Dr. Jeff Langmaid (Evidence Based Chiropractor) presents a short YouTube monologue describing how nerve pinching at the foraminal canals (foraminal stenosis/radiculopathy) can occur from disc problems, bone spurs, or ligament overgrowth. He claims chiropractic adjustments can open the foraminal canals, relieve pressure on the nerve, reduce pain, and improve function, and invites viewers to contact a local chiropractor for treatment.

Hi, I'm Dr. Jeff Langmaid, founder of the Evidence Based Chiropractor. If you have had pain going down your arm or leg due to a pinched nerve, chiropractic may be one of the best things you can do to get well quickly. This is your spine and the disc sits right between the bones. Right here is where the nerve can often get pinched, and when it's pinched, it hurts. Sometimes that pinching can happen due to a bone spur due to the disc or a ligament constricting and compressing on that nerve. One of the best things that the chiropractic adjustment does is open up those holes and take the pressure off of the nerve. When those holes, which are called the foraminal canals, are opened up, that takes the pressure off of the nerve, allows the pain to subside and the function to increase. So if you have been suffering from a pinched nerve due to a disc bone spur or ligament overgrowth, do not hesitate to reach out to your local chiropractor to see if chiropractic care may be the best solution to get you on track and feeling great as quickly as possible.
