A senior hotel executive with 20 years in the industry talks about why she was scared to hire a coach, worried it would make her look weak. She describes what changed her mind and what coaching actually did for her presence and confidence.
So today we're going to talk about executive coaching and leadership coaching. So you worked as a senior executive on the hotel side for a number of years. How many years have you been in the business?
Been in the industry about 20 years.
Okay.
Yes, I did start when I was 10. Sorry. No.
That'S. No, no, that's a good one.
Well, it's one thing to learn a type of a task or a job. It's different to learn a style.
Oh, that's a good point.
So when the idea of an executive coach came around, initially, it was a little intimidating, I would say more intimidating, a little, little bit fearful because I've made it this far and I knew I needed help doing that. But there's always the fearful of, you're not. You don't have the executive presence.
Right. And.
When you say it out loud, that means it's more of a reality. So I think that's where the little bit of fear and the intimidation came from.
