AI in charting, Jane is actually getting everything ready so that you can have conversations with your patients and not have to touch your computer. And Jane is going to just turn that into a chart note that you can just review and sign.
All right. Hey everybody. As promised, I'm here with Amy from Jane. She is a manual therapy advocate. We're going to talk all things Jane. So whether you are a doc who is maybe has never heard of Jane ehr, maybe you're somebody who's done a demo, you're frustrated with what you're currently using, I got a feeling our interview today is going to help you make a decision that improves the efficiency of your practice. Amy, thanks for coming on and chatting today.
Thank you so much for having me. I'm very excited. I'm always excited to talk about Jane. Very excited to talk about Jane to your community.
Thank you for being here. I want to hop right in. We have a lot to get to Jane has been doing. There's been a lot of action. And so some of this revolves around, I like to say, features and benefits because the features always lead to the benefit for the provider. So if you had to take a look at some of the top features that you have seen Ben released over the past year or so, what comes to mind for you on docs out there that might be casually paying attention, but that really need to pay attention because this can help their practice. What are some of the most top.
Features we're working on what we're kind of calling like our big eight. But I mean, on top of that, there's a whole bunch more that we are working on. Some things that have been released over this past year that I think would be wildly helpful for your community is we have a relationship with ClaimMD as a clearinghouse aspect. We've had that for a while. But one of the key pieces that ClaimMD offered was the ability to do eligibility checks. And we pulled that into Jane's. So now you're actually able to do eligibility checks with within Jane directly from the patient profile within their insurance policy, which is really nice. And you're able to grab information right down to a specific code or just what are they covered for within your discipline, put in their maximums and all of that wonderful stuff. So now you don't have to go somewhere else to get that key information, which is really exciting. So that is probably what I was. I was also on that copilot team getting that launched. So I may be a little biased on that one. But I'm very excited that we have it for sure. The other cool thing about that is that it opens up a world of like our integration with Claim MD also opens up another world of different reports that Jane doesn't currently have that are very insurance specific. So if you're utilizing claim MD and your claims are flowing through claimMD, you're going to have access to a lot of really amazing insurance reports that will complement the reporting that you have in Jane as well.
I love to hear that because I know efficiency is such a key aspect. When I think of back of house chiropractic, meaning, you know, somebody's coming in, they want to use their insurance benefits. Probably over 50, 60, 70% of chiropractors take insurance benefits to some degree. And that's just such a pain point when you don't know the eligibility, as you said. And being able to gather that data within the EHR as somebody is whether they're coming in, checking out whatever your clinic workflow is, is, is very, very impactful. Because the bottom line is you're not helping anybody if you can't stay in business. So getting paid is part of that in understanding, you know, the benefits that these individuals have. Critically important for them one, as a patient centric point of view, because people come in hoping to use it if you do take insurance. But two, you know, that shouldn't be a hassle for you. So being able to take care of that within the EHR and as you mentioned on the back end, then understanding the reporting through that advanced integration and really, really impactful because you also need to make sure it's profitable on the back end. So it's not only knowing the information, but it's being able to put it into action. So that's an awesome feature that definitely leads to some direct benefits from what I'm hearing.
Yeah, it's, it's pretty fantastic because they have the ability to provide you their information through our intake process. So this is even before you see them, which means you can have critical conversations about their coverage before they even come in, which I think is, is going to be really key. You know, being able to pull that, that eligibility, their first appointment means you're going to be able to have meaningful conversations with them, which I think is fantastic.
I love that. What? Yes. What else has been released that's got you excited?
Great. Well, you know, for, for those of you, because you'd mentioned at the beginning there might be some people who have like done demos in the past. One of the things, because I, as you mentioned, so many chiropractors do take insurance but some of them don't. And for our a lot of our cash based chiropractors we were finding that they want to be able to provide super bills and used to be in Jane that you used to have to have the insurance feature even if you weren't using it in order to access those codes and be able to provide super bills. That is no longer the case. So for those people who have maybe peaked at us before, come peek at us again because we definitely have included some, some of those features that are going to be important for you as a US based cash based practice which I think will be, will be really terrific.
Yeah, that's a great one that speaks to me personally owning a practice that is out of network. We're cash based and being at this liter came up in a team meeting earlier this week because we had somebody coming in using FSA HSA benefits and we wanted to provide that because they were interested in, in reimbursement through there any. That's a, that's a story for another day. But this is something that to exact your point, we don't take any insurance. We don't utilize any of that. However, there was a time and a place where generating that super bill was important for a patient. So being able to provide that while also being able to keep our application lean and mean so to speak is really, really impactful and it's something that I dealt with quite literally this week. So that's a great.
That is fantastic. Well I'm glad because it just opens up those possibilities because Jane has three different plans and instead of now having to go with with the highest tier, if it has features you don't need, you're now able to go with the plan that fits you because it's going to have that piece where you're going to be able to provide super bills and that type of thing which is, which is really key for those cash based pract which is awesome. A couple of other key things because we talked about getting paid being so super super important. Jane has made some just some basic functional changes to how our report works. For your outstanding balances, the things your AR or accounts receivable report and one of the other key things that we did is we actually added the ability to add a pay balance button. So if you're utilizing Jane payments and taking those payments through Jane it used to be that you would send a statement off and they'd be great, now I know what I owe. And then you'd have to go ahead and send a Pay balance email as a separate email. And one of the key things we did because we know that the timeline around getting paid, we want to make sure it's easy not just for, for you, but for your patients too. Now you send that statement already has a pay button balance on it, so they can go ahead and click it. They know what they, they know exactly what they owe and why. They click that button and away they go and they're going to pay that balance for you securely. Where also is and this is a bit of a sneak peek, but we are actually working on a that is currently going to be rolling out into beta that is going to send those emails automatically. So once you have processed your, your primary and if if necessary your secondary and if there is a patient pays balance remaining the following day, that email is going to go out automatically. You don't have to click any buttons, you don't have to send anything out. And that's going to automate one of the most frustrating things which is finding who owes you and sending out emails.
So getting paid, absolutely, of course critical from a business perspective, but money has velocity is something that we touch on, you know, a lot. So that delayed insurance companies know this more than anybody because they hold the money as long as possible. They understand that. But as providers, it's important for us to understand that as well. Which is, you know, we think about in terms of marketing, we say speed to lead. Right. How quickly can you connect with that individual who's expressing interest? But the same thing takes place on the back end. The faster that you can get paid. That's operational cash flow for your business. And you know, we did not chat prior to this interview, but I literally used this feature also last week we had somebody who owed us a balance and I, I went in thinking I was going to send a letter. Yes, it sounds like I'm 400 years old that I was going to send a letter. And I noticed in the account chart that I could click for text or email and be able to send that message with the button embedded. Long story short, we just did get paid. Sounds like a setup. It is not. We did get paid very based upon that message being sent and it was way easier automating. That's going to take it to a whole new level. But this is really critical business operations for docs listening. If you don't currently have the opportunity and availability to do this with ease and next step in an automated fashion, you are losing money. Whether it's just on the delay alone or whether it's on money that just goes totally uncollected because it's a pain in the butt for the patient to actually make the payment. That mechanical aspect of it really matters. So enabling it to be easy. And the beautiful part is when they click on that button and pay within Jane, all of that data of course automatically flows into all of your reporting tools as well and kind of self rectifies which is great. So I know we want to get to stuff so I won't go too long on that. But what else you got going on over there?
That's awesome. Well I was thinking one of the other things and this actually isn't necessarily a feature of Jane itself, but kind of a brand new offering that, that Jane. So we have always offered when, when you sign up with Jane, we have always offered something called the account setup consultation. Very wordy, but basically what that means is somebody in support is going to have a one on one call with you for about 45 minutes to an hour and they're going to help you get started. So your key things, your basics. So make sure we get your, your schedule going and where you set up your intake forms and all of that wonderful stuff. And while we have received fantastic feedback on providing that service, there have been some people who have been like can you just do it for me? Any chance you could just get me like started? And the answer now is yes. Yes we can. So Jane has actually introduced a dedicated onboarding Service. It costs $499 plus tax, whatever your state tax will be. And with that basically you're getting a dedicated support person. They are an account setup specialist. They, that person will work with you and actually create forms for you, actually help you create your shifts. So instead of out just some guidance which if you're a do it yourselfer we still have, that doesn't cost you anything. But if you're the type of person or you have a very busy high volume practice and you're like if I'm going to make this change, I need it to be as quick and painless as possible. Let us help you with that. So that's a new thing that came in kind of late last year that I was pretty excited to share with you and your listeners as well.
But yeah, that, that's awesome for, for exactly as you said. The docs that are, they're super busy, maybe non technical or you know, you just want to utilize the capital that you have to buy back time. This is a great opportunity for you to do so and it takes a lot of that pain away. Like people just have pain associated with changing hrs. Let's call it what it is. So being able to have different levels of service to exactly what you said, depending upon where you're at in your career, where you're at year to date, financially, whatever the cases might be, that's really impactful to the business owner because it eliminates a lot of that pain. It's like, hey, we can step in and take care of a lot of this for you if you'd like us to do it. Or to your point, we can consult with you and help you along in the process. That is fantastic. Now you mentioned that that came online at the end of last year. Probably there are some current gen customers say, golly, I didn't know that. I know that development is, you know, from a developer perspective, they're like, man, development sometimes can feel like it takes a while. However, when features come out, they often come out in batches and that can lead to docs maybe utilizing Jane right now that might have missed one or two things along the way. So I'd love for you to highlight what's maybe one or two features within Jane where you're like, this is awesome. And I don't think enough people know about it or are utilizing it in our ecosystem.
Oh, that's. That's an excellent question. This was also like, when just I'm trying, I'm thinking through. As soon as you said the question, I had like 15 things pop into my head and I'm like, well, that's a bit much. So let me start probably with, with one of the ones I genuinely think is, is probably underutilized and that is our wait list. So our wait list actually won an award, which I think is very cool. And it's one of those features that is really awesome because depending on how much control, because we definitely have some, some practitioners out there who like, I want all the control over my schedule. I don't want anything being automated from that standpoint because I want to be in control of who gets booked and when. To the people who are like, oh, can I just set this and forget it. Like, I just, I do not want to think about this. And the nice thing about our Waitlist feature is that it serves both of those groups. So it has the ability to be entirely administrative, which means someone can, you can give them the opportunity to add themselves to the wait list or you can do it administratively. And then when someone cancels or if an appointment changes, you are in full control over. Over whether or not you want to release that spot for someone else to book or whether you want to reach out to the people who are on your wait list and get them booked in so you have full control, can be entirely administrative. Now the beauty of it is for those who love like automations, automations and saving time, you can also set that up so they will get both a text and an email. They might choose to just get one or the other. They're able to set up how they want to get notified. But if a spot, so let's say four weeks from now, somebody is booked in and they go online and they cancel that spot and there are four people on the wait list. Everyone is going to get an email or a text or both that is going to let them know that that spot has opened up and then they will have the ability to be able to log on in a first come, first serve basis and take that spot and then before it gets released to just anybody. So if none of the people on your waitlist are able to take it, don't worry, it's going to be released to the general public and we'll get that spot again filled for you.
Yeah, that's, that's super cool. I know. You know, it's just the nature of a service based business. We're always kind of battling the schedule, so to speak, you know, day in and day out, week in and week out with exactly what you said. People reschedule, life happens, different things, you know, and being able to accommodate individuals in a seamless fashion, regardless of whether you want it totally automated, as you mentioned, whether you want complete control somewhere in between. Being able to have that seamless and streamlined from a patient perspective just helps you and helps them, which is the most important thing. If they can't get in to see you, you're not collecting the revenue from a business perspective, they're not getting the care that they need from a human perspective. So anything you can do to, in my opinion as a provider, anything you can do to make the scheduling experience more streamlined for your patients is massively, massively impactful. Now what is one feature, I'm not asking you to show all the cards here, but something on the roadmap that you know, might be in development, coming out soon, maybe even it just came out. What's something that you're really looking forward to and you can say as much or as little as you want.
I love that. I'm actually extremely excited because probably one of our number one feature requests that we have had has been the ability to be able to Talk to your patients in a secure manner. So I'm talking two way messaging. It is 100%. We are actually at the point where that is in beta. So if we do have people listening that are using Jane and you're excited about the idea of maybe getting in on that beta, please do reach out to the support team. We are actually working on that. The ability to be able to have one on one conversations. Eventually we're looking at a future iteration of that actually being the ability to email everybody at once, which is something we haven't been able to do. There will be text messaging capabilities and the much coveted ability to be able to share files from not just you to the patient, but the patient back to you. So super excited for, for this feature. It's been, it's been one of those things that we've been kind of promising and promising and as we have been working through it, you know, it's always like, well, we need to solve for this problem and we need to solve for this problem. But we're there. And I am super, super stoked about that because there were two, two that I really would love to talk about. And the other one is AI in charting. Jane is absolutely. And this is also in a beta as well. Right now Jane is actually working on the ability for AI charting. We're creating templates, we're getting everything ready so that you can actually have conversations with your patients and not have to touch your computer. You know, you open up the chart note and you walk away and you have a wonderful conversation about what's going on, what you're doing. And Jane is going to just turn that into a chart note that you can just review and sign. And that is super exciting because charting speed is a massive deal, especially for our high volume chiropractors. So I'm super excited to share that one as well.
We're gonna have to have a follow up conversation because I think doing a deep dive into that as that continues to get released will, will be awesome. Amy, thank you so much for coming on and chatting. Docs, listening, watching. If you have not connected with the Jane team to have a conversation to understand better how Jane can help streamline your practice, please do so. We're going to drop links. Regardless of where you're watching this, you'll be able to drop. We'll drop links down below, connect with their team, ask the questions. There is absolutely only benefit for you by understanding more about how you can improve the flow of your practice. Benefits for you from an operational standpoint, benefits for your patients from a patient experience standpoint and everything in between. So Amy, thanks for coming on and checking.
Thank you so very much. I'm so glad I was able to be here and share some really cool things with you. And like you said, please do reach out to us. My team of support people is amazing, amazing, amazing. And they want to talk to you and they want to answer your questions.
