This YouTube video (Rock Stock 2019 recap) features Jeff Langmaid plus Rock Tape presenters summarizing key movement concepts from the Rockstock Movement Festival in Huntington Beach (2019). Main takeaways: movement adaptability and fluency are emphasized over a single "perfect" movement pattern; movement diversity/variability should be assessed and integrated into care; practical lab content includes association vs disassociation of the lumbo-pelvic-hip complex and progressions/regressions of the bridge exercise. The video is aimed at chiropractors, physical therapists, athletic trainers and other movement clinicians.

Hey, everybody, what's going on? I am here live at rock stock 2019 in Huntington beach and I wanted to break down this morning's big takeaway. You guys know this is one of the events that I think you have to be at. If you are somebody that's involved in chiropractic, if you're somebody that's involved in athletic training, if you're a physical therapist, if you take care of people and get them out of pain, better functional ability, then movement is an essential component of that. And today's topic was really all about understanding movement adaptability. So for Rock Tape this year, it's really about movement systems, movement patterns and understanding movement fluency. There's not a perfect way to move, there's not a perfect way to squat. We all are built a little bit differently. And as a provider, as a chiropractor, and that's really the big takeaway from this morning's session was understanding that people are going to move different ways. But it's all about being fluent, it's all about being fluid, and it's all about being adaptable as you go through those movement patterns. If you can do that, then you're going to be in a great position to help your patients get well quicker, but also have better long term outcomes, which is what it is all about. Hey, guys, Steve Capobianco here with Rock Tape. I'm here in Beautiful Huntington Beach, California for the 2019 Rock Stock Movement Festival. This year we're focusing our attention on the concept of movement diversity, some would call movement variability. What we're doing is defining the idea that there's an acceptable variance in how we move our bodies, how to delineate what is acceptable, how to screen and assess and take into account the psychosocial component of how we move our bodies. So this year is one of the first years where we get to optimize human movement by taking a more variable look at how we move our bodies in an authentic way. Hey guys, this is Mike Stella coming at you from Rock Stock 2019. And in our breakout movement lab, Mitch How Shield and I are talking about the difference between association and disassociation of movement really centered around the lumbo pelvic hip complex. We're taking the bridge. We're going to dissect it down into its basic parts and then give you guys really great progressions and regressions. These broader concepts that you can apply to just about any movement possible. Hey, what's going on? If you loved that video, be sure to subscribe to this channel.
