Hello, I'm Dr. Jeff Langmaid with Research that Matters TV pinched nerves are not exactly what most people would call a good time. A pinched nerve or compressed nerve can cause pain, numbness, tingling or weakness in your arm or leg. It can be debilitating. When nerves are leaving your spinal column, they don't have much protection. And if a disc, bone or ligament get near the nerve. Ouch. The pain can start there and travel down the length of that nerve root, resulting in pain that radiates to your arms and legs. Let's just say that your nerves do not like being pushed around. The good news is that you can experience a lot of relief by taking the pressure off the nerve. Research has shown that chiropractic adjustments can help reduce the pinching or compression on these delicate nerve roots. And with less pressure on the nerve, you can finally find relief. Take a look around. You see some people that are bent over side to side, walking crooked. Sometimes this is a result of a pinched nerve. They're trying to lean away from the pain and open up those nerve channels. But by staying active, maintaining a full range of motion, and getting periodic chiropractic to care, you can count on standing tall for years to come. I'll see you next week for another episode of Research that Matters. TV.
