How to Optimize Your Facebook Business Page for Chiropractic Success

Jeff Langmaid reviews five chiropractic Facebook pages and identifies what works: good about sections, services listed, and reviews. The biggest gaps: weak cover images, no native videos, missing calls to action, and posting that stops for weeks at a time. Better headers with your face and location, plus consistent content, make the difference.

Hey everybody, what is going on? It is Jeff Langmaid with the evidence based chiropractor and the smart chiropractor here. And if you are tuning in right now, you're about to see some Facebook page breakdowns. This is kind of a popular series that I started about a month ago where I'll take a look at your Facebook page. If you'd like me to comment down below with your page. If you'd like to be featured on an upcoming episode. I'm going to share screen in a moment here and we'll break down optimization tips and opportunities for improvement within chiropractic Facebook pages. Facebook has a billion and a half active users each and every day. So it is imperative that your Facebook page is sort of on point and that you have all areas of opportunity set up in the way that can get the most people seeing who you are and what you do. So I'm going to share screen right now and we will take a look together. So this is Valley Spine and Sport. Again, these were docs who submitted their pages for me to take a look at. If you would like me to take a look at your page, feel free to drop it down below, but let's take a look. So first things first, great looking header image here. I love it. The only thing that's missing from this header image is I don't see anything about, you know, where's the practice located? Is there a phone number? Right. Big, bold. Love that. It is very iconic. But I think there's a couple optimization things that they could do here in terms of making that just a little bit smaller and maybe putting just a touch more information on it. Also when I look over at the image here that I'm circling, that is, it's cool. And it says, you know, Alex, but I don't see any picture of Alex. I would love one of these two pictures, either the COVID image or sort of the logo images, I'll call it. I'd love one of those to have Alex's face. Dr. Alex, we want to see who you are, have patients kind of make that connection with you. So one area of opportunity I see with him is ultimately to get his face and in theory, I would say also the practice location somewhere on here. Now if we scroll down, a couple good things he's got going on here, our story, he's got that built out, right? That's a great connection point. If people want to know, who is this guy? What, you know, what's this practice all about? Great opportunity to do it there. Just about 500 people liking his page. So that's healthy. It looks like right here we have the about section is filled out. So there's the address filled out, the phone number filled out, the website filled out which is all looking great. He also has the services area filled out which is cool because he's got a picture here, he's got some explanation. So all that stuff looks great. As we scroll down here it looks like we got some videos going on which is a good thing. And as we continue to scroll down, he's got a pinned post here for runner's knee video. Love it. He's also giving some direction for these visitors to kind of check out the YouTube channel, et cetera. Good engagement on this video, you know, 24 like 7 comments. 6, 6 shares which is great. So let's scroll down a little bit farther. So now we see May 14th. So this was April 23rd. We see May 14th. May 14th. So it looks as though now we have gone at least a couple weeks. So consistency is definitely an issue for Alex's page here. He has gone multiple weeks without a post and there definitely are multi week gaps before as well. He's got some really nice videos. Low back pain management simplified. A bunch likes on this. You know, with this video. He's doing video which is awesome. Video looks super clear. Not going to listen to the audio right now but video looks nice. But I would say he could use a little bit more in terms of this. Right? Low back pain management simplified. Give a call to action. As we say at the smart chiropractor, teach and invite. He's teaching Low back management simplified. But where's the invitation? Give us a call today. If you have a question about this comment or share down. You know there's different ways that you could do with a call to action to make that significantly more impactful as we go down. We got a bunch of these coffee chats here. It's pretty cool. But overall he's looking pretty good. So make sure my take. He's got coffee talk and coffee chat so consistency definitely an issue. He has huge missing gaps of weeks at a time. You should not go a day without posting on Facebook at this point in time. So he's got opportunities for consistency. He's got some opportunities to better. I don't know, it's not really titling his video but making sure that the text around the video has a call to action. He's missing an opportunity to invite or have the call to action with the great video that he is shooting. And also Getting his picture somewhere in these two pictures would be a great thing. But his overall structure and build out is pretty darn good. Let's go into the videos real quick before we head on to the next. So again, it looks here with three weeks ago, three weeks ago, five weeks ago. It looks like he's doing pretty good with video. I'd like him to see, to pick up the consistency a little bit on his video because they're getting great engagement. Two dozen likes on a lot of these over that and some, some of the others it's just this do more of what's working. Right. So on a lot of these videos he's got a lot of views, he's got a lot of likes, but he could, he could definitely do more of that and be more consistent. Let's just go into, let's say the runner. Let's go to the SI joint dysfunction one real quick. I just want to see if he has got a call to action. Click video. Okay, so he's got a link mentioned to an Amazon link. That's cool. Okay, so he's got some invitations on some of these. I'd encourage him to keep up those invitations. And additionally like on with this link, it would be really nice if he dropped that in as the first comment as well. That could be a pretty good way to go about it. So overall, great job, Alex. Couple things there that I think you can improve upon. Let's go over to Redlands Spine and Sport. A lot of the same things you're gonna see right here. Right. So this header image is a little bit pixelated to me. So I think you can get a little bit higher quality from your graphic designer on the image right here. And also this is cool to show. It's a nice building in this picture, but it doesn't do much for me. I'd rather see the inside. Where am I going to go? You know, what does the doctor look like? Like, am I making that connection? So there's a lot of opportunity. This is good, but it's far from optimized. You could do a video as the COVID image. There's a lot of things you can do here. And you know, ultimately I think there's, there's area of opportunity, let's put it that way. This with Redland Spine and sport. Definitely get your picture up here. Definitely get a little bit of a higher quality image in the header. A couple hundred likes here. Five out of five on 11 people reviewing. That's great. This a good contrast to what we just had previously saw. He has his services built out, which is cool, but there's no picture and no explanation. So he could build this out a little bit more, get that acupuncture, chiropractic and physical therapy. Get those service offerings built out a little bit more, Mike and I think that would drive more interest in traffic. He's got a weight loss challenge going on here. May 29th. Now here's where we get interesting. I took a look through his page earlier. So on the post you can see this is coming from mailchimp, right? So this is massage therapy services back, good engagement, 9 likes, couple comments, but we start to go down. What do we see? A lot of posts that are being sort of automated from mailchimp and it just doesn't look great. Right? It's, I mean, his logos here, which is nice, but there's absolutely no context being shared. As a post from mailchimp, he's getting great engagement. This is an opportunity to say, let me do a video. Let me do something more specific, more personalized, more native on Facebook. Because if you're sharing a mailchimp link, which is kind of lowest common denominator, you're probably going to see even better engagement and reaction when you start sharing sort of native content. Shoot a quick video to talk about the fact that physical therapy is back. Maybe have the therapist comment on the video. Just opportunities to optimize here. There's just way too many. We have just mailchimp link after mailchimp link after mailchimp link. There's no diversity in the content stream. So clearly consistency, as always with nearly every dog. And he's inconsistent and he's posting from a mailchimp newsletter. So not a bad idea to share that newsletter. But the formatting just isn't exactly on fire, right? The formatting just does. And cut it for me. Great engagement, but that's an opportunity again here he's linking back to his website. Great opportunity to drive traffic. Look at this. He got 11 likes, a couple comments, but the extra step of getting the picture wasn't done. So the picture on this post right here is going to yield better click through and better result. Just those little optimization tips to how to take it over the top. Mike, that's what I'd encourage there. Let's go in. It doesn't look like there's any. I don't know if he has any videos, but there's no video tab. So if you have shot any videos, I'm going to encourage you to make sure that you have a video tab because I wouldn't even know how to find them if I don't see that tab over here. So, you know, areas of opportunity there for sure to sort of clean that up. And now we're already back to October and I'm hardly down at all here. He's pointing. See this? This has engagement. It's got a share, it's got a picture. But this is from nearly six, seven, eight months ago. So clearly opportunity to pick up the consistency there. Looks like he's got a 10 year celebration going on last year, so congrats to that. But areas of opportunity here. Stay consistent. Mix up the links. Don't just share mailchimp. That's, you know, there's better practices than that. You've got a few hundred followers here, so keep up the great work. But update these. Update your posting strategy. Make sure you're staying more consistent. If you need help with that, check out Smart Chiropractor. Otherwise, update this header image for sure. Get your picture up here. Give me a little more context for what's going on in the practice. I think that'll better serve you overall. Keep on trucking. If you have any questions about any of this, feel free to drop them. I'm happy to do my best. Happy to answer any questions or if you'd like your page, if you'd like me to check out your page, happy to do it on a subsequent video. So drop that down below. We got Kyle here. Kyle I've known for a few years. He's got the, he's got the header video rocking. So I love that you can make the connection. You can see who he is. He's got the diploma behind there. So this is cool. I mean, I love the header videos, the COVID image videos, they just are great. He's got great reviews. Five out of five, you know, 37 people. He's got his story here again. We talked about our story. Great opportunity to showcase who you are and what you do. His kind of. Not the COVID image but the logo picture. I think it could be better. Right? This is a little small. I see, you know, in this picture. Yes, there, there's some happy people walking. I'd almost say it should be his face instead of those people just for that connection point. But he's got a nice cover image. He could probably get away without having that. The only challenge is it says Family Wellness. I think it says Michigan up above. But the way this becomes so small, especially when you look at the posts, it's almost impossible to tell what's going on. Is that people walking. He can make that more iconic and bold. There's just a little too much nuance going on with what I'll call his logo on there. So let's scroll on down. So it looks like June, he's got an event planned. He's got that posted. That's cool. May 22, he's updated there about section. Let's keep on scrolling here. Looks like he's a member of some groups. That's great. He's got some video going. Got a whole bunch of events planned here. Great job with that. He's got his services. So you can see right here some of those services built out. You could probably become a little. You could probably write a little bit more. I'm not looking at this in depth, but a little bit more. You're just repeating the language here. Overall complimentary consultation, complementary consultation. Tell me about the benefit of that consultation in that first line. And the pictures could probably be split up a little bit different. Right. The consultation could be you talking with a patient. The picture for the chiropractic adjustment could be the hands on the patient. The new patient examination could be you doing an examination. So you could probably spice up those images a little bit. And as we go down May 22, so it looks like again, Kyle's got a little bit of a challenge with staying consistent. Consistency is what we're all about. Smart chiropractor. So if you're looking to stay more consistent again, visit us atthe smart chiropractor.com. looks like he's doing a good job with videos here. Let's get into this. Great. He's got a call to action. You can see he's got the, you know, call and schedule online. Great. Call to action when he's teaching and inviting. I would say keep it more consistent. I mean, he's missing consistent. These videos look. These videos look good. There's a. Let's see. Call to action in every single video. He's got a good description. These are very, very well done. They look nice overall. Meaning, you know, the quality as I'm looking at this looks super clear. He's. Again, he's got calls to action. Just keep up that consistency. I would say for sure. The only other thing I'm seeing, seeing is some of this looks like it might be shared because it's the performance adjustment and send a message. And then this one looks exactly the same, you know, so, okay, this one switched up and he's got the countdown timer going on. That's cool. Okay, right on. I like A lot of what Kyle's going on. My big thing to you, Kyle, let's dive in here real quick. Let's take a look at how his videos look. Okay. So he's got some playlists built out. Okay, cool. Some of these thumbnails look pretty good. You could probably tighten up the thumbnails a little bit here. These look like the same. So you could, you could put some text over the top of it or make a thumbnail a little bit more specific. And then I would clean up that logo image as well just so it shows better. Specifically when you're doing the posts and it just comes out so, so small right here to keep an eye on that. But overall you're doing a good job. Keep up the call to action and just watch the consistency. Let's keep on trucking. We're over at Delta Chiropractic center of Lansing. Let's take a look. I love a header image that has the whole staff. I think that gives a personal representation. My thing with this image is that you can spice it up a little bit. You could kind of remove the background or make the staff a little bit smaller and you know, you could put a little bit of text on this and really stimulate some action. Put the logo there. You know, there's a couple of different things I think you could do with this that would kind of spice up this cover image. Get some text on there, maybe get the logo, have the website. You could do a few things. Don't make it too busy, but give a little bit more than just the people. So that's what I would suggest with the COVID image there. Regarding this logo. It looks pretty good overall. I mean, ultimately I can clearly say, see that it says Delta Chiropractic Center. If you are going to have your face in the COVID image, you might not need it in the logo. So that's just a decision that you can make and kind of play with those back and forth. But you know, overall this page looks pretty good. I'm gonna Assume this is Dr. Chuck. So we got 1500 people liking the page. 63 people, 4.9 out of 5. That's great. Got a lot of people following the page. You have certainly people engaging. He has the services built out with the explanation and the individual pictures. That looks really, really nice as we scroll down. Looks like he's got some videos here. We'll take a look at that in a moment. Two hours ago, we have massage therapy with a call to action. Cool. That looks good. Looks good. He's already got a Like and a share there. That's cool. Three hours ago he's got a post that went out. Kind of inspirational and aspirational post there. Yesterday he had some posts. So this looks good. He's got some engagement on these posts as we contain. I'm just gonna scroll down really quick. He's staying consistent. He's got the massage therapy is back up and running there. This post looks a little weird. I'm not exactly sure what's going on with this video. So Chuck probably take a look at this video post. You know, nobody's probably gonna click on that. You wanna make sure that the video is kind of natively uploaded there. And he's got a massage therapy again, some likes there. Okay, cool. Here we go. Now we're getting into June 3rd. So just last week it looks like he had a video going on talking about sciatic pain. He's got some call us today calls to action there. It links to a YouTube video. Best practice is to natively upload this to Facebook. Tough to drive traffic from Facebook to YouTube. So my recommendation would be to take the video that you uploaded to YouTube and upload it natively to Facebook. So as I'm scrolling, it starts playing and people are going to learn and they can see the subtitles there. Just that less that you eliminating those conversion steps will get more and more people to kind of see what you're up to, how you're going about it. So just from a best practice perspective, I think you can just do a little bit of improvement on the native uploads there. It looks like he's staying consistent. Same thing here. Right. This looks like it is very likely a testimonial of some type with Patricia and her hopeless back pain. It's a great opportunity to showcase this. So a couple things here I'd say on this post, Chuck, is natively upload this. So upload this video into Facebook. Don't link it to YouTube. You can play with that a little bit, but you're going to get more views natively if you upload direct. Also, you titled it on YouTube, Patricia and her hopeless back pain. But when I look here, it's not titled that way in her Facebook post. So the big bold statement at the top of this should be see how Patricia overcame her hopeless low back pain. And then if you had the video right there built in Facebook and that within the post. Now I'm starting to say, gosh, I'm going to check that out when I'm scrolling down. But you have a great call to Action. Just little optimization things to kind of tighten those things up. Looks like you're staying consistent with your posts overall. So those are what I would say, Chuck. Just things you can take a look at. Really just some small optimization tips there to get going. And last one for today. And if you would like me to check out your page, feel free to comment down below, let me know. I'd be happy to do so. Oh boy. This is, I'm going to say just Dr. Matt's page because that is. That is it. This must be. It's Ocean City, New Jersey. Okay, cool. So. Okay, Kimanosh, hopefully I said that right. Matt, you can, you can correct me down below if I didn't. But let's take a look here. So again, this is a constant thing, right? We're seeing header image issues on nearly every single one of these. Good picture. Overall it is a little, there's like a little bit of hazy effect. So I think the picture can be a little bit more high quality. But this is an opportunity. That cover image, you can do a video as we saw with Dr. Kyle. And you can do a lot more than just this picture in your cover image. So you could, you know, straighten this up, make it look nice and clear, have it head on. Maybe put where you're at in the website or a call today if you're struggling with, you know, there's a lot you can do with that cover image that just isn't really being executed here on the left hand side, he's got a smiling face. He's got himself next to his sign. Looks pretty good overall. He's a little small in this picture because again when we go down and look at where. How that picture pans out as a post. Right, right. It's really small. So I'd almost say he could get a new picture taken. Just a nice clean headshot of like him smiling. Even if it's not like professional suit and tie. Just like you know, a nice casual picture with him front and center would be great. And then clean up that Carver image. So image issues that could be cleaned up pretty easily there. I don't see anything here about video. So if he hasn't shot a video, Matt, you gotta shoot video. Just gotta get into it and kind of get going there. I don't see a tab for it. If you have shot video, make sure you get a tab for it over here. 260something. People like his page, so that's great. 4.8 out of 5. That's pretty darn good. And we can See here, he's got his about section set up pretty well without going over and in. So as we cruise down and in post June 5th, so we got it, we got some lag going on here. In other words, he's not necessarily. Well, we got the fifth, the fifth, the fourth, the fourth. Okay, so he's got a couple posts going out, a day comm campaign, that kind of thing that we kind of put together. June 3rd. Okay, cool. So I like what he's got going on, the posting the one and he's staying consistent as I scroll through. Big thing, Matt, here is areas of optimization and opportunity is to customize this. Hop in with a video, explain who you are, showcase the practice, maybe put the services right. We saw on those other pages that we went through as we get up towards the top that there was a service sort of tab in the middle of the feed that showed the different services that are offered. Even if it's an examination and care, get it out there, let people know who you are and what you do. Services is an area of opportunity. Certainly cover image or video an area of opportunity. And I would say logo image, area of opportunity. So we have a lot of opportunity with updating cover images. Take a look at yours. Let me know if you are going to update your image. How would you go about updating your image? Let me know down in the comments below. What are you missing? What could you put? And if you'd like me to check out your page and give you my thoughts, I'm happy to do so. Drop it down below. But this is Facebook optimization. There's a billion and a half people that are on Facebook each and every day. So you definitely want to make sure that you are putting your best foot forward and that ultimately your page is a great reflection of your practice. There's always areas to optimize no matter how hard you work on it, no matter how long you've been doing it. I love diving into this stuff. It's fun for me. Hopefully this is fun, educational, maybe even a little bit engaging for you. So comment down below. Let me know if you like these videos, if you'd like me to continue and also if you'd like me to take a look at your page. Make it a great day. Stay safe out there. I'll talk to you soon. Bye bye.
