Let's JessTalk Radio Laser Coaching Moments Will Edwards & LisaListen February 13, 2015

Live episode of "Let's Just Talk Radio" (host Jesse Ferrell, co-host Will Edwards, with LisaListen contributions). The show runs laser-coaching call-ins where callers (Danny Vegas, Christian, Jill, Paul, others) present personal/business/relationship issues. Coaches offer solution-focused guidance: event promotion (Danny's business luncheon, $30 ticket), work–life balance and vocational advice (distinction: job → career → vocation; build a vision and backward-plan; 90-day/1/3/5-year planning), relationship 'house rules' (3 preferred non-negotiable agreements, 90-day checkups), and communication strategies for resolving hurt and denial (ask intent, invite conversation, seek understanding). The episode mixes promotions (Will's We Funny show, contact numbers: 702-731-1230; toll-free 1-866-820-5528; coaching contact 702-541-6992) with practical coaching.

Hello. Hello out there, Radio Land listeners. We are at let's JUST Talk Radio with Just Talk. Lisa, listen. And we have an extraordinary co host, Will Edwards. We're gonna hear from him in a moment. Want to just do a little bit of an update. Today's show is going to be about laser coaching in terms of the full broad of what we're going to hit. We did a great, we had a great connection last week and some wonderful folks tuned in. And then the week before that our laser coaching program was just off the track. So we're going to look to get that that way. Again, those of you that are out there listening and you want to have an opportunity for a laser coaching moment, you'll call in at 702-731-1230. That's 702-731-1230 or toll free. That'll be 866-820-5-528. Again, 866-820-5528. If you're out there listening and you'd like to have an opportunity at a laser coaching moment with myself and Will Edwards, I also want to say to you that we just got back. In fact, Will, I want to just voice this to you. We just got back from an incredible speaking engagement in Vancouver, Canada.
Nice.
It was for a group called ypo, Young Professional Organization out of Quebec, Canada.
Yes.
And just sensational. Just a wonderful four hour just kick butt program.
Just in it.
Yeah, yeah. It was on work life balance.
Oh wow.
Can you imagine? I know you, you could spend some time in that because you are a work, you're the hardest working man and, and show business, my goodness, I, you.
Know, I could use some of that. I should have, I should have been in Canada.
Exactly. So with that being, you know, I, I think we have a caller on the line which is particularly early, but that's okay. Let's go ahead and take that caller who's that caller on the line for us? That is Danny. Danny Vegas. What do you say, sir?
It's the business ninja.
Love here. Love hearing your voice, Danny. How you doing?
My buddy Will Edwards coined that phrase years ago, and I've been keeping it. It's the business ninja.
It's the business ninja.
That's right. That's who. That's who Danny is, the business ninja.
Well, Danny, you and I got something coming up here very shortly too. Why don't you tell us what that is?
Well, that's right. That's what we're. That's what I'm calling about, you know, on February 24th is the inaugural business luncheon of mob men of business, Something that's been on the Danny Vegas shelf for many years. But I finally, you know, listening to lots of coaches, including yourself, I finally came up with this strategy in 2015 that, hey, man, if something on my race car, I'm not doing it.
Nice.
What we did is we kind of x the expo now. I know everybody's shocked. They're just shocked. The expo is going away. It was very successful. We loved it. But by the time I was done, finished with it, I was like one of those wildebeests at the end of the migration. Lost a thousand pounds, and I couldn't even drink water.
I was so.
So we decided, why don't we take that away, which really wasn't on the race car, and let's implement these business clubs that have been sitting on the shelf forever. And that's what we're doing. I'm very excited about it. And the first speaker, the first cat out the gate is you, man.
How about a round of applause? Yes, sir.
Awesome. That is awesome.
You know what? You know what they say? McFadden and Whitehead said it best. Ain't no stopping us now.
Dang.
Right, right.
Isn't that. Isn't that a song, Danny? Check it out. Check. Listen to this. I think that's a song. Hold on. Here it is. No, that's a different song. How about this one? There it is. There it is. You know that song, Danny?
I see those songs now. So the big thing to do is because this is what happened to Jesse, we're getting quite a few RSVPs, but, hey, no one's buying the ticket. You don't RSVP. I don't have a spot for you unless.
Well, can we talk about what the ticket costs maybe? Is that. Is that precluding people? Maybe they don't know how attractive it is.
30 bucks. That includes all the tax, license, tip, gratuity, you know, all that stuff.
So that's pretty good.
Now. That's really good. That's. That's not even talking about what Danny's. That's. Danny's even given the rollout of everything he's gonna be providing, he's also providing a professional speaker that's going to. You never know. In a word, in a sentence, in a phrase and a story could completely shift the quality of their lives in the. In a great direction. Am I right? Change it, right, Danny?
Change your life. Here's the deal. You know, our sister club, Lady Vegas is going off on February 17th, and I don't know, but the ladies seem to be gravitating to their club more than the guys, so. Guys, all right, do me a favor. We got a room that's going to be full. If you buy the ticket, RSVP's on Facebook. Don't mean anything. It's like kissing the sister. Okay, you got to go on Danny VegasLive.com. secure your spot.
Hey, Danny, I have one word that might just attract more men. One word. Bacon. Bacon. Yeah.
This is Italian restaurant. So they do serve bacon, in other words.
Well, is it. What you making? Bacon.
All you can eat bacon. 30 bucks.
We'll do that next month. Minute businesses every month. Plus we'll be doing some events with our sister club, Lady Vegas. It's all about standing tall, speaking straight, and acting right. I'm so excited about this that, you know, along with everything else I do, it's all on the race car. It's all fast. It's all furious.
Well, you know, we like it and I'm actually glad to be a part of it. This whole inaugural push. And we will leave them wanting more. What you're bringing and what I'm going to bring to the table, it's going to leave them wanting more. The 30 bucks is absolutely a gift for you to charge such a low price for them to get such a phenomenal walk away. So thank you for calling in, Danny. We really, really appreciate it. And stay tuned for some laser coaching because Will and I about ready to light it up in here.
You go.
I'm listening.
Okay. Nice, nice. Very good. Thanks for calling in. All right, I'm out. All right, Will, that was. That was good stuff. You know what? It's not the money.
No.
I think what people need to do is take some consideration for what they may gain from this. Not so much the dollar investment, but even the time investment. Is this worth their time?
Exactly.
No matter where they're at in life, they could be at a good place. Not necessarily looking to have somebody fix them or correct them, but wanting to go from good to great.
Yeah.
They could be at a great place. Wanting to figure out how to maintain it.
Yeah.
They could be at a, at a not so good place, a rough or bad place. Looking to get back to baseline.
Yep.
You know what? I don't care where you're at on the continuum. We're all living the same lives.
Exactly.
And so.
And we're all trying to get better.
We're all trying to get better. And get this. No matter which phase or state stage you're at.
Yes.
What got you there is likely not going to keep you there.
Exactly.
Because other things change.
Exactly. If you, if you, if you sit something out, it's going to rot no matter how great it is.
The most profound change as well I've ever earned or received in my life.
Yes.
Came from other people. They say it in South Africa. Imuntu ingamontu ingabantu, which means pretty close. Which means thank you for the hat. Which means people are people because of others.
Ah, nice.
And so it makes sense for me being in a rough spot and picking up a book from a person by the name of Brian Tracy, first chapter of that book, 100% shifted my entire life to how I live today.
Wow.
So that's powerful. I say to you and to the listeners and to the Danny Vegas folks are out there that may be sitting on the fence. Get off the fence. All it takes is your one handshake away from an entirely different lifestyle.
Love it. Love it.
Do you agree with all that? I agree.
I agree.
And you're living all that. I love it. So tell us about, tell us about the Will Edwards show. And then we're going to jump into some laser coaching on Tiffany.
Real quick.
Bring me into the Will Edwards Show.
Will Edwards show. Vegas is only late night variety talk show. We're on the air. Thank you. Man, this, this crowd in here is crazy. We're on my Lv TV Cox channel 12, DirecTV channel 21. And you know, the show is a variety talk show. We have tons of guests. We've had you on, we've had Danny Vegas on. We, we, we have entertainers on. And then we do a musical guest, some sketch comedy. We really try to give you a great 30 minutes of entertainment.
You know, funny thing, it's a great rhythm. And we talk about, I talk about the five minute hour. Yes, you just talk about 30 minutes. So you've got the two and a half minute. Half hour.
Exactly.
Your program really is a zip. That half hour is not a real half hour. It's. Something happens in that half hour. Well, so many somethings are happening in that half hour.
Exactly.
That it's, it's an extravaganza and an excitement and a edge of the seat kind of. You don't know. I don't even on the show, I didn't know what you were going to do next.
Yeah. Well, you know what's great about this show and you just mentioned it earlier, what's great about, about my show is that I get to meet so many people.
Yes.
And you don't know. You, you have no idea. You'll get a guy, he's on, he's on the strip. He's in a great show. He's been doing it for years. But you didn't know that before that he was homeless.
Exactly.
Living in his car.
Jim Carrey.
Da da da.
Exactly.
So you know when you say that other people touch and can change your life. Every single time I interview someone, you know, I think I get a little stronger.
A little. People are people because of others. South Africa saying, get this, Brian Tracy and a couple other really good speakers have sort of coined this thing. Charlie Tremendous Jones is another one. And it says that, it says that you will be the same person you are today, except for the books that you read, the people that you meet and what you do about your own life circumstances.
Love it.
You, you don't do those three things. Well, you're exactly the same today as you were yesterday and 10 years ago and 15 and 20. And we know people like that.
We do.
Are they happy? No. We.
And you go back to, you go back to your, to your hometown.
Yes.
And there they. There some of them are.
And usually it comes in a brown paper bag squeezed at the top.
Exactly.
Leaning against the brick.
Exactly.
It's liquor. Yep.
Right.
So anyway, with all that being said. No, this is going to be cool. We're going to do laser coaches.
Let me share one thing with yes.
Tonight.
If you're in Las Vegas tonight, 9pm at the Scullery downtown Las Vegas. I, I am hosting We Funny comedy show.
Yes. And you know, that is, that is. And let me tell you something. We funny. Is you funny. But let me, but let, let me, let me step into that for me. Let me qualify that.
Yes, please.
I come from a family of folks that have some decent comedians in the family. Well, you know, I'm only going to name one we all think we're funny. We're not, but some are.
Yes.
Richard Pryor.
Ah.
Is my cousin nice. Yes.
Wow.
And so when I say you funny, I'm saying I'm judging you on Richard Pryor scale. You funny. I love it.
Thank you.
How's that leave.
That left me feeling pretty good. Let's laser somebody in here.
My grandmother's last. My grandmother's maiden name. Last name is Prior. So I'm saying I'm in good company. We funny and you funny.
Well, thank you very much. I accept that. I accept that.
It sounds like the mutual admiration society in here.
It does.
It really isn't. It's just that we dig good work and good people.
We do.
With that. Let's do laser coaching moments. Let's say are you ready to roll?
I'm ready.
So with the laser coaching moment, a coaching moment is when someone seeks to partner with another individual, experienced individual, to improve the quality of their lives in a global way.
Nice.
And there are processes, there are programs and they typically take more time on laser coach. And we seek to get people on the right path or with. With solution based thinking. Not necessarily answer all the questions or solve their problems. Get them on the right path. Path with solution based thinking with our laser coaching moments. That's why we introduced and it went over. It's gone over very, very well.
I love it.
So listeners out there, be ready. In fact, we've got a caller on the line. The caller is Christian. Let's bring Christian on the line and let, let me have my way with that. That person. Christian, are you there?
Yes.
Good morning, gentlemen.
Good morning. How are you?
I'm doing okay. I'm doing okay. I'm glad to listen to your program this morning and I heard you say Jesse a few minutes ago about sitting on the fence and I have a situation I was hoping maybe you could assist with.
Let's hear, let's hear what's on your mind.
Well, I've been in Las Vegas. I'm calling from here. I've been here for over 20 years and I've actually been in the workforce for close to 30 years and currently I'm unemployed. I've spent a third of my time, my working career self employed, having worked for a couple different industries. It's been several months since my last career ended. I find myself a little bit depressed and trying to figure out what I really want. And I'm actually sitting on the fence trying to decide if I should go back to working for someone else or stay working for myself. I guess at this point in my life, I know more about what I don't want than what I do want. You know, at this point, what do you think you could say to that?
Well, my first thought would be to you, Christian, is have you figured out what makes you happy? What brings you joy?
You know, that's a tough question because, you know, the last statement that I had said was I know more about what I really don't want and I do know some things that bring me joy. But I guess I haven't really found my true purpose at this point in life.
Good point. That you brought up purpose with purpose. That can be a bit of a challenging piece, but it certainly can be done and typically with more community than alone. Do you know what your best gifts and talents are? What are in your mind, the things that you are exceptionally good at, Better than most, if not all. What are your best gifts and talents?
Well, as far as running a business, I'm very motivated. I'm very good with time management, I'm very good at working with others. It's just I haven't found a particular skill set or I should say a particular acumen to apply that to. I've been successful in whatever I've applied those qualities to, but I have yet to really find my true calling.
So it be right. And so let's say this a calling. And I get what you're saying by that. That's when someone has, well, all of us have gifts and talents. Some of us don't really realize that or we do and don't know how to bring them out, or we bring them out and don't know what to do with them. I mean there are different stages on that. So what I would say to you is my recommendation to you, Christian, is to truly get in touch with your. Not just from your own perspective, but from people that know you well from their perspective as well, what they believe you're your number one gift and talent is or the top, top few at the very least. And I wouldn't go beyond that. And as you get in touch with that, you get an opportunity to do what I call climb the ladder. There's a three step ladder, Christian. The first step is where a lot of people step, if they're, if they have the energy to do so, called a job, which that acronym for a lot of folks stands for just over broke. The second step that some people step into is career. On this three step ladder, Christian, have you ever seen someone what they look like after about a 25, 30 year career?
Yes. And that's why I went to self employment.
Okay, fair enough. Broken, tired, burnout, frustrated. Do you relate to any of that, Christian?
Absolutely.
Okay. Fed up, just don't want to do, cannot do it anymore. Does that sound familiar? Yes. So what it's time now, Christian, is for you to step on the third step. And a lot of people don't know that third step. And I want you to draw this out after this program, draw out a very small image of a three step ladder. And on the first step, label it job. On the second step, label it career. And on the third step, label it vocation. And a vocation. We've heard that term before. Have you heard that term before, Christian? Vocation?
No, I have not.
Okay. It's an old school term that a lot of folks use. They think it means job, but it doesn't. Vocation actually comes from the Latin word vocare, which means to call interesting or answer a calling. So your vocation is your calling, which is connected to your best gifts and talents, which is your purpose, why you are here on this earth, uniquely amongst all the rest of the folks that are on this earth. You got that, Christian?
I don't know about you, Christian, but I just learned something.
No, I learned a lot. I mean, there's still a lot of mystery to be solved, but I'm just at such a point. It's like when you're in the forest, as they say, and I'm stuck in the forest and I can't see through it.
I get that, Christian. But does that, does the image of what I just brought to you give you some hope that there are solutions to your predicament?
Absolutely. Because it basically just told me, my gut was telling me that is I do need to stick with self employment. I just need to figure out what and how and, and I guess start moving towards it.
And it's, and it's the, it's the whole thing of actively, actively doing it and actively looking at it. I mean, a friend told me a while back, he said to me, dude, what is the one thing that makes you the most happy? And I love that, you know, And I answered the question and for me it's entertaining. Entertaining. I feel the best of myself and I think that, Christian, many of us, you know, we don't, we don't want to look at what makes us happy because we work, we have a job and we're supposed to be miserable and so on and so forth.
And people do believe that. Well, people think, people think that they're supposed to be miserable because so many people are.
Yeah.
People think they're supposed to be depressed because they allow things to bring them there. Tell us more.
Well, but here's what you have, Christian, which most people don't have. You have an incredible opportunity and I know it doesn't feel that way, but you right now have an incredible opportunity to map your path right now. And I think, just think it's going to take, you know, putting those three tiers and then finding out what it is that makes you the most happy and going for that.
And that, Christian, is going to be your best breakthrough at this point of your life. And a breakthrough, Christian, is a moment in time when you get an insight or you see a truth offering transformation.
Well, I got to say this, this is nice. This is a sanity check right here, what you guys are telling me, because I feel like such an anomaly some days. Most of my co workers, network friends, colleagues, neighbors and such, not really any of them enjoy what they do. It's just a job. And I'm starting to feel like I'm going crazy.
Exactly. But you're not what we need to do, in fact, we have programs that can certainly help you beyond this laser coaching moment. We can talk about that in a second and we won't hold you too much longer. But I do want to say to you that the, the, all the, all the advice and the laser coaching that Will and I provided for you so far is all germane at all point. And what I'm going to lead to is all that's going to lead you to a specific point that you have to strike in terms of a unique goal for yourself. And the saying goes like this. If you aim for nothing, you will surely hit it with dead accuracy. So we will want you to pick a focus, pick a vision of what your life must look like for you. Build a backwards plan from that vision back to where you sit today. Live the plan forward, making shifts and adjustments along the way to make those goals and aspirations come true with a single mind focus. How does that leave you feeling, Christian?
Unbelievable. It's absolutely unbelievable what you're saying. Because as I said, I can't seem to get this out of anyone. And so I just sit here day after day and you start to fall a little further down the rabbit hole.
Exactly. So what I'm going to say is time to build a life plan. Why don't you give us a call if you're interested, give us a call at 702-541-6992. That's just talk speaking and Lisa, listen coaching. So 702-541-6992 let us talk to you about some programs that we can get you or a specific program that we can get you on that's going to allow you to build your life plan with a lifestyle portfolio focusing on three critical result areas inside of that. And I don't want this to be overload on you, Christian, but we'll build a 90 day plan which means what are you doing today to help you both today and tomorrow?
Good point.
It's a 90 day plan and it's connected with a one year perspective, a three year overlook and a five year vision. And we work on that and we build that organically to suit you. Specifically highly customized. But it's a tool and a process and a system all in one that is likely the life changer you're looking for.
Nice.
Well, I know this question has certainly led to many more and I'm actually going to take you up on that. When's a good time for me to.
Give you a call, Jesse, I will tell you what. We will be off the radio and within the next 45 minutes I would say if you give just talk a call between the hours of 2pm and 6pm today, you will get either myself or Lisa and we will tell you a bit more about being the catalyst for change that's going to help you get exactly the life that you want.
Gentlemen, I appreciate your time. Thank you so much. You've really helped me out.
All right. Thanks so much, Christian. Thanks for calling. All right. That's. That was a good one, wasn't it?
That was great.
Yeah, that's great.
Because everybody, look, we all believe that we're the only ones going through.
Exactly. And didn't Christian voice sound like he felt like he was the only one.
He thought he was the only one.
You could hear it in his voice.
He was very, very, it was very heavy.
It was. But for him. But like he didn't show a lot of signs of lightning now because he just got it. But imagine what that call is going to look like later today when he makes the connection to just talking. Lisa, listen. Love it. Love it. We got another call on the line. Is it Danny? Let's open up that line. Danny, are you on the line?
I am, yes.
Okay, talk to us. What's going on, Danny?
Well, I don't have a question kind of specifically regarding your time and, and not just managing your work and your family responsibilities, but particularly as it relates to friends.
Okay.
You know, because after A long week at work and then taking care of all of your family and household responsibilities. You know, I'm not always looking forward to spending three or four hours with friends or another family, you know, on my Saturday or my Sunday. But you know, my husband usually does. And it's not like I'm antisocial, but sometimes I just need a few minutes not in someone else's company. So do you have any tips for kind of how to manage that?
I really, really do. That's huge.
That's a big deal.
Don't you think? That's a pretty common piece that Danny's bringing up here.
And thank you, Danny, for bringing it up because I think, I think a lot of people go through that.
I think, I believe they do as well. So, so just tell me, let me ask you this. You're not anti social and you can certainly make your way about crowds and company and all that sort of stuff, but it sounds to me like what you really are looking for before you engage in that is some, some sort of decompression time or personal space time for yourself. Is that right?
Exactly.
And, and have you asked, have you asked your husband for that?
I haven't.
Okay.
Do you.
Is that going to be easy for you to ask him for that or that? Is that gonna be something he's going to resist or not understand?
I think there may be a little trouble understanding. You know, he's. He's one of those social butterflies. He always likes to be in someone else's company and always talking to someone. And I'm okay for a limited time, but you know when you have an unexpected guest and they're there throughout the evening and you're waiting to prepare dinner or do your homework with your children or, or even a Saturday where you just kind of wanted some downtime, you know, you're not always looking forward to going somewhere else for several hours over the next day.
I totally get that. I totally get that. I'm going to share something with you that we have shared at Just Talk with many clients that have this exact same predicament that you're bringing up. And I'm going to give you two choices of a name. The first name I'm going to give you is called Life Agreements. It's also synonymous with what I call house rules. I like the name house Rules because it's just, just sounds cooler. And what that is, House Rules or Life Agreements are you sit with your husband and you're going to play the game of life. And the game, the name of this Game is either house rules or life agreements. The reason why I offer an alternative because some people don't like rules. They're not rule followers. So they get turned off by the name rule or rules.
Right.
So an agreement. People don't object to an agreement. So you can either call it life agreements or house rules. So I'll refer to it as house rules. Get with your husband and say, I just got turned on to a brand new game. It's called house rules. And here's how it works. You get to pick up to three to four house rules. I get to pick three to four and they are non negotiable. They are relationship makers or relationship breakers. Because if you don't get. These are things that you have to have to be at an equilibrium in your life and you do not need to negotiate for that. This is the reason for a lot of relationship breakup because we don't communicate with one another, we don't make agreements. We expect people to read each other's mind. Danny, your husband is expecting you to read his mind and he wants you to treat him how he wants to be treated, not how you want to be treated and vice versa. So people really are best treated how they want to be treated. So come up with minimal amount, three to four maximum. No more than that either life agreements or house rules. You pick your three or four and he picks his three or four and they are non negotiable. And every 90 days have a checkup from the neck up a 15 minute to a half hour. Make a date night and check your house rules, your life agreements. How am I doing? Am I on board? Am I following my. Am I, how's it going?
Is there something we need to change?
Right? Is there something we need to change?
I realize that I don't need to number four anymore.
Exactly.
Can we, can we put in a new one?
If I don't need number four?
You're saying that maybe I put as one of my rules it would be maybe some sort of limit there Absolutely. Visits either from or going to.
Absolutely from or going to. Let's just make it up. You might say, listen, I know this is something that's really, really entrenched in you and I want to honor that and respect that. But I like my house rule to be that we have no more than than four, three to four unscheduled visits like that per month. I'm making that up. I don't know if that number is sufficient. You might have to adjust the number. And he says, yes, honey, I understand. That I'm on that. I will stick with that. And then he has a house rule that is not open for negotiation, and you seek to serve that, and you each seek to serve both your own house rules or life agreements and one another.
Here's what's great, Danny, is that this is. It seems to be. I'm pretty sure a lot of couples go through this. My wife and I go through it as well, because I have a television show. I do a lot of appearances. I go right. I'm always out. And when I'm out, it's like work.
It is work.
And so my wife and I have agreed. We've made our house ruled.
There you go.
And we've agreed that I. She is not obligated to go when I go.
Only when she wants.
Only when she wants to. I ask her, and if she says no, I don't get upset.
Nope.
And if I ask her, she doesn't get upset. We both realize where we are, and that's our house rule. And it. And it works.
And that's perfect for Danny. What. What. What will just offered is perfect for you to stage a conversation and do it at the right time. Pick the right tempo, pick the right time of day. Make sure your. Your husband's not exhausted from work or whatever. It's. It's a. It's a moderate moment when you introduce us and introduce it as a game that you seek. You both seek to play to win.
Yeah.
What do you think about that?
I think if you made our house rule.
There you go.
And we've agreed that I. She's not obligated to go when I go.
Only when she wants.
Only when she wants to. I ask her. And if she says no, I don't get upset.
Nope.
And if I ask her, she doesn't get upset. We both realize where we are, and that's our house rule.
And it.
And it works.
And that's perfect for coach.
It that way, then you're giving them the opportunity to express some of their concerns.
Absolutely.
Or needs as well.
Right. And they don't have to come to come. Right. With their house rules. The moment you announce, you can say, let's give us. Give ourselves a week to figure out what the real best two or three are, whatever those numbers are. And then next week, let's have another date night, and we'll spend 15. Danny, what will just offered is perfect for you to stage a conversation and do it at the right time. Pick the right tempo, pick the right time of day. Make sure your husband's not exhausted from work or whatever. It's a moderate moment when you introduce us and introduce it as a game that you both seek to play to win.
Yeah.
What do you think about that? I think if you have 20 minutes discussing it.
Yeah. And. And the truth of the matter is, and I learned this for myself, is that you're a team.
Exactly.
And you want each other to do. To do best, and you want to do best together. And I think because of that team mentality, you're going to build these house rules. That. That is going to strengthen the team.
Yeah, I like that. You know. Well. And I even call. I would even go so far to call that team your most exclusive partnership.
Yes. Without a doubt.
That's your closest partnership. If it isn't, you got a lot of troubles.
Yeah.
Right.
I think they approach it that way. Then you're giving them the opportunity to express some of their concerns.
Absolutely.
Or needs as well.
Right. And they don't have to come to come. Right. With their house rules. The moment you announce, you could say, let's give us. Look. Give ourselves a week to figure out what the real best two or three are. What.
Great tip, guys. I think that's something certainly that we can do. And you said maybe kind of limited to maybe 4. 4 or 5, so that it's not some sort of exhaustive list.
Quite honestly. Quite honestly, Danny, whatever those numbers are. And then next week, let's have another date night and we'll spend 15. Would keep it under four.
Yeah, under.
I would keep it under four. And the reason why. Because you don't need a house full of rules all the time. Because then that's what people think. They get stuck on the rule part instead of the part that is really just an agreement.
Three. Three is a good number.
I think three is an excellent number.
It's also a good number in comedy as well. You know, you get your three points. Three things that you're talking about.
20 minutes discussing it.
Yeah. And the truth of the matter is, and I learned this for myself, is that you're a team.
Exactly.
And. And you want each other to do. To do best and you want to.
We don't mean to make. We don't mean to make laughter out of your life, Danny, but we know we. We dig you, Colin. And I love. I like the rule of three. I think Will's onto something. So, Danny, call it your rule of three and. Sure. You know what? Do me a favor. Get. Get back to us. You can reach us at either 702-541-6992 when we're not on the air. You can also reach us@justtalk.com there's a.
Contact do best together. And I think because of that team mentality, you're going to build these house rules that that is going to strengthen the team.
Yeah, I like that. You know. Well. And I even call, I would even go so far to call that team your most exclusive partnership. Yes, without a doubt that's your closest partnership. If it isn't, you got a lot of troubles.
Yeah, I think that's a great tip, guys. I think that's something certainly that we can do. And you said maybe kind of limit information.
I would love to hear more back from you about how when you announce this, how this works so we can share it.
That'd be great.
Great.
I certainly will. Thank you both for your time today.
Thanks for calling in. Well, I love that we have another call holding. I want to get back to Danny in a second because I want some comments. But let's take this other caller. Jill's on the line before. I don't want to lose her because we, we are definitely smoking on this.
To maybe four or five so that it's not some sort of exhaustive list.
Quite honestly. Quite honestly, Danny, I would keep it under four.
Yeah, under four.
I would keep it under four. And the reason why, because you don't need a house full of rules all the time. Because then that's what people think. They get stuck on the rule part instead of the part that it's really just an agreement. Jill, are you on the line with us?
Yes, I am.
How are you listening to this laser coaching?
Three. Three is a good number.
I think three is an excellent number.
It's also a good number in comedy as well.
You know, stuff.
Yes, I am.
I love it. And you have a laser coaching moment of your own.
I do.
Jesse, I want to know how do you deal with a loved one who denies you the right to feel hurt about something they have done to you?
You get your three points, three things that you're talking about.
Say it. How do you deal with a loved one that you said that denies you three.
Danny.
So we don't mean to make, we don't mean to make laughter out of your life, Danny, but we know we dig you the right to feel hurt about something they've done for you.
Wow.
Colin and I love, I like the rule of three. I think will onto something. So Danny, call it your rule of three. And you know what, do me a favor. Get, get back to us. You can reach us at either 70254. Done. To you.
To you. To you.
Correct.
It's. Yes. It's deep. And I'm talking, I'm not talking about a spouse or significant other.
Okay. Okay. Just another love one. How's the dialogue between, with and between you and this loved one that has committed this 16992 when we're not on the air, you can also reach us@justtalk.com there's a contact. This, this. I don't know what to call it. Unjust matter. We'll call it an unjust matter. Information. I would love to hear more back from you about how when you announced this, how this worked, that didn't leave you feeling so good.
Just, just to say so we can share it.
That'd be great.
Great.
I certainly will. Thank you both for your time today.
Thanks for calling in.
No, I never said that. That's not, that's not what I meant.
Well, I love that. We have another call. Hold. I want to get back to Danny in a second because I want some comments.
Just completely denying anything that I'm saying.
So. And okay. So they slip into this. A lot of folks live in that place. That's. But let's take this other caller. Jill's on the line before. I don't want to lose her because we are definitely smoking on this. Some people think that it's just a river and. Jill, are you on the line with us?
Yes, I am.
How are you listening to this? Laser coaching style. But it's a sea of denial that people typically slip into and sink and so stuff.
Yes, I am.
I love it. And you have a laser coaching moment of your own.
I do.
Jesse, I want to know how do you deal with a loved one?
That person is living in a world of denial and you're living in a place where whatever this unjust matter as has hurt you or brought you to a very low place and you have no seemingly no way to communicate it, to work through it and get over it. Is that correct?
That is correct.
So have you ever, have you ever.
Thought about ask who denies you the right to feel hurt about something they have done to you?
Oh, say it. How do you deal with a loved one? Did you said that denies you the right to, to feel hurt about something they've done for you? Wow. Asking them to share with them their perspective of that conversation that caused the hurt. No. Done to you.
To you. To you.
Correct.
It's. Yes. It's deep. And I'm talking, I'm not talking about. I haven't.
That's a good point.
So in other words.
Yeah, because I think what it is, is. Is that you. You know, they have an idea of what it is they said.
Spouse or significant other.
Okay. Okay. Just another loved one. How's the dialogue between. With and. Between you and this loved one that has committed this.
You heard something and now you get. You should take that opportunity to say, well, this is what I heard. What did you say exactly?
Do you know what I mean? Exactly. And so you give them. When you do that, Jill, and Will, when you do that, you're not pointing the finger at them, accusing them of the. This. This. I don't know what to call it. Unjust matter. We'll call it an unjust matter that didn't leave you feeling so good.
Just. Just saying. No, I never said that. That's not. That's not what I meant. Just completely denying anything that I'm saying just.
Or the wrong. You're asking for conversation. And see, everything rises and falls in language, Jill. The language that you use, the language that you allow in or the toxic stuff that you make sure you keep out. And that little Jill that sits on your shoulder, that naysayer, the negative person that sits on your shoulder. So. And okay, so they slip into this. A lot of folks live in that place that's. Some people think that the. That it's just a river and talks about everything rises and falls in language. If you. If you shift this to a conversation aisle. But it's a sea of denial that people typically slip into and sinking. So that person is living in the world of denial and you're living in a place where whatever this unjust matter instead of an accusation that will shift the whole paradigm. It's just a conversation, but it's an empowering conversation. And you do it with faith. Don't do it as a manipulative move to get a particular outcome has hurt you or brought you to a very low place and you have no. Seemingly like an apology. Do it to grow an understanding of the matter you're looking to understand. No way to communicate it, to work through it and get over it. Is that correct?
That is correct, Stan.
From their perspective, you already know what it's like. From your perspective, it's called hurt feelings.
Yeah.
Am I right?
Yes, that's right.
You don't need. You don't need them to validate that. Do you really need that. That loved one to validate that your feelings are hurt?
Well, that's.
That's been my thinking.
All along.
But I need to.
So have you ever, have you ever thought about asking them to share with them their perspective change that because I'm.
Never going to get what I really need to hear that exact of that.
Conversation that caused the hurt. No, actually you need to shift your thinking by shifting the process. The process is now you're going to shift from I'm going to get what I want and need to make me feel better to I'm going to gain a bit.
I haven't.
That's a good point.
So in other words.
Yeah.
Do it for.
Because I think what it is is.
Better understanding from their perspective of the.
Matter and sometimes it makes sense. Yes. Is that you, you know, they, they have an idea of what, what it is they said sometimes, Joe, you're going to find out that when, when you, when you get hurt the best you heard something and now you get an. You should take that opportunity to say, well, time to do it. It's right there because you put space in between it. And sometimes, Jesse, I don't know if you think the same way, but when you put space in there, people then have the way of saying, well, I don't remember. I don't know what happened. So when someone does it to me, Jill, if somebody. This is what I heard. What did you say? It hurts my feelings in front of me. And, and it hits me. I, I turn and I asked them.
What'S your, what's your intention exactly?
Why did you what what is your intention? What are you trying to get at by saying that or doing that thing?
Where would you go?
And then you find out, well, oh, I don't know what my intention was. And, and now you're in a conversation rather than a, you know, you're, you're.
In a conversation, Jill. Not a battle, not a fight, not a he said you said. You see what I mean?
Yes.
And you give them an opportunity to get exactly what I mean. Exactly. And so you give them when you do that, Jill, and Will when you do that, you're not pointing the finger at them, accusing them of the unjust or the wrong. You're asking for conversation and see everything rises and falls in language, Jill. The language that you use the length to get for you, both of you to get lift off on the conversation. Randy Pausch I think what's called that you allow in or the toxic stuff that you make sure you keep out. And that little Jill that sits on your shoulder, that naysayer, the negative person that sits on your shoulder, talks about everything, rises and Falls in language. If you shift this to a conversation called the last lecture, I believe is what it was. Brilliant professor. He said something that goes right along with what you're talking about. He says, he says, he talks about, you know, getting feedback. Get the feedback loop and listen to it instead of an accusation that will shift the whole paradigm. It's just a conversation, but it's an empowering conversation. And you do it with. That's what you do in here. When people give you feedback, cherish it and use it and show gratitude, faith. Don't do it as a manipulative move to get a particular outcome. This laser coaching moment is about that. That's exactly what's happening with this. So you've got like an apology. Do it to grow an understanding of the matter you're looking to understand. You've got to do something with this, you know. And then he also said, find the best in everybody, whatever that is, including this loved one. He says no matter how long it'll take, you have to wait for them to show it, find the best in them. And by bringing it to a conversation, Stan, from their perspective, you already know what it's like. From your perspective. It's called hurt feelings.
Yeah.
Am I right?
Yes, that's right.
You don't need, you don't need them to validate that. Do you really need that, that loved one to validate? You're going to get an opportunity to find the best. What do you think?
I, you know, another thing, once you.
Do, your feelings are hurt.
Well, that's, that's been my thinking all along. But I need to change that because I'm never going to get what I really need to hear that exactly.
Once that conversation starts and that person gives it, gives you the information, you gotta accept some of that.
I like that. It's called responsibility.
You have to accept. You have to accept it because what happens sometimes is that we get stuck in the.
Exactly. You need to shift your thinking by shifting the process. The process is now in ourselves and.
What'S happening and then the herd and blah, blah, blah. But once they say, well, you know.
You'Re going to shift from. I'm going to get what I want and need to make me feel better to. I'm going to gain a better understanding from their perspective of the matter.
And sometimes. Yes, that wasn't my intention. I'm, I'm, I, I'm. What I meant to say was your, Your, you know, your hair looks better straight than it does.
Exactly. It could just be a misunderstanding.
Sometimes, Joe, you're going to find out that when, when you, when you get.
Hurt the best misinterpretation, a misperception. We misperceive things all the time.
All the time. But that conversation, when you open that door now you have to open up yourself. Time to do it. It's right there because you, you put space in between it and sometimes just to hearing what the truth.
I love it. What do you think about what Will just said, Joe?
I think.
I don't know if you think the same way but when you put space in there, people then have the way.
That's. I think that's great. Yeah. Because I've been putting a saying.
Well, I don't remember. I don't. I don't know what happened. So when someone does it to me.
Jill is somebody wall up and I have to let that down.
Exactly. And think about this, Jill. Right, right. Piggybacking on what Will said. And also I can hear. And since you're also getting a new light and understanding this, you might think that everyone's favorite radio station is KLAV 1230. It isn't. It's WIIFM. What's in it for me? You have to get off of Jill's WIIFM looking for that apology and get into another station. Tune into another station that allows you to raise the level of language and create a conversation. One that you're not wanting. Needing something from it other than a better understanding from their perspective.
It hurts my feelings in front of me and it hits me. I turn and I asked them what's your intention exactly? Why did you. What is your intention? What are you trying to get at by saying that or doing that thing where we go and then you find out, well, oh, I don't know what my intention was. And, and now you're in a conversation rather than a, you know, you're.
You're in a conversation, Jill. Not a battle, not a fight, not a. He said. You said. You see what I mean?
Yes.
And you and you give them an opportunity to get interesting.
Yes.
That's. That's worth thinking about, wouldn't you say?
Absolutely.
Outstanding. Jill. Anything. Does that help you? Does that laser coach these laser coaching moments are those helpful to that matter? And I know that's close to you. I can sense it. I can feel it. Does that help lighten the load and give you a pathway for. To get. For both of you to get lift off on the conversation? Randy Pausch, I think was called the last lecture. I believe is what it was. Brilliant Professor. He said something that progression in this manner?
Absolutely, yes. In just five minutes.
It goes all right along with what you're talking about. He says.
He says like a weight is lifted off me. So I really do appreciate that.
He talks about, you know, getting feedback. Get the feedback loop and listen to it. I hope you feel good about it, Jill, because we're charging you for the next one.
The first one free.
Worth it.
I don't know how long you been listening to the program, but earlier Will talked about he's doing a program, a show tonight, down down, called We Funny. I'm doing a program called We Charge. Thank you so much for calling, Jill. That was awesome. That's a great sharing moment and a great coaching opportunity, by the way. It wasn't a simple one for us to get. We had to really kind of contemplate it. So kudos to you for bringing a big one, a big doozy to the table here. And please keep listening to the program. We definitely love listeners and viewers like you and. And this is awesome. Thank you for calling in.
Thank you so much.
All right, have a great day.
You, too.
Thank you. Will. Was that. Now, first off, Danny's was good. We're gonna get the Danny's, but Jill's. I think that's what you're doing here. When people give you feedback, cherish it and use it and show gratitude. This laser coaching moment is about that. That's exactly what's happening with this. So you've got it. You've got to do something with this, you know? And then he also said, find the best in everybody, whatever that is, including this loved one. He says no matter how long it'll take, you have to wait for them to show it, find the best in them, and by bringing it to a conversation, you're going to get an opportunity to find the best. What do you think?
I. You know, another thing, Joe, once you.
Be honest with you, I had to blink three or four times.
I saw you blinking.
I was blinking at you.
Once that conversation starts and that person gives it, gives you the information, you got it.
I was thinking. I was thinking, well, I know I'm the registered coach on record.
Accept some of that.
I like that. It's called responsibility.
You have to.
But you got a pretty good pass yourself. What can we do with it when she first launched it? What came to mind for you when Jill first launched that piece?
I. You know, it's very hard to accept. You have to accept it. Because what happens sometimes is that we get stuck in the. Because we all go through it.
Everybody, especially when you talk about family matters and the biggest deals in ourselves.
And what's happening and then the hurt and blah blah, blah. But once they say well you know.
Biggest challenge in that I have. I have. Let's challenge one another. Sure. What do you think? In your opinion?
What. That wasn't my intention. I'm. I. I'm. What I meant to say was your, Your.
In your opinion. Jill's biggest challenge with that issue was that she brought.
I think it said it was a fan. It's. It's family.
I think it's family and I think it. She. She has.
You know, your hair looks better straight than it does.
Exactly. It could just be a misunderstanding, a misinterpretation, a misperception. We misperceive things all the time.
All the time.
But that a preconceived expectation of how she needs to be treated.
Yeah.
What. And one way for her to get better with that is to have a conversation.
Retrain conversation. When you open that door now you have to open up yourself to hearing what the truth.
I love it. What do you think about what Will just said? Joe? I think them on how she likes to be treated. Correct. Not insistent. And not wait for them to get it right. Correct.
Correct. I mean I. For me always it's always. What is. What is the intention of. Of. Of your communication? Once you say that to someone. They have to.
That's. I think that's great. Yeah. Because I've been putting a wall up and I have to let that down.
Exactly. And think about.
Think about what they said.
They absolutely do.
And now it's. Now it changes it.
But if you do it in the context of conversation instead of expectation.
Yep.
You have a different conversation.
Without a doubt.
When we let the walls go up like that. And someone does this. Jill. To write. Right. Piggybacking on what Will said. And also I can hear. And since you're also getting a new light and understanding this you might think that everyone's favorite meet our expectation. I can tell you what it becomes. A fight.
Yes.
And guess what? That fight can last a long time.
And you. And you know who's fighting? Only you.
Exactly.
Because the other person is. Is done with it.
I've heard it said best. This way other people's perception become your reality.
Yep. We've talked about.
We have talked about.
We've talked about that.
So let's. Let's. Let's. Radio station is KLAV 1230. It isn't. It's WIIFM. What's in it for me?
Yeah.
You Have. Let's do. We're gonna take one other quick call. I want to get back to Danny.
Yes.
And so, caller, are you on the line? You have to get off of Jill's wiifm looking for that apology.
Hello, Paul.
Oh, is that me?
Yeah.
Hey, how.
And get into another station. Tune into another station that allows you to raise the level of life.
Oh, hey.
Hey.
Jesse's Paul, Torina.
Oh, hey, Paul. How are you? How you listen to the program? Thanks for calling in.
I'm doing awesome, man. And I just wanted to call in.
And just say language and create a conversation, one that you're not wanting.
Needing something kind of blown away by.
What y' all do. I just, you know, I know what y' all do and I hear about it and I can just get a really good.
From it. Other than a better understanding from their perspective.
Very goodbye from you. But just hearing these couple of coaching sessions this morning, like you're the real deal on the spot, you know, like freaking. It's not. You can tell it's not scripted or anything. You just like it. It's really good stuff. I'm impressed.
Yeah, Paul, it's scary in here.
It is interesting.
Yes.
That's. That's worth thinking about, wouldn't you say?
Absolutely outstanding.
Jill. Anything. Does that help you? Does that laser coach these Laser coaching. You know what? And that's wonderful for you to notice that because there are every now and then moments. Are those helpful to that matter? And I know that's close to you. I can sense it. I can feel there's a bit of a hesitation because these are people's lives we're dealing with. And you know a lot about that because does that help lighten the load and give you a pathway for the. The stuff, the kind of work that you do, Paul, being I'm on call, I'm going to call you a nutritional scientist. But knowing you, you probably crafted an even different kind of a name that's sexy than that regression in this matter.
Absolutely, yes. In just five minutes, I feel like a weight is lifted off me. So I really do appreciate that.
What do you call yourself these days in terms of what you do?
Superhuman life coach.
Superhuman life coach. Now, where does nutrition fall in there? Because you're big on that. I hope you feel good about it, Jill, because we're charging you for the next one.
The first one.
I don't know how long you've been listening to the program, but earlier.
It'S.
A big foundational piece of it. You know, I think it's one of the easiest places to start for most people because it gets them feeling better.
It's not.
It's not the whole thing Will talked about.
He's doing a program, a show tonight, Down. Down. Called We Funny. I'm doing a program called We Charge.
You know, like, you got to get that figured out so you feel better, but then after you get the nutrition piece in place, you start to feel good. And then I tell people, like, you start to dream again, you know, like, you start to.
Oh, man.
Like, there's a whole freaking world out here that's not cloudy and. And aggressive and.
Thank you so much for calling, Jill. That was awesome. That's a great sharing moment.
And angry and freaking, you know, down and all that stuff.
That's huge. That's huge. And to get that kind of feedback from. From a superhuman life coach. I'm telling you right now, the fact that you're even listening says a lot about the kind of character that you are. And we appreciate that kind of you being that type of a caller that would call in just to say a quick hello to us and some show. Some show appreciation as well as be out there listening to their program. And knowing you, you're probably spreading the word, too.
Oh, yeah. And obviously anybody listen right now, I'll just say, like, if you're. If you're. It sounds like if you're stuck in any area of your life, like, you guys would be the people to go to. Sounds like it's not just business. It's relationship. It's. It's anything.
Absolutely. That's why we talk. That's why we say we seek to help you improve the quality of your life in a global way, globally, meaning, you know, full circle all the way around. Mental, physical, spiritual, emotional, educational, financial. You know what I mean?
Love it.
So that's huge. Thank you for calling in. We appreciate it, brother.
You're seeing you all here soon. Congratulations to your. Your, you know, I guess you'd call it your granddaughter, like AJ's baby.
That's exactly right. We appreciate that. Thank you. Thank you so much, man. You are so in the know. You are a Facebook friend.
I can know this stuff.
All right, man. Y' all have a good one.
Take care now. Paul T. Thanks, Paul. By now. So that was good for. That's a quality person calling and listening to the program. Let's go back to Danny. Talk to me about Danny's perspective, where basically she's got a husband that. That likes to, you know, socialize and be out there and be Visible. And she doesn't have any problem with it, but she wants a barometer on it.
Yeah. Yeah.
How do you think that coaching moment went?
I thought it went pretty good. I mean, you know, I just think that you, you, you have to take into an. An account and like me, I, I want my wife to go out with me. She's a beautiful woman and, And I, I'd love for her to. To be with me, but, you know, every, every outing isn't for her.
No. And you know what, what you do, Will you make it look easy. Another thing you, you do. I'm. Listen, I'm not trying to blow sunshine up your pant leg because you're wearing tight jeans today, but I told you, we. Funny in our, in our. We are a little bit in my family. I'm just saying. Little Richard CR. Prior action. That was my grandmama's side talking. But I'm not really trying to blow sunshine up your leg. But you actually make it look easy. You really do. And, but, but when you're working, you're also playing.
Yes.
Because it is your craft. You have mastered the art of living, which is. You make no distinction between your work and your play. James Mishner wrote a poem. It's really beautiful. I'm not going to get into it now, but your wife, that is not her calling. That is not her purpose. So she can do these things. But it's exhausting. It is to be in front of people and be on your A game and play nice, nice. And all this. It's exhausting, Will.
It is. So we, so we, we worked out an agreement, she and I, and we talk about. Every so often, we'll talk about the agreement and we'll. And we will acknowledge the fact that, you know, she is happy that I'm not forcing her. And then, and then I acknowledge the fact that, you know, I appreciate her willingness when she can go out and when she wants to go out. And if she doesn't, it's a bonus.
I understand it's a bonus when she goes. But see, a lot of people fight about it because she doesn't want to be as visible and out there. Yes, being visible and out there is how you're going to make it. If you're not visible and out there, you're not going to make it.
Exactly. And she says to me, well, what am I going to do when I'm out there?
Like, you always know what you're going to do. Yeah.
But, you know, her point is interesting. She says, what am I going to Do. Because you're out there to mix and mingle about your show. That's what you're out there to do. That's what your job.
She's not entirely 100. You are out there doing that well. But you're also out there building relationships.
Yes.
For relationship equity as well. Not even connected to the show.
It is true.
We have to. We have to get your wife not. Not have to. We have to ask your wife if she might like to get the same degree you have. And I know I have it. It's an MSU degree. MSU degree. I know you have it. When you're out there doing your thing, sometimes you do not have a plan. You're using your msu. Make stuff up.
Yes, I do.
You're just making stuff up.
I'm doing it right now.
Right. But something. Some people don't think about an MSU degree.
Yeah.
They think they have to be crafted and scripted on point. We think we're all judgment oriented. Your wife probably feels the pressure of feeling like she's got to rise to a certain level.
Yeah.
And then maintain it.
Yeah. Yeah.
And that's exhausting it.
I'm exhausted. I'm just thinking about.
Exactly.
But I think. I think what we gave Danny was great. I think. I think our rule of. Of three house rules.
Yes.
Is. Is something that is confrontable by. By the. By her husband. Probably by her. And I think that they are going. I think I. I can imagine that it's going to work out well.
I'm gonna start using the rule of three.
Use it. It's yours now.
That's why we got you on the show. You're not just funny. You also. We smart. I'm working on it. My mother used to tell me I was good. Boy, you smart mother. I'm not really interested in people thinking that. I think if you do smart things, they'll know.
Yeah, exactly.
I don't. I'm not one to wear education, but I went to. Like my mama would tell you, boy, you smart.
I love it.
No, thanks, Mom. No, it wasn't smart. It's smart. Oh, of course.
Of course.
Because she's from Louisiana.
Yeah.
There you go. So talk to us. We got. We've got about five minutes left on the show, and so let's talk about. Let's do a little bit of talk about the best of will in terms of Will Edwards and the WE funding program, and then we'll slide into the best of Just talk. So let's start. What's the best of what can people expect from the best of We Funny or the Will Edwards Show?
Well, you know, I have, I figured something out. I figured something out, Jesse, and that you, if you watch my television show on Miami TV or if you go onto our web on, onto thewilladwoodshow.com and you look up an, an episode on the show, you know, it's very interesting because you have to do it as well because you're interviewing people. But as an interviewer, you have to figure out the balance between being interesting and being interested.
Oh, I like that.
And once you can figure out that balance, you're gonna be really, really good. And I feel, I hope that I figured that out. And when you go on the show, you'll see that. But when you come out to my comedy show, you are getting a unadulterated Will Edwards. This is just stripped down. Don't bring your children's Will Edwards, by.
The way, let me translate that. The cheering would be another Southern term that would be for most of you listeners out there, children. So do not bring your children. Will couldn't help. He slipped a little bit into his family. And sometimes they call them chillin.
Chillin's.
Yeah, but those are also children.
That is true. So, so, you know, so you're getting, you, you're, you know, you're getting a bit of a raw Will Edwards when you come down to, to We Funny.
I love it. I love it. Get this. Everything you said.
Yes.
By the way, I've been to, I've been to We Funny, and I've been, I've been a guest on your show. Yes, first class.
Thank you.
And the other thing I'll say to you is of all the things you said, the most phenomenal that I want, great coaching opportunity. By the way, it wasn't a simple one from, for us to get. We had to really kind of contemplate it. So kudos to you for bringing a big one, a big doozy to the table here. And please keep listening to the program. We definitely love listeners and viewers like you, and this is awesome. Thank you for calling in.
Thank you so much.
Have a great day.
You, too.
Thank you. Will. Was that now, first off, Danny's was good. We're gonna get to Danny's. But Jill's, I gotta be honest with you. I had to blink three or four times.
I saw you blinking and I was blinking at you.
I was thinking, I was thinking, will, I know I'm the registered coach on record, but you got a pretty good pass yourself. What can we do with it? When she first launched it. What came to mind for you when Jill first launched that piece?
You know, it's very hard because we.
All go through it, everybody, especially when you talk about family matters. And the biggest. Jill's biggest challenge in that I have. And let's challenge one another.
Sure.
What do you think, in your opinion? In your opinion, Jill's biggest challenge with that issue was that she brought.
I think it said it was a. It's, it's family.
I think it's family. And I think it. She, she has a preconceived expectation of how she needs to be treated.
Yeah.
What. And one way for her to get better with that is to have a conversation, retrain them on how she likes to be treated.
Correct.
Not insistent. And not wait for them to get it right.
Correct. Correct. I mean, I, for me, always, it's always. What is, what is the intention of your communication? Once you say that to someone, they have to think about what they said.
They absolutely do.
And now it changes it.
But if you do it in the context of conversation instead of expectation, you have a different conversation.
Without a doubt.
When we let the walls go up like that and someone doesn't meet our expectation, I can tell you what it becomes. A fight.
Yes.
And guess what? That fight can last a long time.
And, and you know who's fighting? Only you.
Exactly.
Because the other person is, is done with it.
I've heard it said best. This way. Other people's perception become your reality.
Yep.
We've talked about, we have talked about that.
We've talked about that.
So let's, let's, let's, let's do. We're going to take one other quick call and I want to get back to Danny. Yes. And so, caller, are you on the line?
Hello, Paul.
Oh, is that me?
Yeah.
Hey, how are you?
Oh, hey.
Hey.
Jesse's Paul. Torina.
Oh, hey, Paul. How are you? How you listen to the program? Thanks for calling in.
I'm doing awesome, man. And I just wanted to call in and just say I'm kind of blown away by what y' all do. I just, you know, I know what y' all do and I hear about it and I can just get a really good vibe from you. But just hearing these couple of coaching sessions this morning, like you're the real deal. Well, you know, spot, you know, like freaking. It's not, you can tell it's not scripted or anything. You just like it. It's really good stuff. I'm impressed.
Yeah, Paul, it's scary in here.
It Is scary here, Paul, you know. You know what? And that's wonderful you to notice that, because there are. Every now and then there's a bit of a hesitation because these are people's lives we're dealing with. And you know a lot about that because the stuff. The kind of work that you do, Paul, being. I'm going to call you a nutritional scientist, but knowing you, you probably crafted an even different kind of a name that's sexy than that. What do you call yourself these days in terms of what you do?
Superhuman life coach.
Superhuman life coach. Now, where does nutrition fall in there? Because you're big on that. It's a.
It's a big foundational piece of it. You know, I think it's one of the easiest places to start for most people because it gets them feeling better. It's not. It's not the whole thing, you know, like, you got to get that figured out so you feel better. But then after you get the nutrition piece in place, you start to feel good. And then I tell people, like, you start to dream again, you know, like, you start to.
Oh, man.
Like, there's a whole freaking world out here that's not cloudy and aggressive and angry and freaking, you know, down and all that stuff.
That's huge. That's huge. And to get that kind of feedback from. From a superhuman life coach. I'm telling you right now, the fact that you're even listening says a lot about the kind of character that you are. We appreciate that kind of you being that type of a caller that would call in just to say a quick hello to us and some show. Some show appreciation as well as be out there listening to the program. And knowing you, you probably spreading the word, too. The listeners to hear again.
Yes, sir.
Is you said finding the line between being interesting and interested.
Yes.
Right.
Yes.
I like that because you. Oh, yeah.
And obviously anybody listen right now, I'll just say, like, if you're. If you're. It sounds like if you're stuck in any area of your life, like, you guys would be the people to go to. Listen to me, sounds like it's not just business. It's relationship. It's. It's anything.
Absolutely. That's why we talk. That's why we say we seek to help you improve the quality of your life in a global way. Globally, meaning. Have to stay interesting to that audience. It's not about you.
No.
Well, it's about the audience.
It's about your guests.
Or the guests. Or the guests. Exactly. And in the professional speaking world, they say this. They say you don't have to use humor when you're out there speaking on the stage. Yeah. Unless you want to get paid. That's what they say. The, you know, full circle all the way around. Mental, physical, spiritual, emotional, educational, financial. You know, the thing is, they say. Which is right along with your. Interesting. Interested.
Yes.
Sort of. What I mean, love it. So that's huge. Thank you for calling in.
We appreciate you are seeing you all here soon. Congratulations to your. Your thing.
As we say, you always want to speak to express, not impress.
You know, I guess you'd call it your granddaughter, like Aja's baby.
That's exactly right. We appreciate that. Hmm. I'm not here. Yeah. I'm not here to impress you with the quality of my speaking. I'm here to make an expression, share an expression, ask for an expression, create an expression. I'm not concerned with whether you're impressed about the quality of how I speak or not.
Thank you.
Thank you so much, man. You are so in the know. You are a Facebook friend. I can not to me.
And it's not easy.
Simple. Not easy.
Exactly. It is simple, but it is not easy. You really have to work and you.
Have to do the work.
It's taken me a while.
All right, man.
Y' all have a good one.
Take care now. Paul T. Thanks, Paul. Don't even make me break all my hours because. Because then I look like I'm bragging. Okay. By now. So that was good for. That's a quality person calling and listening to the program. Let's go back to Danny. Talk to me about Danny's perspective where basically she's got a husband that.
But I, you know, you gotta do the work. You have to do the work.
Thank you.
You have to go back. You.
That likes to, you know, socialize and be out there and be visible. And she doesn't have any.
Have to review it. You have to look at it again. You have to say, man, I upstaged my guest in that moment. That's not cool.
No. And you got that cannot happen.
And that cannot happen.
So. So you got to go to the Christians of the world and have a empowering conversation. A problem with it. But she wants a barometer on it.
Yeah.
How do you think that coaching moment went?
I thought it went pretty good. I mean, you know, I just think that you. You.
You have to speak to the Danny's.
Yes.
You got to speak to the Jills, and you have to speak to them.
What to take into an account. And like me I. I want my wife to go out with me. She's a beautiful.
In their language.
Exactly.
Now, what we were searching for when we were searching. Yeah.
For woman.
Right.
And. And I, I'd love for her to.
To be with me, but their language, not ours.
Yeah.
Right.
Yes.
So when we speak to them in their language, that's what the whole laser coaching moments, that's what it's all about.
Yeah.
Yeah. It gives them something that they can use if they speak. If we just speak our language, maybe they get it, maybe they don't get it. And even if they do get it, maybe they use it.
You know, every, every outing isn't for her.
No. And you know what, what you do, well, you make it look easy. Another thing you, you do. I'm. Listen, I'm not trying to blow sunshine up your pant leg because you're wearing tight jeans today. But, but if we can speak to them in their language. Let me rephrase this. As we speak to the clients we serve and the audiences you serve and the guests you serve in their language, you get their personal best.
That is correct.
And your audience or listeners or viewers get the best of that. I love it. I told you. We funny a little bit in my family. I'm just saying. Little Richard, Pink sense.
I love it.
That's why things are rocking and rolling and that's another reason why, you know, you're going to have to figure prior action. That was my grandmama's side talking. But I'm not really trying to blow sunshine up your leg. But you actually make it look easy. You really do. And. But your other three day jobs that you have because you don't have to come back on the show and do some more hosting. When you're working, you're also playing.
Yes.
Because it is your craft you have mastered.
I will be back.
Okay, Arnold, if you'll have me.
And listen, I know Lisa is probably out there listening. She's not in the studio. I did not sit in your seat.
Lisa, at the Art of Living, which is you make no distinction between your work and your play. James Mishner wrote up.
I left it because the spirit of her is here. And I left her.
I love it. I love it. I love it. You know, and let's do it. Shout out there, Felicia, because she's on a special assignment right now. She couldn't be on the program today, but she is here with us in spirit. And her empty chair. I can still see her face. A poem on. It's really beautiful. I'm not Going to get into it now. But your wife, that is not her calling. That is not her purpose so she can do these things. But it's exhausting. It is to be in front of people and be on your A game and play nice, nice. And all this. It's exhausting. Well, it is. Headphones and all that. Because she lives by the whole. Ain't no stopping us now to play that. Play that tune, if you will, Mr. Engineer. I think that's on tap. That's how we're gonna.
We. So we, we worked out an agreement, she and I.
Perfect. Close this program with a little. Ain't no stopping us now.
And that's for everybody.
That is for everybody. All you listeners out there, no matter where you're going through challenges in life, you're getting ready to make it.
And we talk about every so often, we'll, we'll, we'll talk about the agreement and we'll. And we will acknowledge the fact that, you know, she is happy that I'm not.
Big house move or you're getting ready to look for a new occupation to get into or forcing her.
And, and then, and then I, I acknowledge.
Or do a life change of any kind. Play this song. Ain't no stop.
The fact that, you know, I, I appreciate her willingness when she can go out and when she wants to go.
Out and, and let that move you through your change. I think that's a great way to close the show to know that. We'll be back again next week.
Thank you, sir.
Same station. We're gonna probably do some laser moments again.
I like it. Pew. Pew. She does.
It's a bonus.
I understand.
It's a bonus when she goes. But see, a lot of people fight about it because she doesn't want to be as visible and out there.
Yes.
Be invisible and out there is how you're going to make it. You know, you're not visible and out there. You're not going to make.
Exactly. And she says to me, well, what am I going to do when I'm out there?
Well, you, like, you always know what you're going to do.
Yeah, but, but, you know, her point is interesting. She says, what am I going to do? Because you're out there to mix and mingle about your show. That's what you're out there to do. That's what your job.
