Jeff Langmaid describes a measurement device that quantifies neck movement in chiropractic care. The device tracks range of motion and captures accessory movements like coupled lateral flexion and extension that couldn't be measured before, used at initial evaluation and two- and four-week follow-ups.
So I use it in my initial evaluation, of course, and I do a follow up as well. Typically at about a two week and a four week interval. I actually started using neck care. In particular the range of motion, which seems kind of basic, but the range of motion probably is one of my favorite things because you get such a beautiful graphic, but it also gives you accessory movement. So, for example, you can see that when a patient turns their head to the left, they also have 6 degrees of right lateral flexion and 3 degrees of extension. I've never been able to see that before and we've never been able to quantify it.
