How to Use Email Marketing to Get More Patients

Jeff Langmaid (Evidence Based Chiropractor) explains why email is a critical asset for chiropractic practices and previews an "ultimate email strategy guide" available by commenting "email." He outlines must-have automated campaigns (new-patient onboarding, reactivation/activation sequences, and event sequences), and promises step-by-step guidance on writing subject lines, body copy, CTAs, deliverability, metrics (open rates, CTRs, unsubscribe norms), and recommended tools.

We're gonna go through it all together. You can see it up on the screen right there, I think one way or the other. And if you have been following anything that I've been talking about for the last couple years, you know I am huge on email. It is one of your most valuable assets in your practice is your email list. And automating the content through your email subscriber list is one of the best ways you can build and grow your practice. I've given out templates, I've broken down the campaigns. This guide absolutely does it all. So please type email down below if you want to pick it up. I'm going to go through it with you here together, we're going to chat through it. If you have any questions specifically about email, please drop them as well in the comments. I am happy to work through this in the best manner that gives you results, which is what it is all about. So when we talk about email, email needs to have a direction, right? It is not just about hitting send on individual emails and kind of hoping for the best. That is what my friend Kevin Christie calls a random act of content. And it's not a strategic way about going to get results. Here's the beauty of email is that you can put together campaigns or automations that once somebody goes in, they're guided through a series. You press the button one time or don't press the button at all in some cases and they get a series of messages that leads them. If you've been following Storybrand at all, you can kind of build that into your email automations and sequences. It's all about having the strategy and having the content needed to walk somebody down that path. That's what they're counting on with you as their physician, as their doctor. So the biggest things that you need to be cognizant of is number one, getting your email automation up and running, and number two, identifying the campaigns that can make the most impact in your practice. We outline this in this guide. So again, if you want to pick it up, please type email down below. But those big campaigns, those pillar campaigns that you just have to have in your practice, reactivation campaigns, drip sequences, onboarding campaign for new patients, absolutely critical. And we detail them in this guide. So those campaigns are the bare minimum. They are what you need to have, need to have to really have sustained growth in your practice. There's a ton of docs out there that might have 200, 400, 500, 1,000 or more emails, yet they're not reactivating consistently from their list. Their Facebook audience is like one tenth of what their email list is. These are all opportunities to drive engagement. Your email list can drive engagement. Likes follows and see first on your Facebook page and also on every email there should be the opportunity to for a patient to take the next step. To hit your online scheduler to tap the button and it calls your office and your practice. These are critical components of how successful practices keep the momentum going. It's exactly what we do within chiro emails. That's a part of the Smart Chiropractor. But in this guide, we'll lay out all of these things for you so you know exactly which direction to go. So we're going to talk about the new patient onboarding campaign. When is that triggered? What's the goal of that campaign? How do you go about it? All of that is detailed in this guide. Additionally, the activation campaign. So reactivations new patients. How are you using your email list to best drive appointments in your practice? Absolutely critical. We dive into the details of that in this guide. Another big one, events. How many times have you maybe done a workshop, showed up at a race and it's kind of like you show up and hope for the best. You don't need to do that. You should have an event sequence built into your email provider because it's going to deliver a campaign that stimulates engagement and better attendance for all the events you have. We're going to detail all of that in this guide as well. Now, when you get down to and you're saying, great, okay, campaigns, I kind of get it. I'll get the guide. I'll take a look at it. New patient activation reactivation and events. Cool. Now you might be thinking yourself, okay, that makes sense. But how the heck do I write a compelling email? I think we've all seen a bunch of emails that are terrible. And if it was easy to write a great email, everybody would do so. This guide will help you get to where you need to be regarding that. So we're going to break down how do you write a good subject line? And then the goal of the subject line is to get the person to click right. Your subject line is designed to get the individual who receives the email to open. That is the singular Goal of the subject line, it's not until the whole story is to get them to open their email. So if your open rates on your emails are absolutely terrible, you probably have a subject line issue. We identify that in this guy. Second is the body copy. When somebody clicks in, in what are they reading? How are you positioning yourself? We go into that in detail in this guide. So you know exactly where to go. And then of course, as you get towards that conclusion, what we call the invitation or the call to action, how do you go about that? We've broken that down as well in this guide. So you know exactly the best and most effective ways you can go about having a strong cta, having a strong call to action that ultimately gets results. So that is where we go with this email guide. We talk a little bit about deliverability, list size, open rates, click through rates, how do you identify problems, what should you be looking at and what don't you need to concern yourself with? All of that and more is in this ultimate email strategy guide. Happy to deliver it to you. Type email down in the comments below. We'll make sure we get it across. Also, we dive into unsubscribe rates. I know a lot of docs out there like, oh my gosh, I get terrified if somebody unsubscribes. I take it personally. Jimmy unsubscribed. I can't believe it. I've known Jimmy for years. Don't stress out about unsubscribe rates. But there are indications and cases when a high unsubscribe rate is telling you something. In some ways, unsubscribes from emails are natural list cleaning. If somebody unsubscribes and you're delivering valuable content, they probably were never going to take the next step. So don't stress out about unsubscribes. However, if your unsubscribe rate is beyond the norms and we break down exactly what those norms are in this guide, then that might be an indication that something is fishy and we break all of that down and more. So there's a lot to dive into in this email guide. The best tools we showcase the tools that we use ourselves. Some of what we think are great copywriting tools, email service providers, chiro emails, the smart chiropractor. All of that is shown in here with clickable links. So you can get to Grammarly, you can get to Hemingway editor, you can get to Cairo emails. This gives you all of the tools and resources that you need to really build a strong foundation for your practice via email. So if you have any questions about this whatsoever, please drop them down below. Also, type email in the comments and I'll deliver the strategy guide to you. Have a fantastic day.
