Hey Doc. I'm Dr. Jeff Langmaid with the Evidence Based Chiropractor and today I want to talk about what you need to know to build referral relationships with medical doctors. The number one thing you need to know is it's not going to happen on its own. You need to have systems and processes in the right tools and mindset to get there. So if you are sitting back hoping that eventually somebody's going to refer into your practice, you might be sitting there waiting for a long time. And I talk to docs every day that have been in practice 5, 10, 15 years or more that have never had a referral come in or maybe one a month, maybe one a year from another provider in their community. And man, they are missing out on what I consider to be the greatest opportunity to build, grow and develop their practice without spending money on advertising. That's through building referral relationships for many docs. It's just that you don't know where to start. So what do you need to know to build referral relationships? Number one, you need to know about the three pillars that we discuss within the evidence Based Chiropractor. Those three pillars of MD marketing are case notes, research and meetings. We've highlighted a bunch of other videos we'll get up on the screen and down in the show notes that showcase exactly how you can take advantage of those three pillars. Sending case notes so that you can stay consistent and show that you co manage, sending research so that you fill in the holes between those case notes and stay super consistent as you build, grow and develop that relationship. And meetings. Meetings are the gasoline on the fire. They are the accelerator. They build trust and rapport faster than anything else and, and they can give you the inside knowledge and inside track to be able to build that relationship. So utilizing those three pillars is critically important when you get out there and build relationships. But underneath those have to be the systems and processes that you and your team utilize day after day, week after week, month after month to get there. Now why do you want to do this? Here's the truth. One of the best things about building referral relationships is that it can last a career. It can last a lifetime. As you develop trust with somebody as you become their go to chiropractor, their go to conservative care provider for a variety of different conditions, you will continually see, I call it the faucet go up, you might see a drip to get started or referral every now and again. And that can build exponentially over time. Imagine if you had just 10 providers in your community. Referring three, four, five patients a month into your practice, I think it would dramatically change the face of your practice and and it would dramatically change your bottom line and what you're taking home each month. The other benefit about this is it's all about finding your dance partners. As I like to say, when you build referral relationships, you want to go in to other healthcare providers who are already seeing your ideal patients. Why? Because that means your practice will start to become filled with more of your ideal patients. You do not need to see anybody or somebody that just came in from an advertisement. When you start building relationships with other providers who have your ideal patients in their practice, you start to see more of your ideal patients come back in. Fill in your schedule. That makes practice way more fun with way less stress and way more profitable. So the big things you want to keep in mind if you're trying to double your referrals this year is have systems and processes.
