In this instructional video, Dr. Jeff Langmaid of the Evidence Based Chiropractor outlines five practical tactics that anyone can start using immediately to reach their first 1,000 Instagram followers. He begins by emphasizing Instagram’s massive user base and its importance for personal branding across any demographic or profession. The five steps are: (1) post consistently – regular content, whether daily or a few times a week, builds brand visibility; (2) tag people and places – tagging businesses, locations, and collaborators improves discoverability and encourages shares; (3) collaborate with influencers – partner with micro‑influencers (5k‑25k followers) through joint posts or stories to cross‑expose audiences; (4) engage with other users’ content – daily interaction (commenting on 5‑10 relevant posts via hashtags) raises personal recognition and drives traffic back to your profile; and (5) use hashtags strategically – include up to 30 relevant hashtags in the first comment to increase reach. Langmaid stresses that these steps, when applied consistently over about 30 days, have helped him and many others quickly surpass the 1,000‑follower milestone.

Hi, My name is Dr. Jeff Langmaid with the Evidence Based Chiropractor. And today we are gonna break down five things you can do starting today, starting right now, to get your first thousand followers on Instagram. We all know to be an influencer you need to be on Instagram, there's over a billion active users. So regardless of who you are, what demographic you're going after, or your specific career or profession, Instagram is a place where you should be to build and connect and ultimate your brand. And there are five things that you can start implementing right now to get on your journey to that first thousand followers. First is to post consistently. Consistency wins the game. Whether you are posting once or twice per day, or maybe you only have the time twice per week, staying consistent with your post is a great way to start expanding your brand and expanding your message on Instagram. Second is to tag people and places. If you're going to a healthy restaurant, tag that restaurant. If you're hanging out with a colleague, with a collaborator, be sure to tag that person. It does a couple different things. Number one is that people in your general vicinity, if you tag a specific business or place, people are gonna be able to search that out and see who's around me, who's near me, who has been to this restaurant, to this place, to this gym. So tagging the places is absolutely crucial. And of course, tagging people goes the same way. When you tag other people, when you tag other businesses, it not only helps people find you through search, but it is much, much more likely that those businesses, those people are gonna share that content across their platform, amplifying your message and getting more new eyes on your channel, your content, your profile. So be sure to tag people and tag places. Number three is do collaborations with influencers. Search out the people in your community, the people that you can get access to, and search out collaborations with them. Perhaps it's a post that both of you appear in, maybe it's a story, maybe it's just sharing content back and forth. And you don't necessarily have to go after a Kardashian or Jay Z or people with millions of followers. You can find micro influencers in your community with maybe 5,000, 10,000, 25,000 followers that will be happy, happy to do collaborations with you who are also trying to grow their audience and grow their profile. So find collaborators, do collaborative stories and post to help expand your message. Number four, engage with other people's content, right? The more engaged you are on the platform, the more likely it is that people are going to notice you, recognize you, and follow your profile. So engage with other people's content. That might be five hashtags that are relevant to your industry that you are searching at the beginning of of each day, finding five to 10 posts, going in, commenting, adding value. Once you do that for 30 days, I can guarantee you, just as on Facebook, you start posting in a group over 30 days consistently, you are going to be somebody that everybody recognizes by name. And that is going to result in people coming back to your profile, following you and engaging with your content. So take five to 10 minutes at the beginning or end of each day, so search a few hashtags that are relevant to your business, your industry, your circle of influence, comment and engage on that content and watch people come back to you. And diving into number five is hashtags. Hashtags are not dead. They are a great way to search out relevant content that you can contribute on and also for other people to find the content that you are putting out. So one best practice that I've seen lately is to, in your first comment, make your post, then comment on your post as yourself and run through up to 30 individual hashtags. You don't need to do 30 every single time, but if you choose appropriate hashtags, it helps amplify your message. People will see your content and again, more people will follow you. Those five steps will help you get as quickly as possible to 1,000 Instagram followers. It's how I've done it. It's how thousands of other people have done it. With when you get started on Instagram, it can seem daunting to get the first 50 or first 100. But if you follow these five steps, post consistently, tag people and places, do collaborations with other influencers, engage with other people's content, and use hashtags, you will be well on your way and you will be smashing a thousand Instagram followers before you know it. Sam.
