song. He spoke in a whisper, though his words were strong. Now he said, learn to be patient, we must learn to be kind. Take off your shoes, leave your troubles behind. Be here now, feel Feel the heat on your face, 'cause we'll wash clean in these flames though we be falling from grace.
We're falling from grace.
Issa la, we must learn to be patient.
Is it not?
We must learn to be patient. We must learn, we must learn to be kind. So I took out, took out my shoes. Let my troubles, let my troubles behind. Let my troubles, let my troubles behind. Hey, thank you so much. That's fucking awesome. This one's called By Your Side.
It's a love song I wrote for my wife.
What could I do to tell you I love you? Believe it's more than a lie. What could I do that's new to prove my love to you and let you know? I'll be by your side, I'll be by your side. I'll be by your side, I'll be by your side. Do you remember we used to talk all night? Nothing ever felt so right. Still, I've never met anyone like you. So be loved. I'll be by your side, I'll be by your side. I'll be by your side, I'll be by your side. By your side, I'll be by your side, I'll be by your side. Come on, darling. I'll be by your side, I'll be by your side, I'll be by your side, I'll be by your side. And I could go on for days and tell other stories, none of the ways you won my heart. We were never apart, you made me whole from the start.
You want to do it?
Cool.
So I'm going to bring up my dear friend Mr. Miguel, him and his crews on the drums here, and jam a little bit on this. And, uh, the song is called Let Go Jump in the River. It's a title track for the first album I ever did.
And, um, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
In my mind, I'm like, there's so many things I can tell you about this song and the album. And then, and then there's another part of me that's like, they don't care. I mean, maybe you do, maybe you don't. But I have a tendency to overtalk, and I'm working on it. They say the first step is just admitting your problem. Anyway, it's called Let Go, Jump in the River.
Life's not about destination.
Destination.
Don't you know?
Don't you know?
Live like this.
Live like this.
For a while.
For a while.
Keepin' faith. Though what's different on the surface, we still live, we still live for the same purposes and emotions since the rest. We're still here searching for understanding in this life.
Thank you so much. I'm gonna give him a break.
He's got a you know, he's got a, he's got a big night ahead of him.
Give it up for Miguel, y'all!
Alright.
I got a couple more songs for you guys. Thank you so much for coming out tonight supporting live music, and thanks for listening. It's my first time playing, playing my own tunes here in Melbourne, Florida. So it's fun. This song's called Humanity. I co-wrote this song with a dear friend of mine that I was in a band with for years. His name's Justin Chittums. We wrote the song around the time of Standing Rock and a lot of the fuckery that was going on then and still going on. But mostly, this song's just about facing fear and not being afraid. To be who you are, not being afraid to say what's in your heart, what's in your head, and being true to that. And, you know, for me, it goes deep. I've known since I was a little, little kid that all I've ever wanted to do was music. And then my first time on stage, I was 5, and I had this crippling stage fright. I cried and I ran off, and I was like, I'm never doing this again. And decades later, here we fucking are. But I'm so grateful and I'm so thankful for music and having a passion in my life. We were talking about passion earlier today, and, um, it's just important to stay true to that. And, um, you learn so much through the process of things, and, um, you know, stick with it, stick with it, whatever it is. It's worth the journey, not the destination, you know.
Two naughty and so on, and I wonder if she even hears me. If she did, I'd tell her how much I love her, how I believe that we can make a change if we only listen to our father and mother. Lately things have gotten out of control. Was about a regiment. We're fighting for our souls. No one can Sit this out, it's gonna take us all, and it's gonna take its toll. Wish we could, but there's no going back now. So much is under attack now. Mother's been trying to warn us, but now can we just ignore this? Can we just ignore this? Every battle has its consequence.
Every warrior pays its price.
And we'll see where the battle is, where humanity lies. But now I weep and I cry. I may only terrified. So much is at stake. How much can we take? But I can only be brave if at first I'm afraid. So I stand and show up. Screaming enough is enough. Life is enough. Another, just like that. We're learning how to love one another, how to love one another.
Got to get you warmed up for a sasong.
Let's go. We're learning how to love one another, how to love one another. Little louder, like you mean it. We're learning how to love one another, how to love one another. Sound good.
Hallelujah! Thank you so much.
I got one more for you.
We can get Miguel back up here if he's down. It's one of the baddest drummers I know on the planet. It's weird, I only know like 3 drummers, but he only knows one violin player, so we're good.
I'm just kidding.
This man's a beast. It's always so fun to play with him. We're gonna do a song here called Down the Rabbit Hole.
Thank you guys so much for listening. We got him in his shoes on the drums. My name is Tim Snyder.
I got some merch and an email list and all that stuff right out front. Come talk to me. I'm gonna get off the stage, get ready for satsang. Y'all ready for satsang? But I would love it if you want to come up and talk and say hey. I'll be out there in a minute.
Much love.
Thanks for coming out and supporting live music.
Let's love.
Thank you so much.
