Jeff Langmaid explains how to build referral relationships with doctors and patients. Find your "dance partner": accept that not everyone will refer to you, then use a repeatable process. Track contacts with case notes and meetings, run consistent weekly and monthly activities to stay top of mind instead of one-off pitches.
What did you.
Find being the most valued way of creating a relationship with patients and or other professionals?
From a physician side, there's a couple of things I always like to say. It's about finding your dance partner. Not everybody's gonna like you. You're not gonna like everybody else. That's okay. So some of it is having patience and a thick skin. The other is having a process. Because often what happens is if somebody does that, stop, and then it's 20 years later, and they haven't built a single relationship in their community because of what happened in the first year of their career. So it's about patience and having a thick skin, but a system and a process. That's where we talk about building a target list. So you track what's going on, using case notes, research, and meetings to build that relationship over time, all in different ways. And having processes week in, week out, month in month out, that ensure that you're staying top of mind, because otherwise it's an activity that you're going to quit tomorrow.
