Jeff Langmaid, in a YouTube video titled "Chiropractic for Dogs: A Path to Healthier Lives!" (uploaded by Jeff Langmaid), argues for proactive chiropractic care for dogs with biomechanical challenges. He suggests routine adjustments can prevent or slow joint destruction caused by poor biomechanics, improving longevity and overall health rather than only providing emergency care.

There's a time and a place for emergency care but being more proactive with things and I think to, you know, specifically to dogs that have known biomechanical challenges in a human being, we wouldn't think anything of it to be like, well, gosh, of course you need a tune up every now and again. Of course it'd be a good idea if you're biomechanically perfect. It's a good idea because you go through traumas, you experience things in life, etc. But if you're biomechanically challenged, let's say it's completely obvious but you can see a dog limp around for years and years and years and years and years and just destroy a joint due to poor biomechanics. And many people have never even thought or considered the fact that a chiropractic adjustment or a series of adjustments along the way in many cases can probably avert that path or at least influence that path towards greater longevity, better health and just a healthier animal overall.
