Foreign. Hey, what's going on, everybody? Dr. Jeff Langmaid with the evidence based Chiropractor. And we are here in Berlin for EPIC 2019. This is the event I've been waiting for all year. It's a combination event, World Federation of Chiropractic in European chiropractor union. There are hundreds of docs inside. I can't wait. The program is really sweet and it's about sports, it's about best practices and evidence based care, and it's about research and where things are going in our profession. This is the welcome reception in the kickoff. Come on in and check out Epic 2019 in Berlin. SAM SA hey, everybody, how's it going? Dr. Jeff Langmid here in Berlin at Epic 2019. And we are halfway through the first day. I wanted to hop on and talk about my key takeaways from that first half day. And it is all about a patient centric model of care. The decisions that we make, the attitudes that we have, and ultimately where we go with the profession is going to be intimately intertwined with how much of a patient centric approach we take day in and day out in practice. This has been an awesome event so far. Berlin's been a great city to be in. And if you have not visited an EPIC event in the past or a WFC event, I'd encourage you to do so in the future. We're just getting started. I'll be back with some updates at the end of today for what I can't imagine will be anything but a great day in chiropractic. Sam, how's everybody doing? So who here is proud to be a chiropractor?
That's good.
All right. Good, good, good. I feel the same way. My big question to you would be, where does our integration stand today? Now, it's certainly better than it has been perhaps ever in our history. When we look at the researchers and the publications that they're putting out, it's defining the evolving role of chiropractic and where we are going that is exceptionally important. And it also gives us the basis and opportunity to bridge the gap like we never have before. I speak about this often when I say, you know, 25 and 30 years ago, it was difficult to find research relevant to chiropractic. But in today's day and age, we are so, so fortunate for all of the researchers that are here and all of the researchers that are around the globe that are consistently producing high quality publications that showcase the benefits of what we can do in our practices. And we need to Be the generation that takes advantage of that. So the opportunities we have in front of us have never been greater. But the challenge to everybody in this room is we must seize them. The research that you see around the top is wonderful. But making it actionable, making it applicable and helping other people understand its importance is the onus of every single person in this room, researcher, clinician or otherwise. Hi, I'm Dr. Jeff Langmaid here with Dr. Richard Brown, Secretary General for the World Federation of Chiropractic. We are in Berlin for EPIC 2019 which has been a fantastic, fantastic conference. And I wanted to get Richard's take on what is EPIC 2019 mean to you and what are a few take home messages that you've seen so far?
Well, EPIC is really all about articulating the principles which are what the WFC stands for. This is a great joint conference where we're in partnership with the European Chiropractors Union. But being EPIC and be EPIC really is the theme of what the WFC strategic plan is. It's evidence based, people centered, interprofessional and collaborative. And the message is the movement is starting. We're getting people to recognize the value of being EPIC and the EPIC principles. And that's just so exciting for us. We know where the profession needs to go, we know what we need to get chiropractors in the mindset of everyone, whether it's other professionals, whether it's patients, whether it's with each other. And we just have a great opportunity that we've started.
One of the things that's been most impressive to me is there's delegates and representatives from many countries representing chiropractic around the world. And for those docs who were not able to make it this year, when is the next congress and where can they look forward to attending?
Well, as you say, we are an international Congress. We have 52 countries represented here with our 900 delegates. So we are really excited about our next WFC congress that is going to be in Tokyo in Japan. So we're shifting continents. We're heading to Tokyo in Japan. That is going to be May 12th to the 15th, 2021. We just can't wait for it to start.
I absolutely love it. If you are here at EPIC 2019 in Berlin, I'm sure you have your dates marked already for Tokyo. If you didn't have the opportunity to make it, you want to put this on your calendar. It's an event like none other. And I want to thank Dr. Brown and all of the WFC for putting this together with the ECU. Thank you.
Thank you very much indeed.
