Hey, what's going on? I get a ton of questions about audio, Obviously. I shoot a ton of videos. You guys see them all the time on Facebook, on YouTube, all over the place. And I get a lot of questions on microphones. How do you make it sound good? Because there are two big items that we always talk about when you are shooting video. Number one is making sure it's nice and bright, making sure that the lighting is great. But. But today we're going to do a little bit of an A and B comparison between microphones and audio because it makes a huge difference. It is the number one reason why somebody leaves a video actually is because of audio, not necessarily lighting. Lighting's great. Lighting is super important, but people will tolerate a little bit of not perfect lighting a lot longer than they will tolerate poor audio content. So I wanted to give a little bit of an A and B comparison. I just picked up recently this rode microphone. So it's a wireless lavalier microphone. You can see it's got the belt pack here, and it goes directly to the camera there. Paul and I were just walking outside, we tested it, and it goes for like 100 meters, 300ft. Perfectly clear.
We're still doing good. Wow, it's pretty far. Microphone check, Jack. We still got signal. Do we still have a signal? Oh, my gosh. All right, that's enough. We got a lot of signal. We got one, two, at least 250, 300ft.
So you can hear. That's what I've been recording on this entire video episode. But I also wanted you to be able to hear what it sounds like when we switch to a shotgun microphone. We're going to do that right now. So this is the audio now on a shotgun microphone. Get a little clip of it right here. It's a rode shotgun microphone. It's a great quality mic, but you can see or you can hear so much of the difference between when I was on the lavalier, the one that's really close to me, that picks up that audio. So crystal clear. And when a microphone is used, that might be five, six, or eight feet away. And again, it's important to keep in mind right now we're using a rode shotgun microphone. It's not a slouch, it's a good mic. But if you're just using your iPhone, if you're not using any of these advanced microphones whatsoever, you are doing yourself a disservice, and your views are definitely not getting where they need to be if you don't have that audio. So let's switch back to the lavalier. So now we're back on the lavalier. You can tell that there's such a big difference between when something is used that is professional grade quality, that is a lavalier, it gets right to the source of the audio. You can hear things super clear and it is very focused. The sound compared to what we had when we were using that shotgun microphone. Both are great, both have different applications. Shotgun mic might be awesome if there's more than one person in a room. If you're trying to get the vibe of the entire room, shotgun mics are where it is at. But if you are shooting first person video and a lot of it, I would highly recommend that you check out getting a lavalier microphone. We have a wired one, but then you're kind of tethered to the camera. So that's where we went and we went a little big and picked up the wireless as well. So it'll be a lot easier during travel and I look forward to you guys seeing and hearing it as we continue to shoot these videos consistently from here on out. So I will put a link below to the microphone that I picked up. So if you're interested in grabbing a professional level wireless lavalier microphone, you can go ahead and do so. I'll also post a link to the shotgun microphone if that is more in your budget or more what you are looking for. So remember, audio is absolutely key and when you keep your audio tip top, you will keep your viewership at the top that it can possibly be. So little tips there. And if you have another tip on a microphone that you are using, let us know in the comments below. Let's share, let's learn and let's keep on building chiropractic. Hope you have a good day.
Bye bye.
